If I was Ahmad and my parents were ok with the way I was treated, you can damn well expect me to be pissed and prob mentally fucked up by the whole experience. Although I may be Muslim, I'm also white. I know how privileged I am for it.

Nart,would you feel the same way about this situation if it was a story of a white kid or an Indian kid?
Is your outrage based on that it was a "Muslim" kid or on the treatment of "a" kid in general.
I think the bias can cloud judgement in both directions.Looking at this from a basically neutral position Many on here including Scott have brought up sound reasoning without the religious component.

I found myself replaying the courtroom scene from "A Time To Kill" when McConaghy addresses the jury and when he's finished with the brutal details of the case he then closes with something like"Now picture this being a white little girl".

I already stated that if it was my kid I'd be furious beyond belief. But legally, no legs (it appears).

actually, there is a huge difference in today's american social climate. everyone is paranoid of anything weird in a school or movie theatre. and also, was the nuclear kid checked out prior to getting all this praise? we don't know.
