What a bummer that there's not at least some new studio recording. Loved Better Things from a couple years ago and a lot of the earlier choices, covers and originals. Slapping live recordings on there two years in a row is just lazy.

Or a joke that they play with rappers and do private shows?
I know, right?? Rappers?? How dare they go outside of the box that is rock! Next thing you know they'll be collaborating with Cypress Hill and putting it on the soundtrack to a shitty Emilio Estevez movie! Then what will we do??!!

I hate to say this, but a lot of people in this thread seem to be displaying a similar sentiment... so... i guess it's my turn to be the PJ/10C defender...
... What a bunch of spoiled rotten brats we are to be complaining about the fact that an annual single is "live" recording and not a studio track...
Most bands don't release even 1/2 the live material that PJ makes available... For this reason we're now going to complain about the release of special material and call it lazy cause it's a live recording? There's obviously still a lot of work that went into this product for us... just the setup that went into making the recording possible is probably more work than 1/2 of us do in a year.
Fact is, the 2 tracks on this single will probably never be released via any other medium, so the band and/or 10C decided to make them available to us via this method. that's their prerogative.
Hate it or love it, but don't call it "lazy" just because it's a live recording. this band is anything but "lazy" when it comes to bootlegging and making live material available to us.
Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.
I'm actually afraid to listen to Shattered... I don't know if I can do it today.
I heard it once. Don't think I can hear it again.
OK I listened. So it's Jeanne Tripplehorn singing Shattered as Julie Andrews. Uh... Does this even count as Pearl Jam? I guess Eddie does the shidoobies.... but uh...
But man... Ain't Talking Bout Love would have been so much better to have on a 45.

Better Things has been one of my favorite songs to listen to the last year or two. Love it every time I hear it. Maybe my favorite Christmas single, though I still have a soft spot for Someday at Christmas, Santa God and Olympic Platinum.

ummmm, they played WMA for a while before Jay-Z came out, but this single starts with only Jay-Z... it's a cool single but they cut out half of the experience! You can barely even tell that it's WMA the way this is presented.

Can't stop listening to 99 Problems. I love this Christmas single release for that alone!

The idea that anyone is out of line for being disappointed by a hip-hop song and a Jean Tripplehorn song is laughable. Seriously, she is doing a Julie Andrews impression. On a Pearl Jam record. :fp:
The way I see it: I like the idea of having PJ with JZ and I like funny stuff. This holiday single isn't as badass as a studio Of The Earth would be but hey I dig it

This release couldn't be more perfect at this point of the bands career.
I don't understand 10c haters.
Shattered is quite interesting
This single may sit on the shelf for awhile. :corn:
its going up! up! UP! UP!
I'm actually afraid to listen to Shattered... I don't know if I can do it today.

It's harmless and a little funny but I didn't make it all the way through.
"...I changed by not changing at all..."
yeah...you can wait til tomorrow or next week/month
I heard it once. Don't think I can hear it again.
There were way too many incredible performances of songs new and old to throw something like that on a Christmas single. Disappointing really.

That's all that's showing up on my screen. Anybody know of a website to translate sheep bleating to english?
Worst single ever.
