    Soup always grows. I start with a small pot, then it grows to something that could feed half of the homeless shelter downtown by the time I'm done. We eat it for 3 days and honestly, I hit my fill. I either bring it to work for my coworkers or freeze.

    it was my own fault. I put too many things into it. I had one bowl and i dont even want to eat the rest. I'm gonna try to give it away to someone.

    Just found some frozen Axis blackstrap in back of freezer from 2013 season....such a waste but I'm not sure I want to chance it. Anyone know how long venison keeps?

    It's a spotted deer and the backstrap is one of the most tender parts of a deer.

    I've never fucked with deer, but to the best of my knowledge frozen meat is fine for a year and a half. I would defrost it in the fridge rather than outside, and keep an eye/nose on it. If it looks freezerburnt or it smells off, chuck it. But if it's been continuously frozen the whole time I bet it will be good still.
