A person who brags about being worth $10 billion just begs the question of "why didn't you make good on your debts now that your net worth is sufficient?"

Hey he's good at working the system. Now how much of his wealth was created or saved by creditors loosing on debts or worse how much was funded by government?davidtrios said:

If Trump ran on his business acumen well he'd get more respect but when he realizes he can't garner enough votes and goes fear factor on insecure, well than he's shit. Add some bankruptcies and double shit. In my book.
BUT to your actual question? Money is not a success factor for me. Spending time with humans I love, tinkering on oily car parts and breathing in nature is success to me. Chasing money/position is exhausting and never fulfilling.Post edited by callen on10-18-2000 Houston, 04-06-2003 Houston, 6-25-2003 Toronto, 10-8-2004 Kissimmee, 9-4-2005 Calgary, 12-3-05 Sao Paulo, 7-2-2006 Denver, 7-22-06 Gorge, 7-23-2006 Gorge, 9-13-2006 Bern, 6-22-2008 DC, 6-24-2008 MSG, 6-25-2008 MSG0 -
That says zero about his character. Well, actually no, it says a lot. It means he is driven by money, self absorbed and out of touch with any kind of reality on how average people live their lives.davidtrios said:

actually his net worth is overstated....a lot based on overstated real estate values, etc.
If he had to liquidate everything he would still be a billionaire but probably only $2 billion or so.
Based on what he inherited he has actually done a real shitty job managing his wealth. He would have been better off parking his Dad's $$ in a money market and playing xbox.Remember the Thomas Nine !! (10/02/2018)

I don't see a person's net worth as necessarily saying one thing or another about their character (the right person with a lot of money can do a lot of good) and therefor says little about their ability to be an effective leader. I wish we could remove the money factor from politics all together.
So can we talk about Trump in terms of his character? Do you think he is a man who cares for the well being of all the people? Do you think he cares about the well being of people who are less fortunate or who are victims of cruelty, abuse or atrocities? Do you think he cares about the equality of women? And of equal importance, do you think he cares about the lives and well being of other species with whom we share this planet?"It's a sad and beautiful world"-Roberto Benigni0 -
These questions are rhetorical right? The answer to them is almost assuredly (more accurate to say resoundingly) 'no'.brianlux said:I don't see a person's net worth as necessarily saying one thing or another about their character (the right person with a lot of money can do a lot of good) and therefor says little about their ability to be an effective leader. Funny you should say that because when I previewed my post (a highly recommended practice) these questions sounded rhetorical to me too. But to be honest, my original intent was for them to be straight up questions to those who support Trump. Of course waiting for straight up answers might take us into the next year.Thirty Bills Unpaid said:

I don't know much about mr. Trump but I think that there's something about his personality that's not suitable for a president..I read somewhere that Putin likes Trump, maybe they're pals.Post edited by Annafalk on0

Probably everyone gets a piece of it. All that money borrowed went to pay for construction and operations so it probably got to the middle and lower class to some extent through wages.brianlux said:
