Ed looked great and presented himself well. The only questionable moments were in the beginning while he was getting his voice warmed up, the sound of the broken string and the awkward hug. Big deal...it was LIVE tv and those are things that happen to even the best of performers. I bet that 99% of the people who were watching Letterman last night did not even notice (well...maybe the hug) and left the TV with a positive opinion of Ed.
Good for him. He was there for Dave, not for us, not for the twitter-verse and certainly not for his legacy as one of the all time great rockers.

Fuck yeah. Tom Waits Friday, Eddie Monday. Ten bucks says he plays "Letterman"... er, "Betterman." A cover with Paul and the band would be much cooler though. They did have a band on who played a Zevon cover a couple weeks ago. Maybe they'll do it again. Bet you Grohl shows up on Wednesday.
So I won the pool, yeah? I knew he wouldn't play Black. Had a feeling Betterman would be it, because of the "new and improved" meaning of the song as a dedication to someone who's liked ("This is for Jon Tester, cause you can't find a better man."). I really did expect him to switch at least one line to "Can't find a Letterman" just cause I thought it was something kinda cheesy that this-point-in-time-Eddie might do. I liked the keyboard intro, and how Paul switched to the organ sound after the first verse. Kind of bummed to see the breathy-H sound made its way back into Eddie's style as in "can't find a better ma-han" at the beginning. But, good song. The audience and Dave obviously loved it. I can't think of one other example where the entire crowd is on its feet at the BEGINNING of the song on Letterman ever. That says something about the vibe in the theater.

No one said he didn't support feminists... But he himself is definitely not one! Hahahahahaha
You're right. He never supported Planned Parenthood or equal rights for women. PJ never played a concert for Voters For Choice. He wasn't schooled by Gloria Steinem.
Pretty sure Eddie is about as feminist as a male can be.

I like the Betterman/Letterman play on words. And the hugs at the end. Ed looked very dapper in his suit.
Did he actually SAY Letterman in place of Better Man? I'm going to have to watch it again. I just thought he glanced back at the desk on one of the last "can't find a Better Man"s... and tagged on a "We'll miss you Dave." I have to rewatch it.

Oh, I dunno. Was just purely referencing the fact that he chose to sing Better Man that's all. I don't want to start any rumours!
