The Pearl Jam Pono's seem to be locked up for now. Havent monitored any movement for a couple days

I've been checking all week with NO LUCK for a PJ one to come up.

The $300.00 Black Pono for Oct. delivery just showed(2 of them actually) so i grabbed one of them. I'll just have to add Pearl Jam's albums myself.

Still waiting on that Led Zeppelin signature series one so i can get PEARL JAM.

Did i read on here that you have to give one up, so you can get a different one?

Yes. Essentially you can only make one pledge per account. You could get around this by creating a second kickstarter account (which can be linked to the same credit card) and purchasing the additional pledge there.

  • Only 10 more days to secure your LE Pearl Jam Signature Pono Player for $400!

    OK>Thanks.

MAYBE i'll create a 2nd account if it comes to that.

The Grateful Dead is only an emblem, kinda sucks they did that. I am fighting the urge to create a second account to get a ak Kenny Rogers number 5 player. As it stands I should be 500 on the PJ player but will have to see if anyone else gives up one. Picked up the last available PJ one on Monday.

Once it gets closer to people actually having to pay $400 for these, more will come open.... Kinda like holding stuff in your cart and not paying.
  • I think your right about every other signature series, but not the Pearl Jam. Limited to 500, and with such a rabid semi-audiophile audience/ fan base, I don't see many popping up. Mainly because, by now, the Lurkers on here have figured out how to set up a 2nd and 3rd etc. account and will purchase multiples as The PJ merch fans i call them put many a bread in the basket. imho

  • And, I think having #500/500 is kinda cool and people whom think thats them wont want to give it up. The early backers are undoubtedly wise to the nuances of pledging...

  • What if PJ went crazy and made one of the two preloads on the Pono the PJ20 shows or Wrigley Show! That would be Epic!

Now that would totally piss off ALOT of fan's here that are not getting one.

    I say .. DO IT!!! :P
    j/k

But I would really love to see 2 exclusive to Pono PJ albums that hasn't been released yet online on various websites that already offer 24Bit Flacs (aka HDtracks.com) that are included on the Pearl Jam PonoPlayers. Maybe both No Code & Yield @ 192kHz / 24 Bit Flacs? O:-)

This thread is driving me nuts! $400 seems like a lot for a player. You guys who already bought one will have to give us an unbiased opinion on it later this fall.

Could always try for the 200 early bird or 300 for a pono player. Which is not bad. Inferior iPods when they were first released were pretty much more expensive with less GB's included. It's pretty much 400 for the signature series.

You're right - and I did buy a 1st generation clickwheel iPod for around $279 new in our university's bookstore - but used student loan money in graduate school to do it. That sucker lasted a good 7 years without a problem. It wasn't until I started flying overseas to see my girlfriend that I discovered high altitude and moving parts in portable electronics don't go well together. My next iPod also suffered the same fate. Ah damn D! You are making a case for me to get one!

Project Update #19: International Shipping and European VAT
Posted by the PonoMusic Team ♥ Like
International Shipping Charges – Very Important!

You are responsible for adding $15 to your pledge total if your ship-to address is outside of the continental United States. Canada and Mexico are also international territories. If you have made multiple pledges using different Kickstarter accounts then be sure to add $15 to each pledge on each account with an international ship-to address. At the end of the campaign you will receive a Kickstarter survey where you'll be able to specify/confirm your mailing address. If the mailing address you provide is outside of the United States, and you have not added the $15 shipping charge, then we will not be able to ship you your reward. Please make sure you take care of this before the campaign is finished, as attempting to do it afterwards will be very challenging and will likely result in substantial additional charges.

    European VAT (Value Added Tax)

We have had numerous inquiries about VAT from our European backers. We have done extensive research to determine how we can best ease the burden of this tax on you. Our final conclusion is to follow in the footsteps of other successful Kickstarter campaigns:

    • For pledges with European shipping addresses only:

    ◦ We will ship packages via UPS with Collect Upon Delivery option.

    • We will declare the value of our rewards as follows:

    ◦ T-shirt and sticker: $15

    ◦ Poster, T-shirt and sticker: $20

    ◦ Black or Yellow PonoPlayer: $299

    ◦ Limited Edition PonoPlayer: $399

The research from other campaigns shows some inconsistency on the collection of this tax at the shipment address upon delivery—it is most often collected, and sometimes not. It seems to depend on each country and the luck of the recipients.

If you have the option to ship your rewards to a US address of a friend or family member, of course, this problem is eliminated. You are also free to cancel your pledge any time between now and the end of the campaign should the VAT process or cost be unacceptable to you. However, once the campaign ends, we will proceed to build and ship your product to you if your pledge has been paid.

We very much look forward to working with our supporters to revive the soul of music in the upcoming years.

    With our love and appreciation,

    The PonoMusic Team

Yes, scroll through the comments. Pono acknowledged the mistake and the price of $440 was wrong too. Look through the LE's and you'll see the zz top x of 500 offer

My bad - I went to the Pono site to check if Nirvana might have actually been added, just based on Kurts 20th death anniversary and when I did a search for "Nirvana" and it popped up, I thought it had happened. My trigger happy fingers - my bad. No Nirvana Pono's people. Continue on: business as usual.
