Negative here. I'm a Democrat but Elizabeth Warren is a fool. Her policies are at the height of creating unintended consequences. Those of in financial services have seen first hand how the CFPB operates and how their "consent orders" have created a new financial services industry that is preying even more directly on low income and the least sophisticated consumers. She's targeted big banks but she doesn't understand that 'big banks' employ thousands and thousands of middle class works, non-exempts, low level managers, etc. whose livelihoods are damaged by her misguided policies. No thanks. She's a nightmare.Gern Blansten said:

Hillary may be lots of things, but she's not a fool. She's establishment and that may or may not appeal to people. She's tightly connected with big business and broad interests. You aren't going to destroy corporations (nor should you want to), but what you can do is get them to support initiatives that enable progressive causes.. climate change, social issues, etc. Warren's relationships with business are so contentious and negative, she would never be effective in the oval office, no matter the seat.InHiding80 said:

Bernie really isn't polarizing though...With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata0

There are people who dislike Bernie. There are people who like Bernie a lot. There are many people who have no strong feeling one way or the other. That is not polarization.___________________________________________

How is that again? He chose to run for the democratic nomination as a self proclaimed socialist. If that is not the polar opposite of the right wing extremists, I do not know what is...besides Hellary that is! The whole political climate is polarized. Do you think some middle of the road Joe is going to win this election?PJ_Soul said:Bernie really isn't polarizing though...

Exactly....comparing Bernie to Trump is like comparing Bernie to nothing. There is no comparison.JimmyV said:There are people who dislike Bernie. There are people who like Bernie a lot. There are many people who have no strong feeling one way or the other. That is not polarization.

I guess we are not on the same page when it comes to what a polarizing figure is. Just because Bernie is opposite to, say, Trump, it doesn't mean that he's polarizing. Trump is polarizing. Actually most of the Rep nominees are! But simply not being in the middle of road isn't how someone is polarizing. A polarizing figure is someone who specifically, pointedly, actively divides people. Bernie really doesn't apply IMO, while that is basically all that Trump does.PJPOWER said:

Remember that 30-40% of the population is not engaged daily in politics. Therefore they are typically considered "moderate". They go left on some issues, right on the other. This is why post primary, it's the big swing to the middle.
So yes... we will likely continue to have moderate candidates win the presidency. Reagan is the only person in the last 50 years who could conceivably be considered solidly left or right...maybe Nixon, but remember he ran on the platform of "peace with honor", not exactly the words of a war hawk. Reagan won because he faced a very battered president who was dealing with a recession, Iran and a general malaise.0 -
This Bernie guy....I don't see him in the headlines.
Is he the second place guy that Republicans are looking at?
He has no traction in our headlines anyway.0 -
