Some class pictures on that polish newspaper site!
the girl with the mohican has her arse on my head. hmmm, serves me right for wearin a dodgy checked shirt i suppose!

This is my first post, i'm normally a shy browser, but i just wanted to make a couple of points. Really don't wanna put people on a downer, because the band were class as usual.

but the organisation was very poor indeed, and i'm not talking about the distribution of TC tickets. We were front and centre on a diagonal section right next to the T. There was no front enclosure.... which means that everybody funneling into the ground from stone / boom side was heading staright for us on our little (5 person long) diagonal. I'm a big guy, and have plenty of front row gig experience, and plenty of difficult crushes in football (soccer) stadia. But this was the worst. I wasn't just worried about suffocating, because i'm tall and the barrier only came up to my waist. But i was worried about breaking bones. If you see those newspaper pics posted above, check out the one with the mohican crowd surfer. The two guys on the left got out after the second band, and i followed shortly after. Its the only time ive ever had to get out. If anyone in officialdom is reading this, please please try to avoid these situations... it can be done so easily with a limited enclosure capacity and wristbands.

but having said all that, the band were great, the jammers were great, Poland is great, and it was lovely to meet so many lovely people.

and if any of the Greek guys are on here, especially the big fella next to me, it was lovely to share body odours with you!!

    Pete.

    now...

i know a lot of PJ fans were disappointed with the short setlist, the Linkin Park fans, not to mention that hellish 18-hour bus ride from München over the Polish border...

    but....

    what a show!

yes Linkin Park did have a rather long set and we were so exhausted from the bus ride that i kept falling asleep standing up.

Thank You Sid for buying me that fake Polish Red Bull energy drink....

but in the immortal words of Jason from Touring Van 2000 fame, "Fuck it! let's go get drunk in the biergarten before the show and just have a good time". Yay for POLSKA!!

last year i had such an awful time in Berlin 2006 due to wanting to be on the rail all the, lusting for guitar picks, and what i call "poster angst"...

that i forgot to enjoy the incredible music around me and share it with the sweaty smelly fans around me!!

i felt SO let down after that last tour, really felt like i wasted a bunch of money and energy unjustifiably...

harsh truth is i almost gave up touring for this band, but München 2007 was positive that i made the right decision, and Katowice show only served to confirm it...

i mean c'mon! SOLAT und Spin the Black Circle back to back?!?!

fucking killer!! those are my favorite two PJ songs!!

Hail Hail, I Am Mine, Lukin, COMATOSE!!, Nothingman, Leatherman, ABITW pt. 2 tag, awesome version of Jeremy, und Indifference!!!

the setlist was short....but the energy, the fans singing along, the tangible smile on my sweaty face, the MAGIC was there!!!

thats what i missed so much from my days back in the Euro 2000 tour. just singing out to my favorite band, smiling and laughing like crazy, looking out for my friends in the pit so we were not seperated...i never even got bored!!

for those fans who braved the rail and Linkin Park's long set. i SALUTE you becasue i have been there with the bruises and guitar picks to prove it. but sometimes, personally for me the best PJ shows are the ones where you are not overtly concerned or stressed about being up front all the time.

since i am one of the shortest people on this PJ tour, i know how to work my way up to Mikey or Stoney side without HURTING people. it just takes a little effort and patience to get a really great view!!

see you all in London 2007!!

nope, I was standing on the in the middle of the crowd, on the right fence (where security was able to take out anybody from the middle), don't know how to precisely describe it...
doesn't matter....it only matters the short setlist end the end at 23:00hrs...

after that i took 20hrs long way home...combined bus and train..

see you all in London 2007!!

massive respect to you! :) I was sharing the same "hellish 18-hour bus ride" and don't know who you are, but you nailed the whole PJ histeria... I don't understand... we all have those giutar picks, shared glances with ed, communicating with mike and his pointing his hand in your direction, so why can't we now JUST ENJOY these shows like normal PJ freaks... first, we were standing near the fence, but when the show started we moved back cause otherwise we would finish outside the fence, which would be really shamefull for me... :) after that, when we had all the place in the world for ouselves we enjoyed the show to the fullest... I was jumping, throwing myself around and screaming my lungs out with every song... just had the perfect time... :)
... I surfaced and all of my being was enlightened...

