That is a fucking crazy story. I heard clips of the woman reporting when the gun fire started. She starts screaming, then nothing. Unbelievable.Gern Blansten said:0 -

Can you give us your perspective on process of gun control in your country and how you feel your fellow citizens felt during increased regulation and now? Thanks.E.K said:

I'm curious about this, as well. I seem to recall an Australian YouTube video warning the American public about how gun control in Australia was a failure, how only criminals had guns, how violent crime was on the rise and how difficult it is to restore rights once removed.
I'd love to hear another perspective. If hope can grow from dirt like me, it can be done. - EV0 -
I personally think the biggest problem with guns in America is not regulation, but the gun culture. I mean, guns seem to be an obvious choice for Americans if they are worried about anything. That is not normal in the rest of the developed world. Most people's minds just don't go there in other places. In the US: Recent spat of break-ins = get a gun. Lady gets mugged on the train = get a gun. Terrorist attack anywhere in the nation = get a gun. Have children you want to protect = get a gun. Mass shooting anywhere in the country = get a gun. This is simply not where people's minds turn in Canada, UK, Australia, Western Europe, Asia. Instead they talk about it on the news to ask people to be more aware of the danger and of their surroundings while the particular problem is being investigated and hopefully resolved, people keep an extra eye out, some might buy better locks or motion detector lights or something, perhaps some women decide to keep some kind of inconspicuous protective weapon in their purses, like pepper spray or something, etc etc etc. People outside of the US simply don't generally tend to feel scared or fanatical enough to even consider getting a gun for anything other than hunting or target practice (criminals aside). Americans (obviously generalizing here) are obsessed with guns, plain and simple. That's why they are so fanatically protective of their right to attain them. Until that kind of mindset changes, nothing else will.
That said, of course better regulation would help. I think people should have to jump through some pretty extreme hoops to get guns legally. The illegal gun problem is another story, and much more difficult, which again comes around to the culture aspect.Post edited by PJ_Soul onWith all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. There is no gun problem in the US.
Donald Trump says so.

I am an American and I do not like guns. We were taught to walk with our keys in our fist for protection and in the home there's some kind of blunt object. At no point was guns ever brought into the equation.NYC 06/24/08-Auckland 11/27/09-Chch 11/29/09-Newark 05/18/10-Atlanta 09/22/12-Chicago 07/19/13-Brooklyn 10/18/13 & 10/19/13-Hartford 10/25/13-Baltimore 10/27/13-Auckland 1/17/14-GC 1/19/14-Melbourne 1/24/14-Sydney 1/26/14-Amsterdam 6/16/14 & 6/17/14-Milan 6/20/14-Berlin 6/26/14-Leeds 7/8/14-Milton Keynes 7/11/14-St. Louis 10/3/14-NYC 9/26/15

A situation that could've easily gotten out of hand. Not nescessarily the best way to handle that that particular confrontation.....that kind of aggression can escalate out of hand in an instance.Gern Blansten said:http://www.rawstory.com/2015/09/white-missouri-woman-confronts-black-teens-and-almost-immediately-pulls-gun-yes-i-would-have-used-it/

yep....which is exactly why we will reach critical mass on gun ownership. We are just at the tip of the iceberg on killings.g under p said:

another one where the good guy ones:
Police say a Norfolk pizza delivery driver turned the tables on a teen robbery suspect.
Officers were called to the 900 block of Galt Street around 9:30 p.m. Sunday for the report of a shooting.
The investigation revealed a 15-year-old tried to rob a Chanello’s pizza delivery driver at gunpoint. But, the driver also had a gun and shot the teen.
Investigators charged the 15-year-old with robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. He will remain at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital until he recovers from his injuries.I'll ride the wave where it takes me......0 -
Yeah those are great stories. What would be greater is if we made it really hard to criminals to get guns.Remember the Thomas Nine !! (10/02/2018)
