I don't get the problem with getting to Wrigley. We took the EL and didn't have any problems when I was out there. Public transportation is a wonderful thing.0

that's what we ended up doing. I'm lazy though, so I will always take what I think is the most convenient route. Our hotel wasn't really close to any train stops, so I figured it would be easiest to take a cab. Huge mistake...took us close to 2.5 hours to get down there once we got a cab and got shot down by the cab driver. Damn right I made him drive us to the train station though.0 -

Haha, wait, I remember the stop I got off at was right across the street from the ballpark.
Those some expensive cab rides.0 -

I meant going from our hotel to wrigley. Was only about $15 (went over there weds and thurs to try to get merch...ended up in bars instead).
You should have seen the subway...mad house. Nothing like the smell of hundreds of sweating MFers pressing up against each other in a confined space.0 -

Good luck. The day I flew home from mine is still the most painful day of my life. My then-fiance wanted to take me to the hospital. I don't think I can ever do 3 nights in Vegas again....at least not when I'm there for a dudes trip.0 -

flights home from vegas are the only times I have ever hoped for a plane to crash. those trips are great until that flight home0 -

yeah, 4-5 hours and it was hotter than hell. Needless to say, I never got a t-shirt...and I won't lose any sleep over it.
During delay I just went to the capt morgan bar, which was located right behind our section (I was in first row on the concrete wall around the field in section 140...great seats. people behind us were from Drexel Hill, which was pretty cool -- and crazy). It surprisingly wasn't that crowded in there. I think most people hung out in the concourses, which seems ludicrous to me.
We bolted for the exits right after the last song. Got on first train outta there. Was much easier getting out than it was getting to wrigley friday afternoon. Had a cab driver flat out tell us that he wouldn't take us there because traffic was too bad (after trying to get a cab for almost an hour). We really are lucky to have the sports/entertainment setup that we do in philly. Super convenient compared to other cities
Concert was great, but definitely not the best I've been to. I thought PJ20, any MSG show, spectrum were all better. Crowd was pretty tame (maybe I'm just used to the NE crowds)...I think there were a lot of people there because they could afford tix, not because they were die hard fans. I know the show went til 2 am, but there should NEVER be people sitting during Porch.
the concourses were driving me insane. i was getting claustrophobic. luckily the wife had the foresight to purchase a couple ponchos earlier. so we waited out most of the delay behind the visitors dugout.
you're lucky you got out so quickly after ritfw. we milled around on the field for a bit waiting for the place to empty. when we got out, it was so late, people were saying the trains weren't running anymore...or were but were few and far between. so i said "fuck it, we'll find a cab somewhere." turns out that was a bad idea. there was hardly any and there were thousands of pj fans fighting for them
so an hour later after roaming the streets of chicago in the middle of the night with a scared for her life wife, we stumbled upon a limo driver who asked if we needed a ride. 60 bucks later we ended up back at our hotel. didn't get back till quarter after 4. i was mentally preparing myself to walk all the way back. fucking weird night.
epic show because of the circumstances...but the fact that they were forced to leave off 7 or 8 songs keeps it down a few notches for me. stupid weather.Post edited by The Juggler onwww.myspace.com0 -

Fuckin' A. A plane ride home from Vegas is the complete opposite of the plane ride to Vegas. All I can think about is curling up in the fetal position, crying, and telling myself how awful a human being I am.
God, I miss Vegas.0 -

That's what I did on the way back from mine. No point in delaying the flight until later in the day because you are going to be completely miserable either way. Plus, you get home at 5-6pm as opposed to 9-10 pm which is just brutal. Where you guys staying at?0 -

Completely agree. That's why we did it. Just the MGM. Decent priced suite. Didn't want to go too crazy on the room. Very pumped.0 -

Hey, don't knock MGM. That lazy river is the shit. Along with that sportsbook and poker room.0 -
Stayed at the MGM about 10 years ago. Loved it. If/when I go back, I'd definitely stay there againwww.myspace.com0

Yeah, man. I like MGM, a whole lot. Definitely a good sports book. Where I stayed when I went out for the Super Bowl this year. Just not one of the new shiny ones.0 -
Anyone hitting MMJ on sunday?
It's sad that the phils aren't even mentioned in this thread anymore...they're really not worth talking about. I hope amaro gets hit by a bus...preferrably before he screws up this trade deadline0 -
How can you pretend to be in it and put out a lineup like last night. Delmon is hitting better than Dom now and Martinez is back. If Dom is out, who is going to want to see this team play?Alright, alright, alright!

How is Martinez on any roster above that of a semi pro league?www.myspace.com0 -

Same for delmon young.
That play by mayberry last night was tremendous. I'm still laughing. If that doesn't prove that he can't play CF I don't know what does.
This franchise is a disaster...trade everyone. Start with the dumb ass GM.
Apparently they are working on an extension for utley. Not sure why he would want to stay here. This team is gonna suck for a long time0 -
utley locked up for 3, $45
more per year than pedroia got. amaro is so fucking bad0
