I don't put the blame on Linkin Park for having encore 'cos they were really good and many teenagers were there to see them live!
I've heard that u'd been singing along all the lyrics with all those crazy kids...might be an urban legend :D:D
I am forever grateful to this band for giving us their ALL every single night and offering me such a wonderful gift - MUSIC, music that allows me to feel all that I want to feel, music that makes me strong in times of weakness, music that gives me joy in times of sorrow - SammieBlack
Release as an opener and Indifference as an ending song - personally I can't imagine anything better.
Other songs they didn't play - Sad, Alone, RITFW, Last Kiss, Hide Your Love Away - awesome!
Plus things they played - Improvisation, Daughter with ABITW ending, I Am Mine, Given To Fly, Spin The Black Circle, State Of Love And Trust & Lukin and some hits such as Black, Jeremy.
Of course the best set would look something like this: Release, No Way, Love Reign O'er Me, Crown Of Thorns, Garden, Indifference, Rats, Sad, Alone, I Got Shit, Masters Of War etc. etc. But.. It's impossible I guess
"How much difference does it make? Fuckin' tell them!" Eddie, Chorzów 13/06/2007
Typical set with nothing mind boggling or really rare.
maybe, but i dont think the setlist had to have a lot of rare songs to be special, it depends on how the songs are played and in which order, and i think the songs like nothingman, leatherman or i am mine are pretty rare, and even i said when all the songs have been played...that means, ghost, alone, hide your love....release as an opener....come on this would be a very nice set....

I never said anything was wrong with it, but it is no where near the best set ever. Nothing out of the ordinary there, and that does happen from time to time.
Main Set: Rearviewmirror, Animal, Hail Hail, Corduroy, Given To Fly, Worldwide Suicide, Small Town, I Am Mine, Lukin, Evenflow, Comatose, Nothingman, State Of Love And Trust, Spin The Black Circle, Severed Hand
Encore 1: Leatherman, Daughter / (Another Brick In The Wall Pt. 2), Whipping, Black / (We Belong Together), Jeremy
Encore 2: Indifference

no, it's not...I was quite enthusiastic about them (am a fan since their first hit) although I fought for my own life at the very front!!!

All my mates told me that i should have been very disappointed for travelling (and boring in the park :() 16 hours for only 105 mins...but im not...I SAW THOSE SIX MEN PLAYING, WORKING, LIVING FOR US AGAIN!!!
THANK YOU lilinger FOR THIS GREAT ATTITUDE. ITS JUST AS MINE AND GUESS MUCH MUCH DIFFERENT FROM ALL THOSE FANS WHO HAVE TIME AND MONEY TO TRAVEL WITH BAND, SCREAMING THEIR COUTRYS NAMES WHILE IN POLAND - AMONG PEOPLE WHO WAITED 7 YEARS TO HOST pj GUYS ON OUR LAND. NOW AND HERE THING AND SENSE ITS JUST FOR US (NOT CONCERT nr 100) WAS VERY IMPORTANT FOR US THERE
JUST AS WE THANK ALL FORIGNERS FOR PUSHING, JUMPING FROM D BACK, AND SPEAKING LOUD WHEN ED WAS TALKING TO US IN POLISH...
YOU ARE ALWAYS WELCOMED BUT AS A GUESTS ON SOMEBODY ELSES CONCERT. sorry

now it's time for me to interfere: i stood in the 1st row on the left side and can't remember any international fans being that rude. everyone was looking after the other. i had only poles in my back - and the very vast majority was from poland and that's a fact!
The Russians were morons. The Poles were even worse. Not to mention people from UK.. Bla bla bla.. Start a new thread about it..
Oh.. there are always some idiots in the crowd. Does it make any difference what country are they from? It says nothing about rest of the people from the country where the concert is beeing held.
What counts is a great fuckin' show.
PS. sorry to all Russian, Poles and people from UK for taking them as example - u're all great
"How much difference does it make? Fuckin' tell them!" Eddie, Chorzów 13/06/2007
yeah come on chaps, this aint about nationality.
it was VERY difficult on the front row, but thats down to a mixture of reasons, and not simply down to nationality.
after spending 5 great days n poland, i've come to regard the locals as amoung the most hospitable in Europe.
lets stop the mudslinging.
Majority of the fans around me at the front were Polish, true...all very enthusiastic but individually not really rude at all, only the big groups of fans were responsible for pushing waves, moshing and dangerous crowd surfing (it should be banned everywhere!!!)...rarely me and my friends could barely breathe!
Security guys and girls were absolutely kind and helpful, however to tell the truth they could not handle and control the situation at all, that's for sure! People were out of control (the same crowdsurfer people returned at least 3-4 times!!! how could that happen in a safe show?)
After LP show ended (what we thought would be a reborn for our bones and lungs), all the strong and dynamic Linkin teens asked sec guards to pull them out above our heads instead of returning and leaving the venue how everybody else does it...it was a nonsense situation and really painful for the people at the front for at least 15 minutes!!!
When those kids disappeared and we hoped for some calm and peace at the front, a very tall and agressive person appeared from the back and tried to push us away from the first row barrier by all means...we asked him to stop that but refused communication at first...after that everyone around me slowly started wanting to beat him up because of his unacceptable behaviour (causing different pain for us and being extremely rude verbally later as well). This motherfucker did not know ANY (!!!) single Pearl Jam songs, but he wanted to force us, REAL FANS to get out of his way...by the way he was a local guy;), of course it has nothing got to do with the Polish people who are really kind usually IMHO, it's not about stereotypes, I know there are many aggressive/flegmatic assholes at every concert (last time in Madrid) who try to do their best to fuck up other people's long awaited (Pearl Jam) shows:(...shame on these bloody dickheads!
hopefully this thread won't go in a wrong direction (Polish vs. other fans), we should not let it happen! Peace

