Nation Not About To Start Giving A Shit About Canadian Politics

WASHINGTON—Despite Toronto mayor Rob Ford’s recent controversial admission to having smoked crack cocaine, Americans across the country confirmed Wednesday that, Rob Ford or no Rob Ford, there’s just no way they’re about to start giving a shit about Canadian politics—no way in hell. “Yeah, sorry, not happening,” said 37-year-old Harrisburg, PA resident Daniel Cooke, echoing the thoughts of millions of Americans who told reporters they will continue happily ignoring any and all stories about the Canadian government, the politics of Canada, or scandals involving Canadian politicians. “Frankly, that guy could have been having sex with an underage boy in the middle of a parliament meeting or whatever the hell they have over there and I still wouldn’t give a shit. I don’t know or care to know who he is, where he’s from, or what he did. What I do know is that if you think I’m going to start paying attention to what’s going on with politics in Toronto or Nova Scotia or Ontario City or wherever the fuck then you’re going to be very disappointed.” The U.S. populace went on to confirm that, unless Martin Short were to somehow be elected prime minister, their interest level in Canadian politics would remain at this level indefinitely.

Hearing reports that "organized crime" tried to buy the crack video..... That couldn't be good. Was the mob trying to protect their guy from leaving office? Protect themselves from losing the favours he did for them?

not sure crackhead was doing any favours for him ... he actually wanted to spend money to hire more cops but our police chief said we didn't need them ... :fp:

If he was doing favours for them, we wouldn't know anything about it.... But there has to be some reason the mob was interested in buying the video, and there are only so many possibilities there.

the likely explanation would be to blackmail the mayor!

Yeah, that's certainly possible, although that would be an extremely bold move. Although I find the other possibility every bit as likely, given who we're talking about. Who knows? ... we probably never will.

the line "more than enough to eat at home" means so much more when you look at the quote right about that line.

Just a shameless "See? My wife hasn't left me in disgust - how bad could I possibly be??" move. I'm more surprised that the wives are willing to do it.

  • I think the time is right for me to release the email I received of Rob's penis with a little shamrock lick n stick tattoo on it from St. Paddy's day. Although it would probably just get dismissed with all the rest of the stories going around. :)

In other news, Rob and his brother have been given their own show on Sun TV.

what a joke. i wonder if he is going to have his friends call in again like on his radio show and pretend that they are other people

First thing that came to mind :P

Sometimes it's hard to be a woman
Giving all your love to just one man
    You'll have bad times
    And he'll have good times
Doin things that you don't understand
    But if you love him
    You'll forgive him
Even though he's hard to understand
    And if you love him
    Oh, be proud of him
Cause after all he's just a man
  • I have to admit that the pussy comment on live radio/t.v., was a class act in itself. After hearing him say he has enough at home with his more than pleased wife standing by his side has to be one of, if not, the best press conference I have seen.

... but he's still getting paid, thats the sad part of this ordeal now. He knows he has no official power, probably been that way for a while, yet he's getting paid :? :? :?. And in my opinion all the provincial government has to do is introduce right to recall legislation ASAP, get it passed ASAP and let the voters of Toronto recall this guy ... IMO ... I do not understand what is wrong with giving the voters the right to recall rogue politicians?
