Perhaps a certain Senator from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts?
    Yep
Negative here. I'm a Democrat but Elizabeth Warren is a fool. Her policies are at the height of creating unintended consequences. Those of in financial services have seen first hand how the CFPB operates and how their "consent orders" have created a new financial services industry that is preying even more directly on low income and the least sophisticated consumers. She's targeted big banks but she doesn't understand that 'big banks' employ thousands and thousands of middle class works, non-exempts, low level managers, etc. whose livelihoods are damaged by her misguided policies. No thanks. She's a nightmare.
    You spelled Hillary Clinton wrong.

However, I'm disappointed that even Warren sides with Monsanto.

Wow now you're driving that fear onto people. The liberal way.

If that's the liberal way, why is the right so much better at it?
Because their better at everything. LOL!

Hillary may be lots of things, but she's not a fool. She's establishment and that may or may not appeal to people. She's tightly connected with big business and broad interests. You aren't going to destroy corporations (nor should you want to), but what you can do is get them to support initiatives that enable progressive causes.. climate change, social issues, etc. Warren's relationships with business are so contentious and negative, she would never be effective in the oval office, no matter the seat.

Not so sure with Bernie it's just the age thing. Even I question how things would be paid and he doesn't resonate being able to articulate his plans. Who knows maybe I'm further right than I thought.

I think that Bernie and Trump are just mascots of the extreme polarizion these days. They jump around like clowns and rile up the hardcore extremists of both sides and turn into yesterday's news. If you are still smart enough to question people on the far reaches of ideology on either side, it just makes you a person that still maintains logic and reasoning capabilities ;). No need to beat yourself because you do not agree with a majority opinion...
Bernie is polarizing? You need to get out of your bubble.
Absolutely, and I'll get out of my bubble as soon as you pull your head out of your ass.

    Bernie really isn't polarizing though...

There are people who dislike Bernie. There are people who like Bernie a lot. There are many people who have no strong feeling one way or the other. That is not polarization.

How is that again? He chose to run for the democratic nomination as a self proclaimed socialist. If that is not the polar opposite of the right wing extremists, I do not know what is...besides Hellary that is! The whole political climate is polarized. Do you think some middle of the road Joe is going to win this election?

Exactly....comparing Bernie to Trump is like comparing Bernie to nothing. There is no comparison.

I guess we are not on the same page when it comes to what a polarizing figure is. Just because Bernie is opposite to, say, Trump, it doesn't mean that he's polarizing. Trump is polarizing. Actually most of the Rep nominees are! But simply not being in the middle of road isn't how someone is polarizing. A polarizing figure is someone who specifically, pointedly, actively divides people. Bernie really doesn't apply IMO, while that is basically all that Trump does.
(and yeah, what Gern said. A democratic socialist is not a socialist)

Remember that 30-40% of the population is not engaged daily in politics. Therefore they are typically considered "moderate". They go left on some issues, right on the other. This is why post primary, it's the big swing to the middle.

So yes... we will likely continue to have moderate candidates win the presidency. Reagan is the only person in the last 50 years who could conceivably be considered solidly left or right...maybe Nixon, but remember he ran on the platform of "peace with honor", not exactly the words of a war hawk. Reagan won because he faced a very battered president who was dealing with a recession, Iran and a general malaise.
  • This Bernie guy....I don't see him in the headlines.
Is he the second place guy that Republicans are looking at?
He has no traction in our headlines anyway.

He's not Congress. You understand that we have three branches of government, I'm sure. He can't write laws, he can't vote on laws, he can't litigate laws. So whether or not the super Pac that exists for Trump will exercise interest cannot be determined. Regardless, Congress will continue to be lobbied and those are the bills that may/may not be put forth on his desk... God forbid. Because we all know that Trump may not be beholden to any special interest other than his own enormous ego.
