    The creator of fake news??

“I remember landing under sniper fire. There was supposed to be some kind of a greeting ceremony at the airport, but instead we just ran with our heads down to get into the vehicles to get to our base.” - Hillary Clinton, making up a fake news story at George Washington University, March 17, 2008

    Of a Hillary comeback.

    Thing is, it wont happen.

But let's keep posting about it!

And, as I've said before in this thread, my interest in the popular vote total has nothing to do with dreaming of a Hillary Clinton comeback.

Considering she is up in total votes, it wouldn't make a bit of sense to think that your posting is some belief that it's leading to a comeback. For someone to think that was your objective is pretty silly.

Don't call it a comeback, she's been here for years.
She ran a poor campaign, and now she's in tears.

Introspection from Democrats and an honest assessment of what happened in this election would be good to see. It's true, there has not been much of that yet. I'm still willing to give people time, and in the meantime Trump always needs to be watchdogged. But in the long run the Democratic establishment shouldn't be allowed to just shrug and wash its hands of any culpability here. This was a winnable race that was not won. There are many reasons why and there is plenty of blame to go around.

Of course the aging old guard doesn't want to step down. Why would they? People's natural instincts is to protect themselves. The question is who is the new guard? Obama was ahead of the curve and his generation. But where are the other leaders? And how do the Dems stop being a coastal party, which really played out in this election. What are the policies that brings the older, white, lower to middle class mid westerners back into the fold?

I'm a little surprised that Pelosi didn't step down. I think she's great but the GOP has been successful at demonizing her the same way they did HRC. Dems need to get some balls.

Honestly...I don't know. Not for sure. But I do think it starts with remembering how to talk to those older, white voters and not mocking or ridiculing them all the time. I completely misjudged how the "deplorable" comment resonated in some circles. I laughed at it and that is my bad. The Democrats cannot make that mistake again.

She was clearly talking about the racists that pollute Trump's voter base.. the alt-right, Leninist types who offer nothing productive to this world, only destruction. But I get your point. Making the comment, whether it's true or not, gave ammunition to be manipulated. She should have learned the lesson of 2012 when Romney got mauled for the "46% taker" comment. The bottom line is that a POTUS is the POTUS of everyone, whether they voted for you or not. Attack the candidate, not the voter.

You can't expect someone who believes fake news, to actually understand what fake news is.

conservatives might be more likely to fall for fake news
40 studies were reviewed on differences in this need for cognition between liberals and conservatives. Of those, 25 showed a "significant, negative" association between need for cognition and right-wing orientation. In all but three of the others, there was a similar negative association but it wasn't statistically significant.

In other words, liberals were slightly more predisposed to think critically than conservatives.

But we knew that already, didn't we?