  • It was my PJ show #31

    I have a cancer disease
I really was very happy to see them again

The set was amazing, too short but amazing

I am just 38 years old kid and no f****** organizers, LP fans or curfew could reduce my enthusiasm

    Special regards to Stone:
    a) for "fighting" with sound problems ("Black")
    b) for his new beard, we liked it

and to Ed .....for sending us kisses, that was sweet

    See U guys in London!
    Peace!

    Hello PJ fans!

That gig was my first opportunity to enjoy wonderful music of the greatest band in the world. Many great and unforgettable moments, although I wasn't standing near the stage. Mike's and Matt's Even Flow solo crushed me into the ground :D
Animal, Hail Hail and Corduroy was vivid as hell!

Many thanks for you guys who were there and shared your enthusiasm :)

    PS:

Reading all the post I sense all have been said I wanted to mention.
The PJ show was crazy, the sound and the intensity was incredible really...it was about to be the best show I'd been to but their set was so very short I could not believe (even after the 100 minute Madrid concert)!!! I don't put the blame on Linkin Park for having encore 'cos they were really good and many teenagers were there to see them live!

But IMHO Coma's performance was shameful and lame, their irritating frontman's pathetic lizard king-like movements (while imitating masturbation) were ridiculous (The band should get rid of that prick because he is a terrible singer as well). Without their hour long set both LP and PJ could have played more (the first Polish supporting act was WAY better and they only played a 22 minute set btw). Eddie looked very angry because of those reasons they had to stop!!! (So did the crowd...:o)

2 years ago in the same venue I got to see U2 and there were only beautiful and polite enthusiastic Polish people around me. I thought I would sense the same attitude at LP/PJ show this year but I was totally mistaken :p Moshing, crowd surfing and aggressive behaviour almost spoiled my PJ experience...there were very long terrifying minutes and that was the first PJ show I almost gave up my usual first row position... surviving seemed a real challenge many times and unfortunately standing in the 10c queue for like three hours, rushing in the bad direction and back plus keeping my good position at the front right barrier made it really hard to enjoy the entire show which was actually fantastic, moving and fabulous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There are still aching bruises on my body but I am happy for I'm still alive and could be part of the absolutely amazing 90 minutes!!!
WHIPPING, NOTHINGMAN, I AM MINE, REARVIEWMIRROR and JEREMY were (on their own) worth enough goin' through all that shit! Thanx to the band for the magical performance, I did feel they really wanted to make it a special night again!!! Mike and Jeff were dancing like drunken but funny teenagers, Ed's vocals were beautiful despite his self critiicism and Matt was on fire as well- they blew away even the memories of the Linkin Park concert!
(Stone looked very passive and shy, IMHO he had no interaction with anyone of the crowd - did you guys notice that?)

PS.: Although I still believe Polish are the most amazing people I've met in the last 15 years I FINALLY:) managed to meet a real dickhead who tried to get our position and push me and my friends away from the first row by all fuckin' means (!!!)... in spite of the fact we were die hard but unharmful fans while that prick didn't know about ANY of the songs played there! Finally he was taken out (before the first encore) because at least 6 people were really angry and furious because of his violent presence!!!

The concert was really great. Short gig? With 21 class songs??! Come on. I now what short is: waiting for Guns&Roses for 4 hours for just a few songs the last time in Budapest....

Thanks Poland, You guys really know how to treat tourists. We visited Krakow too, what a beautiful city! Thanks again.

It was relatively short - compared to previous years' tours! In Vienna they played an impressive set of 29 songs (135 minutes)!

