    I would NOT recommend the YMCA's :o well the one I was in anyway, and I'm not fussy... but Barry and I stayed in one last time... very reasonable for your own room and the location (Vanderbildt YMCA) was perfect, right beside grand central station. BUT the room smelled :o air conditioning was like a train running through the room... ya just get the impression that cockroaches live in the pillows :eek: that kinda thing. ALSO... the showers are a room on each floor each with curtain cubicles and the main door has a pretty simple code that I'm sure would be easy to crack. I never felt very safe... it's not like the hostels in Europe Jenny.
