My opinion is that it's prettyvstange that the Pearl Jam fan club is now sending out non-Pearl Jam Christmas singles. It's about as Pearl Jam as Mirror Ball is (but not good). The B-side is absolutely unlistenable. Side A is Jay-Z.
This the worst one ever. I don't even want it. I'll probably just give it to a record store for free. Maybe some Jay-Z fan will buy it.
Agreed. A PJ holiday single should be PJ. If they covered those 2 songs, it would have at least been interesting. The B-side was more listenable for me than JayZ for sure. The B-side is just a goof, and they're having a little fun. But the A-side is some attempt at a serious collaboration. For me it is a total waste of time, and I won't be listening to either again.
The band must have gotten ahold of some bad crack when they were making that choice. I get why Eddie chose them, since he wants to be so hipster, edgy, too-cool-for-school. But why McCready, Ament, Gossard and Cameron went along with that is beyond me. Maybe Ed threw a tantrum. Either way, horrible choice. The good news is that 2014's sinigles can only be better with the low bar they set this year.

Don't do that. Sell it on ebay and pay off some of your tour expenses on your credit card.
Do you really think anyone would actually buy it?

Haven't you heard? PJ fans will buy ANYTHING.
And actually, I was figuring this might fetch high prices because of the Jay Z thing... surely his fans will only be able to get it off ebay? Of course, they might hear the other side and go "what the fuck is with this 'Pearl Jam' shit??"

YAWN....if you don't like the lyrics you can press fast forward.
Of course. But if we wanted to form an opinion we had to listen to it. I did. I'm glad I did so that I can say I heard this piece of "art" and don't need to again.

Thanks but no thanks. This is not even Pearl Jam. A wasted effort. If you havent listened to it; i dont expect you to understand. I dont like to post negative comments, but feel someone should rethink what goes into these "xmas" singles. Deep Magazine was one of the best yet however! Jmtc
The A side has some good WMA bas from Jeff, best parts of that side....

Well I didn't think I'd listen to it a second time, but it works better as a video. At least I get to look at Eddie. Still don't think it's appropriate for the PJ Xmas single.
I escaped it...a life wasted...I'm never going back again

I've been too busy this week to read/post much here so it was a complete surprise to me when I got it in the mail today. I love everything about this year's single. Now that I've come here and seen how many people hate it, I love it even more.
Had never heard 99 Problems and now that I have I won't be listening to it again. I like a few Jay-Z songs but this one sucks. The joke of a B-side is actually better.
Well...I mean I would have been fine with either of these non Pearl Jam novelties as the B side and an actual PJ song (live, cover, new tune doesn't matter) as the A side, but this just seems like somebody's idea of a bad joke to have these 2 songs together. I mean honestly Shattered is a comedy skit not a song and its not particularly funny.

I SO wish they had the entire Daughter/99 problems(tag) - would have made it so much more enjoyable to listen to!
I was there, as many of us were, and it was just insane, although I have had no prior, or future listening to Jay-Z since that night, until this vinyl came today!
"See the path Cut by the Moon, for you to Walk On"
Love 'Shattered'!! It's fun, and I actually really enjoy this Stones' song. Yeah kind of jokey, but it's a fun one. Plus that Jeanne (as Julie) really nails it.
"My brain's been battered, splattered all over... MANHATTAN."
Honestly it took me two listens to catch the "Raindrops... on roses!" references haha. I'm loving this!
Have not received it yet in Toronto. Anyone in Ontario get theirs yet? This is the kind of thing that makes me question my decision to continue with the "analog" membership. I got 99 Problems with this single. Maybe the visuals/artwork will be better than the audio. :P For the full membership renewal, did anyone get a tshirt or even stickers or patches? They used to do that and it was part of being an "analog" member. Hmmm...