I was there in Papp Laszlo Arena for Guns N' Roses at the front last year...yes, we had to wait 4 hours and they started very very late but they played exactly:o 2 hours ;: (while PJ' set in Poland lasted only 90 minutes:mad: )

    [No offence, man ]

Thats the lamest thing I´ve ever heard, then play a f-cking smaller venue earlier next time. Sure their humans but if you have a "job" like them, u have a responsibility against 30000 fans.

But it was really beutiful 90 min we got, but still.

    Hey!

Okay, the show was shorter than usual but it was still great, songs like nothingman, rearviwmirorr, i am mine, indifference etcetc and the band's energy made it look and sound longer. We drove 8 hours to hear them and I'm happy with the whole show.

Could somebody tell meg what Eddie said in polish? There was noone around me to translate!

ps. I was also there at the guns show, but I still think it wasn't worth waiting 4 hours. they sucked. mainly the band was bad, axlrose was okay. I could never compare these two shows.

Ok, the show was just great, I must admit it ... at first I was mad about the lehgth of the concert, about organization about Coma and LP and what not... but now, after a couple of days, when I'm back home and I can look at things with distance, I think of the gig all the time I and I've got only positive feelings about it. Any awesome moments? Practically every moment was unforgettable, even the songs I'm not especially keen on enchanted me somehow. And my special moments (not very original I suppose :)) were of course State of Love and Trust, Even Flow, Jeremy, Animal, Black and Indifference (though Ed forgot the lyrics, as usual:) It was almost like my first PJ show when I was in a kind of trance, screamin my lungs out and having tears in my eyes... I haven't thought it might happen ever again but it did and I'm really grateful to YOU guys for such a great performance, energy and heart ... :)

True, true... and I must just say it, though I really admire Stone for all his beautiful tunes. His behaviour on stage doesn't fit ... For God's Sake, the rest of the band, even Matt behind his drums, is so vital and so in the rock'n'roll mood and Stone ... ? Why must he be so OLD (if I can call it like that :))? In this straw-like hat he reminds me of a sage with his guitar, playing blues in his rocking chair down the Mississippi River .... I'm saying it half-jokingly since the way he behaves doesn't really matter. The music is what matters most. And besides I've been PJ fan for such a long time that I must forgive them (Stone especially :)), everything, even their getting older ... :)

Okay...i was at this show...and i haven't read each reply yet...so i apologize if some of what i am saying was already stated.

to me the goodness of this show was hanging out with friends i met on the tour...and directly at this show. i had the best spot ever for a show...at the barrier between Ed and Stone...almost right at the corner of the T...but I wasn't able to make it through in this spot to the PJ set because it was too violent in the crowd. i made it past Coma, but right after Coma left the stage there was a surge in the crowd and i thought i was going to die so i asked the security to pull me out. :(.

anyway. kerensa visited the front row before any bands started playing and said that "they" (i assume the band and their gear) didn't leave Munich until 3 AM and they arrived in Katowice at 2 PM. the PJ crew was setting up through the first two bands and then took a while after LP played to finish setting up.

ed said that he didn't get much sleep and needed help with Nothingman...which i thought he did fine with...but it was apparent through the show that ed's voice was not 100%. i took the short set as a result of ed not feeling well. he seemed genuinely disappointed that the band couldn't play longer...specifically he said that there were a number of reasons why they had to get going...but i think he felt bad about his part in it. there were extra things done to make the show more special, like the improv and allowing the song selection for the 100th show for Jason. all in all, if ed felt anything like i felt, i can understand why he wasn't 100%. we waited in line for the Munich show all day...freakin ROCKED out the show in Munich...then had a bus ride from Munich to Katowice that took about 14.5 hours...no showers...jump in line...wait in the hot sun...get crushed by linkin park fans...it was a hell of a 48 hour period for those of us following the tour...but we got by with a little help from our friends and we survived.

one of the best moments of the show was when ed (a la a symphony conductor) conducted the crowd during one of the songs...i cannot remember which song it was...but he was up there motioning with his arms and the crowd was right along with him...it was a synergy...and we were acting as a surrogate as he couldn't belt it out as he normally would.
