I hear you. To be honest I need nothing more than a decent room with a clean bed within walking distance to the venue and didn't see anything better than the $127.80 AAA rate I reserved at the Days Inn in the same vicinity. I also don't want to stay downtown and cab/subway over to the venue and prefer not to drive over either. For my specific situation I think I'll absorb the reality of not staying at the Hyatt again like I did in '09.

I just booked at the Hyatt Regency @ $169 per night. I guess that isn't too bad for downtown Chicago on a weekend.

Same here....booked for 4 people at $219 a night which may seem steep, but is actually really good for a a 4 star hotel in downtown Chi Town on a weekend as you said. $52 a night for parking does suck though......

With the cost of gas, driving from PA, and the $104 parking I'm starting to look for flights. Although, there are garages in the area that seem to have somewhat cheaper rates.

They do, and the hotel told me there are some parking garages near by that charge $20 a day, but they are not 24 hour overnight parking....so it's a lost cause.

Thanks for the tip. I went 105 and scored it. I stayed there last month and was pretty happy with the room and location.

The current plan for me is the 18th - 20th. I may extend it and stay until Sunday. I haven't booked my flight yet, so it's still a little open. I am definitely down for some partying the night before.

YOOOOO! How's it going my friend? I'm thinking about staying in the city that weekend but I may stay in the Rosemont area and hiring the hotel shuttle to take us to Wrigley for the show (connections :shh: ) Keep in contact as the show show gets closer!

I visited Chicago and stayed at the Hotel Monaco (it is about 5 miles from Wrigley Field). The decor at the hotel is pretty garish and not my style, but if you book the river view room, you get a fantastic window seat. You can even request a goldfish for your room, and if you join their loyalty program you get complimentary wifi, cupcakes on arrival and a little voucher for the mini bar.

Or my other suggestion would be to look on www.airbnb.com for accommodation :).

What's up my man??!! Ya know, I had a feeling you'd be going to this as well. A lot of planning to do, but we gotta ake sure we meet up at one of the many parties going on. Right now the plan is staying at the Hyatt. I know this is right in your old stomping grounds, and I'm sure this will be an even greater time than Vegas.....if that can be even topped! Keep in touch as we get closer to the show.....a lot of planning to do my friend!

Having already stayed at the Hotel Felix in Chicago I can tell you the rooms at this property are tiny!

On the plus side: we found the hotel property to be clean & well-kept, I was able to park the car for free overnight in front of the hotel for an evening, and there's a parking lot around the corner where I was able to get a discounted parking rate for 2 days. Otherwise, it has to be said you'll be crammed into the small rooms as has been mentioned.

I am currently booked at the Hyatt for July 18-21. Looks to be a great location. Also looked at the River Hotel. which is a little cheaper, anyone stayed there? Rooms seem small but that doesn't bother me. Looks like a good group at the Hyatt so far.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of
arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to
slide in sideways, BBQ sandwich in one hand, cold beer in the other,
body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "Woo Hoo what a

Seems to be a lot of negative reviews of the place.

If you're looking on google+ one of those glowing negative reviews is mine.

I stayed there last year with friends of mine for lolla... booked through priceline, and they treated me like a 3rd class citizen. I was not fucking impressed for the $180+/night that I paid.

The rooms are fucking tiny. and by tiny I mean there is no where to put your bag on the floor without having to walk over it to get to the bed. I literally had to jump over the toilet to get into the shower... and the shower was the biggest open space in the entire hotel.

If you are planning on staying with someone else who is not your wife or significant other, I would book somewhere else, because you will be on top of each other the entire time you're in the room.

Also - i remember being told for a hotel with like 20 floors and several hundred rooms, they have 7 rooms with 2 beds in them... and if you booked through priceline they will not reserve you one of those rooms because they consider them "luxury"...

Basically they label themselves as a boutique hotel so that they can be 4 star without having to provide any of the amenities associated with a 4 star hotel.

After spending 4 nights sleeping with my male traveling companion in a room barely bigger than the bed that was in it I was rotted. By the end of the trip with 4 other guys, every time someone said the word "boutique hotel" I was getting punched somewhere on my body.

the hyatt regency is the way to go...

thinking i'm going to book 18th-20th here today...

Booked at the Hyatt for Sat and Sun, seemed to be one of the cheaper hotels out of the ones I called and good location. Should be a great time !! Is it to early to start getting excited !

Friday night I'm staying at the Days Inn close to Wrigley, so I can walk (stumble) back to my room without getting lost. :D . They funny Thing is that the Hyatt has the same rooms for cheaper.

    Hey Guys,

After reading this tread its seems like there are a few jammers staying at the Hyatt. I would suggest to get a head count to see how many rooms there will be staying there....REASON being you need to get at least 10 plus rooms BECAUSE you all can get a little better price on the rooms!!! You will need someone to call a sales person over there..this is another way to get a cheap room and also the more rooms you can get you can also ask the sales rep to see if they can discount parking...

after you do this i will come over to the hotel and you all can buy me a beer...ha let me know if you have any other questions..

That's a good idea. I too have a reservation at the Hyatt Regency on East Wack-off.
