Sorry kids,I don't see how this country actually gets better with Larry David(Sanders) as President.I get why he wants some of his positions and I agree with a few of his positions(Climate Change for one)
But I don't see the other side working with him.His Foriegn policy ,mainly his more hands off approach ,being not proactive scares me when dealing with Russia and China.I believe he would be too soft.
And I agree with Hillary on her point ,we are not Norway,Denmark or Sweden. You can't compare.

Do you really see republicans keeping the house this next time around? I think voters are gonna clean house in congress and the democrat who wins will have a much easier time than people think.
Yes,I think they will actually have some juice going into this next term
    really?

    that is interesting.

their benghazi committee has been exposed for the sham it is, and all their candidates seem to want to talk about is how obama is terribile and how their favorite bible verse will guide their leadership.

there is no comparison between the two parties.

Another Republican debate tonight! This one should be interesting. It is in Boulder, CO, so I imagine there will be a bit of focus on weed legalization, which makes most of them a little jumpy. They're all happy to talk about states rights (when it doesn't apply to gay marriage), but most don't want to spend too much time discussing the actual issue of legalization.

It will also be interesting to see how Trump goes after Carson, since Trump's lead has slipped. Trump will probably attempt to smack him down any chance he gets. Carson has said a lot of stupid things over the past few weeks, so there is plenty of fodder for Trump, although he creates plenty of his own that can be used against him.

I'm personally interested in seeing how Kasich responds today. Apparently he blew up at a rally and speech in Ohio yesterday, and is clearly not happy with the shit-show his party has become. http://www.dailykos.com/story/2015/10/28/1441555/-GOP-Presidential-Candidate-goes-ballistic-What-has-happened-to-our-Party?)#

As a former GOP supporter, I can tell you that I felt the same way 30+ years ago when the fundies started taking over the party and turned caucuses and conventions into religious revivals. Unfortunately, I agree with the article's closing paragraph: "John Kasich's explosion of justifiable disdain for what his party has become may seem bold to many. The reality of the state of the Republican Party makes his utterances likely fatal. He likely will not be the Republican nominee." The one disagreement I have with that last sentence is the inclusion of "likely".

Anyway, load your bowls, fill your glasses, and get ready for another tragic comedy.

I'm with you.I lean right, but hate the fundamental BS.I assume others do also, which explains some of Trumps shine.

i saw they were all bitching about the size of their green rooms. trump had a big one. fiorino had a jaccuzi in hers. christie and rand paul's were essentially a restroom including the toilet.

Cruz made a "joke" about pot brownies.

Shit, I'd partake if I were one of them. Funny kind of truth serum.

Whoa whoa whoa, just fully saw Trump's hair. Did it move further down his forehead or is it just me and my weed game?

Nice! Get it, hit it, don't forget it! I wish I could watch the debates, the spectacle of it is almost operatic lol

At least there is something substantial being discussed, even if it is only in talking point sound bites.

And I am happy you ventured on over, sir.

You made me think of another cranky but wise fellow. I know he spoke much about faith, religion, so much of substance, but came upon this instead which fits.

Hope you come back to the Twain ;)

The main takeaway from that debate is that the liberal media is awful.

I thought the debate was great, all candidates seem to have respect for each other, did the Dem debate have the same ? I missed that one (I couldn't care less what Hell'ary has to say)

Having read a transcript of the questions , some were appropriate for that setting and others were more appropriate for a press conference or no holds barred interview.

Think the stations are looking for the ad revenue over the role they used to play, as advocates for the general public. Seems kinda tabloidy at times.

yes, a few of the candidates nailed the panel for the questioning they felt was outside the topic.

    Not just cnbc.

Cruz failed answer a substantive question instead called them out for not asking such questions

As much as they wanted to blame "liberal media" it should be pointed out that the questions on the Fox debate were pretty pointed.

Note the plural in stations. My opinion Fox was more overt and unabashed about it.

Would like to be a fly on the wall in the stations predebate meetings including the meetings with RNC/DNC. Including the individual ones with candidates.

I am not sure who you are or what you have done with GF, but whatever it is, in general, posts coming from you seem to be quite a bit more rational these days.

That said, what mess are we talking about? I mean, the country is in faaaaaarrrr from perfect shape, but I wouldn't exactly call this a mess compared to where we were in the not too distant past and where the majority of the rest of the world is.

Yep. Imagine where we could be if there was better cooperation and compromise (as was intended by the framers) within Congress and between the WH and Congress as a whole.
