I am guessing the answer is 'No', but if I wanted to bring a small, portable, camping like chair for my son, do you think I would be able to in VIP 3, or not? I just not sure that he will be able to stand all day.
Thanks,
Dan

I do not think chairs are allowed but it's a park. Sit on the lawn.
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.
MIA was a great show too. Festivals in general are usually a fun time. I don't know why PJ festival shows have been branded as bad events.
Because supposedly caring, progressive thoughtful people get really competitive over what "rare" songs they have seen, then start pissing matches on here. Apparently makes them a better fan so Ed will magically become their best friend, move in next door and invite them over for cookouts

It doesn't have anything to do with rare songs it has to do with the fact its always a short set. You see a Pearl Jam show its 3 hours and 30+ songs. You go to a PJ festival show and its 18-22 songs and less than 2 hours. That's the only reason I am disappointed!
So I just booked a room @ Fairfield inn on 40th ave in queens by the queensboro bridge.
@ only 2.6 miles from Central Park, I can't imagine a cab or uber would cost too much.
Can anyone offer some advice on good places to grab a mid-afternoon pre-show dinner around there?
You don't want to cab or uber from there. The subway is right there! Take the N/Q line to 57th street station and walk a few blocks to 59th street Columbus circle and hop on the A train from 59th street station to 81st or 86th. This will take you half the time of an Uber or Cab and cost you MUCH less.

You're assuming that all those trains will be running well on a Saturday.

Sounds like you had a traumatising weekend subway experience

Heh. Not traumatizing but certainly not worth the headache. I bought a bike in 2008 and prefer to commute that way (except in icy/snowy winter conditions, of course).
Now that I've moved to the Boston area, though, I miss the MTA. Weekday trains here are worse than weekend NYC trains. So I'm biking here as well, but it's not set up as well for cyclists. Nowhere near as safe as NYC.

Maybe GC *did* want to interview me for the managing editor job last fall, and I just didn't get the email.
