Jeeeez, I just can't believe he's gone. He was one of the best singers of the 90's, he was a very innovative one. I have nice memories of him playing live with Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver. Rest In Peace, Scott!

Two bands got me into rock when I was about 11 years old: Queen and Stone Temple Pilots. No STP, no Pearl Jam for me. Funny how that works. I'm pretty sure I wore out my Purple cd. Saw them at Key Arena in 2000 with RHCP... I will never forget that, the guy was totally out-of-his-mind on stage, and it worked. This is really tragic.

Such a shame... I saw Stone Temple Pilots in 1994, they were one of the bands that defined my life growing up. I suppose it was coming for a long time, but I had always hoped he would recover and come back to those heights of the 90s. RIP

It's so sad his demons got the best of him. My older brother took me to see them in the early 00's and after they came out I was like "what just happened?" What an amazing front man. He will be deeply missed. RIP
I believe he has a daughter and a son as well which is tragic for them. I was never a fan of his antics but it's unfortunate nonetheless when he leaves behind a family.
