What do you get on YTTV for $72/Month?
The Phillies and Sixers. This is basically the only reasons why I have pseudo cable. And kids are a relatively new sell for having more tee vee for me.

What I will never do again is pay for traditional cable. All Verizon gets from me is money for Internet.
Just Phillies & 76ers? No other sports chanels?

And what about other chanels such as HBO, Showtime, etc.?
I mean yeah there's other stuff in there, but basically the only reason I've ever subscribed to any kind of cable-like service was/is to watch local sports.

Personally, I like that I can customize channels that I definitely do not want to see, like Fox News, so that it doesn't show up in my list of channels. Also, fwiw, you can have to 5 or 6 people in a Google Family and if you're in the same market you can split a subscription. So we pay the extra $20/mo for the 4K/unlimited streams option.

But yeah there's other stuff in there; HBO/Showtime are additional subscriptions.

We're the better team, we should win. Will we? Maybe, baseball playoffs it really doesn't matter outside of who is hotter.

Outside of a sweep this series will not be good for my psyche.

Going to the game tomorrow, I will be unhinged.

Are they though? Since the Mets turned it around, they were the best team in baseball with 100 games left. I would’ve definitely rather have played the brewers. It’s gonna be one hell of a series , that’s for sure

It's really wild how these teams have never played each other in the postseason. They've just never been good consistently at the same time. In this era if the six-team format existed from 1995, the only times both would be in was 2005-2008. In 2005, the Phillies and Mets would have been the fifth and sixth seeds. In 2006, the Mets would have been the top seed, the Phillies fifth. In 2007, the Phillies second and the Mets sixth. In 2008, Phillies second seed and the Mets fifth.

Just historically bad teams that seemed to always have different cycles going on when they'd be good again. With the added WC spots I figure it should/may happen more frequently now.

another example is 1986 and 1993, the Mets won 108, the Phillies were a distant second. Seven years later, the Phillies led the division from the outset and the Mets were 59-103.

Our teams typically disappoint when we're the favorites. Damn it'll sting to lose to those fuckers.

Forgot to mention this: by securing the Wild Card bye, the Phillies extended the ctiy's forever streak of not winning 4 rounds in the postseason. The last Sixers & Flyers championships required 3 rounds at the time, being forever ago. 2017 Eagles had the bye.

Closest team was the 86-87 Flyers who won 15 playoff games before losing Game 7 in Edmonton. I know Juggs & JP love when I randomly talk about hockey for no reason.

and 86-87 was about two years after the NHL moved the first round to a best-of-seven from a best-of-five.

I think it was the first year actually. The 86 Flyers (without Pelle Lindbergh) were upset by the Rangers 3-2. More Phila-NY stuff there. Matter-of-fact most of the Phila vs. NY playoffs have been in hockey.

Maybe we're due for karma from upsetting the Braves the last 2 years. OTOH, the two main reasons we beat the Braves are still here. Zack Wheeler and Aaron Nola.

That's definitely true when the Knicks played the Sixers, it was the first time since 1989 in the first round.

My prediction is Phillies - Yanks and you guys getting revenge. I think whoever gets out of the NL wins it unless these series just beat the piss out of each out too much and they're starting with such a disadvantage.
