Lottery or No Lottery

I agree.MayDay10 said:I say no lottery, especially as it was. I feel with 2 separate pools of GA vs Reserved really opened the door to provide an advantage to those who open multiple accounts and/or team with others. I have never, ever seen nearly this many people with "extras" peddling them. It also encouraged people to put in for more shows they wouldnt really intend on going to otherwise.

No one has to enter for more shows than they want. In the old system, people still bought tickets to shows they "hoped" they could attend and wasted them when they could not go. In the old system, you could very well have got shut out of shows in a high demand city the same way one is shut out in the lottery. There is no system that is going to work for everyone.backseatLover12 said:.

They can't make it so everyone "wins" one show, especially in high demand cities. They don't have the tickets to meet the demand. Would not matter how they do it.They tired saying for cities with more than one night you can only win one to help spread the tickets, about best they can do.backseatLover12 said:The lottery absolutely SUCKS when you request 2 shows and get shut out of both of them, while you have other people winning multiple shows. I'm not really a fan of the lottery deciding whether or not you even get a ticket to a show, but I'm totally ok with a lottery for your actual seat.Star Lake 00 / Pittsburgh 03 / State College 03 / Bristow 03 / Cleveland 06 / Camden II 06 / DC 08 / Pittsburgh 13 / Baltimore 13 / Charlottesville 13 / Cincinnati 14 / St. Paul 14 / Hampton 16 / Wrigley I 16 / Wrigley II 16 / Baltimore 20 / Camden 22 / Baltimore 24 / Raleigh I 25 / Raleigh II 25 / Pittsburgh I 250

I'm not one of those suckers who's going to buy a ticket to a show I don't fully plan on attending. "Waste tickets"? My wallet certainly doesn't warrant that sort of behavior. I don't assume that people do this, and if they do, they're stupid.pjsteelerfan said:

You don't have to clear an entire day and enlist friends and family to enter the lottery though.Dercheef said:

That makes no sense. During a tour there are shows where too many people want tickets and shows that not enough people want tickets. People are generally only getting tickets to multiple shows because they chose to go to ones that were less popular.
You could of gone to 4 shows if you selected Portland, Spokane, Calgary and Vancouver.... but 0 if you chose some of the uber popular northeast shows.
I think the preference thing works pretty good, but I do think they should make it one draw per show, to eliminate people from dividing their first two pref's amongst different shows (which I think was a bit of a hole in the system). because you could request seated show 1, seated show 2, and if someone else got shutout of GA on show 2, you were both in equal running for seated tickets for show 2 even though you already had a pair of tickets.

Lol. Well the thing about those fools with the numbers on their hands is that there aren't enough of them for it to really impact everyone else. They can all hang around getting numbers on their hands for 12 hours, but I can still show up 10 minutes before the doors open and be three deep directly in front of Eddie. I don't think that a handful of obsessive power mongers should or do have any impact on the rest of us enjoying all the benefits of GA. But with the 4 rows of lottery seats, 1) there are fucking SEATS in the way and that's no fun and so many less tickets sold in front of the stage, aka so many less people who get to get close, and 2) the chances of me or anyone else getting one of those seats are so slim it's not even worth hoping for.mcgruff10 said:

I didn't really like that. I don't have a low number, but I have a decent number. I was usually row 12-16 at Vancouver shows it seemed to push me back to row 16-20. I never won it, and statistically speaking the odds of winning are low, so in my own selfish nature all it did was pushed me four rows backmcgruff10 said:

Explain how choosing shows that would require flight and hotel arrangements makes sense over going to a local show. Because that's what you're saying. Not all PJ fans have bottomless wallets, ya know. I do agree with you that at very least, make it one draw per show.Zod said:backseatLover12 said:The lottery absolutely SUCKS when you request 2 shows and get shut out of both of them, while you have other people winning multiple shows. But there are the same number of 10C tix either way. So your chances of getting tix for a local show don't change no matter what system they use. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata0

Pre-Lotto ... I got Vic tix
Post-Lotto ... Couldn't score Wrigley tix
Hmmmm, which do I prefer .....Be Excellent To Each OtherParty On, Dudes!0 -
Does anyone else feel that there are too many games being played for tickets?
I hate to say it, but I find myself thinking that buying someones extra's or going to Stubhub is as viable of a plan as putting in for a show.
Maybe is just the game we have to play but it seems waste a lot of time and effort.0 -
But there was so other member who DIDN'T get Vic tix because you did. And some member who DID get Wrigley tix because you didn't. Seems fair to me....Jason P said:Pre-Lotto ... I got Vic tix
