As much as people whine about Jay Cutler, he is the best QB to ever put on a Bears uniform in their 95 year history. It's true! Look ...

Some could argue Sid Luckman, but it's hard to judge a man when they played in a time when moving pictures was just getting off the ground.

I refuse to click on that link. What are they basing that opinion on?

It's not an article with an opinion. It just lists every Bears QB in their history.

I can't give a good opinion on the QB's that played when leather helmets were still used, but Cutler if clearly the best they have under center that didn't have the greatest defense and greatest running back on their roster. Harbaugh and Kyle Orton are in the legitimate discussion for top 5 in the last 50 years.

Ehh, like I said, based on what? Completions, td passes, wins? Certainly not playoff wins. Not all of the greatest running backs of all time have won super bowls. You still need a great qb to lead you there.

I'm just playing devils advocate. Imo, Jim McMahon is the bears best qb. Cutler has the numbers, but McMahon was a true leader.

Cutler actually owns a big percentage of all Bears, alltime QB stats.
He had many by his third season.
Hate the guy or not, he has been one of the best Bears QBs of alltime. Which, yeah...is pretty sad.

You guys know that when the Bears are expected to be a good team, they end up sucking. When they are expected to be terrible, they actually put together a decent season.

When did that apply? Because when they went to the super bowl, they weren't expected to suck.

That year they were not predicted to be a top 10 team, more like 15th(the offense/QB situation was super iffy). Then of course they went to the Superbowl. The following year they were predicted to be a top 3 team and then they finished 7-9.

You're right, it's a mostly flawed statement but it certainly feels that way. When you don't expect much out of the team, they can surprise you and go to the Superbowl. When they have a really good season, you expect them to keep trending upwards next year and then they shit the bed.

Kevin White's mysterious shin injury isn't promising. The guy still hasn't even practiced yet.

And I hope somebody sucker punches Cutler, and breaks his jaw.

Not sure if I'll be able to see the game live tonight. I just got DirecTV, which included free Sunday Ticket (sweet!), but I don't think that includes pre-season.
Preseason doesn't mean shit, but I'd like to be able to watch because a) It's the Bears! b) Football season!! c) I want to see how much different this team looks.
