depends on what the leftovers are.

and to the leftover pasta guy, that's why you add a few tablespoons of water to the pasta before you reheat it...just like rice, comes out just fine.

I refuse to eat cold pizza, gross.

had my eye on the chicken and noodles, but figured I'd let it get a little older....same with the Dec. 31 yogurt.

One of our accountants - who's Chinese - said she was leaving the country for a week to care for her grandmother. I told my coworker I thought she was going to China (safe assumption, right?) and got laughed at.

    The fuck?

doesnt mean the grandmother is in china. Could be Canada. or another favorite of the chinese to live.

I was informed of this possibility earlier today. Glad I didn't ask her!

(and a thumbs up to cold pizza! Not with pepperoni though - don't like the congealed oil...but with mushrooms? Mmm mmm good)

Can we revisit my pickles conundrum. I mean they're pickles. The whole point of them is to exist in their preserved state. Otherwise I'd be eating cucumbers (which I do in fact have in the fridge. MMMMM cucumber sammich.MMMMM goat cheese and cucumber cracker. MMMMMMm cucumber with lemon and salt. seriously cucumber is the best vegetable to ever exist.)

Sorry got distracted. Bit hungry. Anyway I am revisiting this because I had an open jar of pickles in the fridge too. These are not the homemade deli-type pickles, these are off the shelf Vlassic kosher dill. The date on the jar is August 2014. I know for a fact that the jar itself hadn't even been opened since July. There's nothing mouldy in it or floating around. The little bits are all still fine. Overall it smells like pickles+pickle juice. They taste fine too, if a bit garlicky (sensitive palate, I haz). I'm definitely one of those people that's overly cautious with dates which is why the whole August thing is bugging me. But I mean - PICKLES.

    Thoughts?

Leftover pizza is best reheated in the oven. So much better than cold! Possibly better than fresh, since it makes the crust a bit crispier.

It's a vinegar based thing. I think that you are fine. (Though I don't eat pickles because they are gross in their unexpired state, so you and imalive can have mine.) Does it say "best by" or "use by." Huge difference.

  • Unless the pickles have started to go soft they should be fine.

I didn't think pickles could go bad as long as there was still vinegar in the jar.

50% of men over 40 sometime experience a soft pickle.