it is not about nationality
just that this was Polish concert and attitude of some touring fans is just not cool.
belive me - seeing my 3rd concert of PJ in my homeland = having PJ guys as a guests on our landmeans (don't want to hit too high tones, but here it works and feels as something like this) - for me is much much more that to those who spend their live in PJ fan comune, comparing setlist and medleys and number of pics and tamburins they have...
just difference in perspective.
ppl in PL are different and thats a fact. concerts in PL are different and i wasnt them to stay like tat.
no resson to fight. solat.
JUST AS WE THANK ALL FORIGNERS FOR PUSHING, JUMPING FROM D BACK, AND SPEAKING LOUD WHEN ED WAS TALKING TO US IN POLISH...
YOU ARE ALWAYS WELCOMED BUT AS A GUESTS ON SOMEBODY ELSES CONCERT. sorry
I managed to get into 3rd row during PJ and I know exactly what you're talkin about and I agree with you except that no foreign fans did it. Most of the were polish and most of them were Polish LP fans.
They just can't enjoy the show. I don't call this enjoy. It was totaly crazy. I think I'll never again go to Pearl Jam concert in Poland.
After LP show ended (what we thought would be a reborn for our bones and lungs), all the strong and dynamic Linkin teens asked sec guards to pull them out above our heads instead of returning and leaving the venue how everybody else does it...it was a nonsense situation and really painful for the people at the front for at least 15 minutes!!!
yeah...exactly...
14 greeks were in the front raw....
it was like this...
next time i'm going to shows with just one good band for opening act...or no opening act....
Marseille, Paris, Bologna, Verona, Milan, Torino, Pistoia, Zagreb, Athens....2006
Katowice....2007
no no no

Sorry but that just plain bullshit for me. You act like you're so special - "we're different" - so what? you think we are any better? "much more to me" - yeah, like you know what it means to other, and that part
YOU ARE ALWAYS WELCOMED BUT AS A GUESTS ON SOMEBODY ELSES CONCERT. sorry
just prooves that you're kind of person I would never like to drink beer with - just a moron.
Speaking about the fans. Sorry to say but most (or actually all) the assholes in the audience were Poles. That was a great disappointment for me as I thought our audience is pretty good (Katowice 2, 2000), guess I was wrong.
I lie to myself that it would be different if there would be a separate section in the front or they wouldn't play in the venue that big...
And as I mentioned before all of you'd be warmly welcome next year in Budapest.
I am forever grateful to this band for giving us their ALL every single night and offering me such a wonderful gift - MUSIC, music that allows me to feel all that I want to feel, music that makes me strong in times of weakness, music that gives me joy in times of sorrow - SammieBlack
I was there in Slaski Stadium in 2005 - it was the best U2 show I've ever been to...there were MANY highlights...Bono talking about John Paul II who kinda "stole" his sunglasses...during New Year's Day the entire stadium became a huge national Polish flag (still gives me chills)...etc...the crowd was absolutely peaceful and polite but VERY enthusiastic and loud at the same time... I told it to everyone I met later how pretty cool to be in Poland for a concert...same attitude in Depeche Mode shows there... LP / PJ was a total opposite experience...Thank God noone got hurt seriously...I would not have been surprised if they had...I strongly think security service was out of control...we were let in the stadium 70 minutes later than scheduled!!!...the promoters should have thought about that these main acts and their fanbases don't fit at all (Incubus would have been a lot more fitting supporting act)...and if all the crowdsurfers had been taken out of the stadium for good > average LP/PJ fans would have enjoyed the ENTIRE shows!!!
All in all: Pearl Jam was fantastic in Katowice, the best one of the three I've been to so far this year despite all the bullshit that happened then and before!

come on guys what are you talking about,if you have 45000 people behind you you cant expect that in the front rows it will be easy...i was almost in the front sector and during RVM and animal it was crazy but than it was for me just a rock concert....
The main problem wasn't the fact that it was so hard to stay in the first rows - the problem was lack of respect for other people, rudness, guys trying to get to the first rows by pushing away people that were already there, guys crowdsurfing with military shoes - that sort of things. Then again, it's not that "there were 40000 people there, so of course it was hard in the first row" - that doesn't justify anything. Did I have to remind about Rosklide?

surprising - most of the audience in poland was polish! c'mon!! you always have the good&bad&ugly at every concert,
if you want to watch the show in peace - don't ever pick the front row, are you all new in this business or what???
Yeah, right - seems that's true, but only on Pearl Jam shows in Poland. I was on many concerts of many other bands, in Poland, and in other countries and it was never like that. Actually, being in the first row was always easy, in Milan, in Lisbon, in Berlin, in many other places - there were some small problems here and there, but generally all very friendly and polite, enjoying the show with much respect to other persons around. Second row - now, that's were the problems start
surprising - most of the audience in poland was polish!
Learn to read - I wrote it just because some guy claims it was foreigners who were the bad guys.

as an old punkrocker i've seen it all everywhere where i've been to
honey, ridiculous is when you create stereotypes like "polish fans are rude and violent" because you had some problems with them
they are not very different from any other nations, you were just unlucky enough to experience this behaviour from poles,
trust an older friend and don't write that sort of crap at the international forums, end of subject
