The idea that anyone is out of line for being disappointed by a hip-hop song and a Jean Tripplehorn song is laughable. Seriously, she is doing a Julie Andrews impression. On a Pearl Jam record. :fp:

Is it a big deal? No.

    Is it disappointing? Yes.

  • The way I see it: I like the idea of having PJ with JZ and I like funny stuff. This holiday single isn't as badass as a studio Of The Earth would be but hey I dig it
  • Wow 'Shattered' is pretty much unbearable. Why would they ever select this song to put on a single is beyond me.

I will say that since Jay-Z no doubt needed to sign off on this it is very cool of him to do so.

ummmm, they played WMA for a while before Jay-Z came out, but this single starts with only Jay-Z... it's a cool single but they cut out half of the experience! You can barely even tell that it's WMA the way this is presented.

    Yea that's lame

  • I think I got the wrong downloads. One of them is a guys singing over some guitars about 99 problems, but I don't hear any PJ. The other one is some woman singing. I think I heard Ed's voice at the beginning, but I can't be sure. Could someone please PM me the PEARL JAM songs from this years PEARL JAM holiday single. Thanks

I now have 2 of my favorite rock bands covering this song with Jay-Z himself. Phish did it in 2003 in Coney island (I was there). He came out and did big pimpin' and 99 problems with Phish. It was a riot.

It was a nice surprise to hear PJ playing it with him too. They did a great job with it.

Remember, after the 'last kiss' single exploded, pearl jam said they wouldn't try to do another commercially successful song as a fan club single, because they wanted the fanclub to have something special without the risk of it being played every 5 seconds on commercial radio.

you know, everyone complaining should not renew their memberships. the less of you that are in this club the better my seats will be on the next tour.

hate lightning bolt? dont buy it!
hate the holiday single? dont renew your 10c membership!
complain about the seats you get? - dont buy em! better seats for me!

    thanks for listening.

I am thankful these guys are together, still making great, relevant music, and appreciate their fans as much as they do.

when was the last time you saw the Stones do something cool for the fans without a ridiculous price tag involved?

I will never listen to these two songs again so it is a disappointment to me....

YES!! The Soundgarden King Animal demos that they released on vinyl I like better than the actual album version.
