The gig was incredible, using RVM to open just dictated the tempo for the rest of the show. I couldn't believe they followed SOLAT with Spin The Black Circle, it was just insane. I was near the front but just went to the side of the GA area before Pearl Jam hit the stage and it was a good choice because I could see the stae clearly, hear everything perfectly and there was room to dance and or the majority of the set go a little bit nuts :D
It will hit people that the set was short, and yes it was but the content more than made up for it. The problem was that the guys hit the stae late and the curfew meant they had to cut the set, I spoke to another jammer after the gig who got a copy of the original set from Kerensa and the songs that weren't played that were meant to included Ghost, Release, Alone, Alive, RITFW, Crazy Mary (I think, someone confirm please) and a few others that I cannnot remeber. Honestly though, the set they played was not lacking in the slightest. During the main set Ed came out with a sign that was handed to him by someone who was there for their 100th PJ show and talked about how cool it was for someone to do that and that the friends this guy made meant the rowd and everyone cheered. After Daughter Ed walked to the microphone and said to the crowd that to celebrate the guys 100th show he'd let him pick a song, Whipping was a good fucking choice :D
Right this is barely a review but I haven't slept in 22 hours and Ive got to catch a flight. See you in London!

  • i'd like to hear some opinions about the crowd yesterday ... normally im a really tough chick, and definitely not the kind of person who has to be taken out, especially not from the front row, but yesterday i was literally on the verge of death several times ... it was total crazyness!!! (i was hanging in there though, when pj came on stage i didnt care anymore... :))

    it was total crazyness!!!

that's pretty much correct like! we ended up at the side for pearl jam themselves cos we tried to keep places near the front during linkin park but it was impossible to remain there without being totally ended. the crowd was utterly packed out and the organisation of the venue wasn't exactly 100% perfect.

but i think we can all say that the set more than made up for it = )
    heh, keep her lit.

yeah the crowd was totaly insane, i was prayin that they would start with some slow tune, but they hit it right with rvm. hell unleashed :) i remeber being 10m from the stage (mike´s side) and during the firts minutes of the song ended another 10m farer from the stage. they were playing pretty heavy stuff. the band was totally on fire, i couldnt believe my eyes how full of energy they were. the even flow was the best point of the show, the solo was totaly insane, mike really ripped. shame about the short set.

a little bit of a sudden-death shock (congressus interruptus) when it was really over after indifference.. way too early.. but an excellent show, anyways.
quite bitter having to exeprience two loooong (or "too loooong" - pun intended) afternoon sets from mediocre local bands plus a full concert set by linkin park (stealing time while stressing praise and respect for pearl jam several times between songs.. and what was it -- "we have the fuckin' greatest fans in the world" - are you kiddin? especially when all the jammers are present?) just to be spared a proper pj experience wich was clearly in the air (given the atmosphere, the crowd response, the setlist, and the rather unique "intimate" vibe after half of the lights went out).
well, big "thanx" to the organisers..
(next time, guys, remember ..they say timing is everything..)

    three queries:

any info on the improv after leatherman, anybody?
and why exactly was the crowd chanting "sto lat"? somebody's birthday?
and who is the guy whose 100th show it was? does he attend the message pit sometimes? can he be reached? would love to ask him a couple of things.. :)

oh well, so I got up even more pissed off than I was when I went to sleep. now after reading what they were supposed to play later in the show I'm just beyond pissed off, I'm simply enraged and reached my limit with disapointment...
so what - yes, the show was good, yes the guys had loads of energy and even ed (despite his own words) was in excellent form - but it doesn't change the fact that this show will be go down in history as the longest wait for the shortest PJ show ever! I blame the organisers, I blame linkin park, I even blame pearl jam for agreeing to such conditions.
really, it just fucking sucks and is disrespectful towards all these fans who came from all over poland + other countries to listen to a full-time concert. now we'll feel even more bitter reading setlists like munich's and others to come.

since the words mean exactly 'may they live a 100 years' we sort of sing it on many occasions, not just birthdays - just to show that we like someone and wish them well

