I got 2nd row to the railing once at a ga show in barrie, but it was because there was a circle pit back then and I was able to work my way through the pit to get to the front, now there is no pits , I had phoenix ga there was no circle pit or nothing, to hard to get up front without a circle pit crowd surfing, and I don't feel like waiting in line 5 hours just to get the rail, that is pretty silly to me, plus don't you have to go the the bathroom at some point, like you like up at 3pm, show doesn't start till around 830pm, you not going to go to the bathroom for 8 and a half hours?
I prefer pits , to people jumping up and down, that's just silly, lets get some circle pits going again, spin the black circle is a great song for a circle pit
In conclusion, just bring back the seats so everyone can avoid all of this crap.

In Worcester (my only GA show), I totally thought this was a sanctioned thing. I also didn't realize that some people were leaving their spots once they got a number. The lady keeping the notebook told me she was done after 100 because it was getting out of hand. So needless to say we just sat in our spot for 4 hours. Looking back this pisses me off, but what can you do.
The part that pissed me off to no end was that once they started letting GA people in, they opened up a separate line to pat down females. That meant that lots of them got in ahead of us guys who had been waiting there much longer. Sorry, but that's complete bullsh*t. A separate pat down is ok, but it needs to be fed from the same line.
I ended up 3rd row Mike's side. I can't complain, but still...

Didn't this same thing happen on the European Tour in 2012? Lots of the same people were getting on the rail for every show as they were in the know. I remember a lot of people complaining but nothing was done about it.
I can tell you firsthand this will not fly in L.A. The venue is aware this has been going on and and will not allow any type of 'numbering' system for people to come and go as they please. If you choose to engage, be prepared for disappointment.
If you want to leave for a brief moment to use the restroom, grab some merch or refreshment, just get with the folks in line around you and I'm sure they'll be cool with it. Or, if you're with a group, make sure some other folks in your party remain in line and take turns. THAT is how GA is run.

I'm sad to say, but this is exactly what happened to me in Phoenix. It sucked. I miss when people were excited to hear the music, and weren't completely consumed with trying to get a freaking tambourine.
I showed up shortly after 6am for the Phoenix show and was the 6th person there, therefore when list was started later in the morning was 6th on the list. Left couple times to take a piss in bathroom that was 10 'feet away. Left for about 10 min to take merch to my hotel room at Renaissance right next door (other peeps took to their cars). Left for 20 min to get bite to eat. Other persons near me held my spot. Rest of time was there hanging in the so called line all day. Really wasn't a formal single filed line until after we got will call tickets and arena manager asked us to line up at gate 5. Everything was fine. Some people came by in the late afternoon claiming to not know about the list sign up. You see the same people standing around all day, just ask someone. Same thing like in Missoula, when people storm in at 3-4 pm acting like they fucking own the place complaining about list made by ten club members who have been there all morning. No one at least in the first 20 on list left for extended periods of time. How do you know who left and who stayed when you walk in at 3 pm???

The problem in Phoenix was that initially we were told that anyone could enter any gates for GA, which would have led to pushing, shoving, and stampede to get to the rail. Then they told us that all GA people would enter thru gate 5. Security led the line to the floor thru gate 5. But low and behold there were still some people who snuck thru the other gates at 6pm and ended up 3 rows back from the rail in front of others who had been in the GA lineup. That's the bullshit that happens when you have people that don't give a shit about any of it, and do whatever the fuck they want. It's not going to be resolved until Tenclub takes some kind of formal action like the process Bruce Springsteen apparently uses. So, ten club just make a formal process and tell the whiners to deal with it. Of course that's just gonna lead to more whining like what's been done about the lottery. :fp:
