Got mine today. A little bit creased along the edges at two of the corners but nothing to get upset about. Will frame out if I choose to frame it. Again like the others no tape on caps and no kraft paper inside. The poster is more of a reference piece to go along with the Ames Bros vs Pearl Jam book than a so called art /investment piece to be display prominently in your home. With that said though I understand why people are upset, you paid money for a product which you expect to be delivered undamaged. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year people!!!!!!
Mine arrived today here in Australia. Same as everyone, end caps not taped down so I was nervous as hell opening. No craft paper but poster escaped brutal damage, just one 2cm crease on bottom border.
I ordered the 'signed by artists' edition direct from Ames. The sig isnt anything like the one shown on their site...just a scribble of 'Ames Bros' and not the individual artists...

I paid a little extra to get the signed one from Ames and when it arrived stuck in the cap with the edge crushed and torn I was really bummed. I took pictures (don't know how to post on here) and sent Ames an email. It took them a few days to get back to me but I'm very pleased with how they are handling the issue. I will hold final judgement until I receive a new undamaged poster but at least they are not asking me to mail it back!
Here is what Ames said:
"Karen, We are sorry that your poster arrived damaged. When we get more and the artists get back next week we will send you a replacement. Thanks for sending pictures I have added you to a damages list. We are not using kraft paper on the outside of the poster because of the size of the poster. We had to bring in some extra help during the holidays to fulfill some of these orders which is probably why it was packaged poorly. We will send your replacement out as soon as possible.
BTW: I specifically asked about the craft paper and they said, "We are not using kraft paper on the outside of the poster because of the size of the poster". Doesn't make much sense to me, just get bigger paper. I'm sure they're thinking that in retrospect cuz it's going to cost a bundle replacing all the damaged posters.
OMT: I wonder if Ames was handling the shipping for 10c.... it seems like the exact same problem coming from either place. Or they both had untrained seasonal workers. :-s

Glossy paper is fine for a shredder. Workplaces will tell you not to shred glossy because it cannot be recycled with regular office paper. As Dexter Holland would say, you gotta keep 'em separated.
1st guy rips his in half, sends in a photo. Then rips that on into 4ths, send photo to 2nd guy, then rips the original into 8ths and sends photo to 3rd guy...let's do this!!!

Who cares about shredding or ripping? Do we really need to dissect their response until we find fault? They made a mistake. Now they're correcting it. And while it hasn't been officially answered, it seems all the posters may have been packed by seasonal employees at Ames.
