Gas station fried chicken is legit.

Here's to hoping Nola hits a fucking fiver on the ERA. Dude's been hovering at like a 1.1 whip this year, which makes it all that more perplexing.

    You should write those professionally.
No need to hear what you "caught notes of" whipe eating - straight and to the point!

I leave the odd review on Vivino. Usually I can smell/taste cherries in the wines - not too much more than that. If you're into that kinda stuff. Vivino is cool because it's real people reviewing wines which I find much more credible than these magazines that I believe sell high ratings.

so anyone here hear Ed's daughter sing on the soundtrack for Sean Penn's new movie?  I wanted to be cynical about it but it actually is pretty good.  Emotional song called My Father's Daughter.  Check it out if you get a chance.

    I'm going to critique.

    Position players
    • Plate appearances instead of at bats - fine whatever.
    • Add walks - I guess
    • Add OBP and SLG - sure
    • Delete BA and RBI's - go **** yourself
    • Add OPS - dude you have OBP and SLG on there already - can't you just add them up?
    • OPS+, wOBA - nobody knows what these are and I'm pretty sure there are various ways to measure them, so hard pass
    • WAR - again, multiple measurements, but maybe
    • wRC+ - what?
    • DRS - um
    Pitchers
    • Keep IP and ERA - so far so good
    • ERA+ - Again, confusing multiple ways to measure, etc., and wait, higher numbers are better? Pass.
    • WHIP - Okay
    • K/9, BB/9, SO/W - Why not just show K's and BB's along with IP and the baseball card owner can figure out the ratios on their own?
    • FIP - I don't buy into this stat - sorry
    • OPS against - I guess.
    • HardH% - that's kinda cool actually
    • WAR - see above
    • Deleting W-L - I get it - W-L is a stupid stat for pitchers, but can't we maintain any traditions?
    • No Saves (before or after) - Great!

    ^^^^ I call a lot of those Stats , Algebra Stats and I barley passed Algebra-1-LOL^^^^ So what is the Stat called X + Y = whatever?-LOL

    wOBA?

I have NO clue how some of those stats work. WAR? Doesn't that stat take fielding and running into consideration? If so, that's a  subjective opinion?  And, how can you give a WAR Stat to players that we never saw like Ty Cobb, Babe Ruth, Willie Mays, Ted Williams, Hank Aaron, etc. etc.??(if it takes fielding & running into consideration).

WAR is supposed to account for league averages, ballpark effects, etc. So someone is determining the ballpark effect of wherever the Tigers played before Tiger Stadium opened in 1912. And maybe those "ballpark effects" are just a matter of the Tigers having awesome or terrible pitching/fielding? Who the hell knows. Bottom line: the guy was a spectacular baseball player, as we can easily tell from all our traditional stats, and an abhorrent person who did nice things for some of his fellow players.

FIP is ridiculous - essentially saying any fair ball hit into play, not out of the park, is equal to any other ball hit into play. Who came up with that idea?

Guess we are stuck paying $200 or whatever for SeaHearNow even if we can't make it both days. At least they are requiring vax or negative COVID test.

More like $250 after fees (I think). But, regardless, starting to realize this show is right around the corner. GETTING EXCITED.

Or nitwits that are now bailing because they have to be vaxed/tested and/or wear a mask. I'm assuming we're all gonna have to wear a mask.

$250 a ticket and proof of vaccination/negative covid test you say? hmmmmm

I got the Birds opening day the next morning so....hoooboy, talk about leaping right out of the pandemic and into a full blown old school black out laden weekend. But I am dying to hear some Gigaton songs live though. Considering this .

Although...how many Gigaton songs do you guys think they will even play at a festival? Usually it's greatest hits stuff. But then again, I bet they are dying to play their "new" stuff too.

From all the interviews it seems like they're itching to play stuff from this album badly. And Jeff keeps inferring that it's been so long that they played anything else they legit forget playing some tunes, so they might end up Dylan-ing it and totally change up the melody/timing to some songs.

The schedule has them with a two hour window, but I mean with Bruce coming on I figure they'll go at least 3? Hee hee.

Anyway, greatest hits or not, I don't give a shit. They could lead the crowd in singing 'I'm a Little Teapot' for 2 hours and I would be fucking ecstatic.

I'd expect a healthy sample of Gigaton.

These are 3 of the 4 best songs on the record, IMO -- the one I expect to be the best live song from the album is Who Ever Said.

The first four songs are my favorites as well. In fact, I noticed that PJ has a lot of killer "1st four songs" on albums throughout the years. I even made a poll about it about a year ago....