I guess release was the song that scrathced off right before the show :(

    What could have been ....
More like "what will be", having seen Munich's setlist and the original setlist for last night I have no doubt that they are pulling out all the stops on this tour, I have a feeling that there is so much more to come :)
Though I agree if they had of played the original uncut set, we would be hard pressed to find a better set throughout the last few tours, ah well, the set they played was still blinding I mean SOLAT and STBC side by side?! I love this band :D

I am really looking foward to Wembley but I don't think it will be THE show of the tour, before this started I pegged Katowice, Copenhagen and Nijgemen and having seen the Katowice original set Im sticking with that. What I think will make Wembley special will be more the atmosphere and potential special guests, I definately think theres a chance of some 'friends' of the band helping out on Love Reign O'er Me ;)

Well after last night the only songs I am aching to hear, the ones I want the most are, In My Tree, Red Mosquito and SAD and judging by the two solo show sets there is more than a slight possibility of getting what I want :D:p

By the way, anyone catch the Johnny Cash version of Rusty Cage by the first support band? It was a decent rendition.

Leaky Park wasn't the probl;em in and of itself (though I hated it). PJ's equipment only arrived at the venue during LP's set. They had to build it up after LP left the stage- on time even. The LP fans were crap and I think they were just up for thrashing around and crowdsurfing during PJ's set, but I wouldn't blame that on Leaky Park.

To clarify, on the setlist but not played were:

    Release to open
    Ghost after Corduroy
    Not For You after Lukin
    Alone after Comatose
Low Light was an alternative to Nothingman
Betterman as the alternative to Daughter
    Life Wasted after Black
Hide Your Love or Soon Forget to open the 2nd encore
    Last Kiss or Indifference
    Alive after Jeremy
    RITFW after Alive
Yellow Led as an alernative to Indifferce

I can't stress enough how awful that crowd was. I'm in such pain today and it was horrible seeing so many dedicated fans having to get pulled out before PJ even hit the stage. Last night was a real struggle, and quite a let down experience-wise from Munich. Not the boys fault though, they did their best with crap planning. I'll lookinmg forward to resting up before Wembley though.

  • Well the show was simply fantastic. Why are people so concerned about what they were meant to have played, when the set that was played was awesome and anybody who was there must have enjoyed it.
Highlight: jeremy - my favorite song ever so hearing it live for the first time was awesome and the crowd was realley into it. The whole show was awesome from start to finish.
Would have to say that there was a few problems during the set though.
Stone began to strum the first chords of black when the sound just f*****. But they played it proper later on.
Lights went and they had to go off stage half way through the main set.
As mentioned somewhere else LP had far too much crap on stage which resulted in it taking a very long time to pack away and get PJs stuff ready, they only got on stage at 9:30 hence if there was a curfew (11:00) why they only played 22 songs.
I think the main problem was they played Munich the night before and they just weren't able to prepare it as theyed liked.
As for the crowd it was pretty much completly packed. there was quite a lot of seats left though.
Bring on the next show WEMBLEY

Just got back home right now. Well Katowice was so fucking great, I was hoping for some Yellow ledbetter, but it doesn't matter, cause most of my favorites were being played in Munich. I mean Katowice was such a great experience for me. For the wery first time I was in the first row. And for the very first time Mike pointed with finger on me and for the very first time i caught his pic. It was so awsome. I'm so glad that I finally heard Nothingman. I also met so many great people, I would also like to thank them. And yeah, of course. To Pearl Jam. Again. I can't remember if I've ever cried on a concert before. What a perfect day was this wednesday for me.
Today is the new day, well this is the end of year's tour for me. Hoping for some more in the future. asap....
    I just want to scream...
    ...hello!!!
My god its been six years...
    never dreamed...
    ...you'd return.

Yeah... just back back...was one row behind the barrier for the whole day

    I ache... :(

I think Coma played for longer than they were supposed to too so combination of things lead to the shorter set, shame but still some great choices in there...

none of it really, the residential area wasnt THAT close to the stadium, and i strongly hesitate that they would use the cannos in case pj played an hour longer. thats complete bullshit.
