edited July 2013 in All Encompassing Trip
I compiled a list for hotels as of 7/17/13. I included anyone who posted here. There are a variety of places, so I didn't just limit it to the Hyatt anymore.

Feel free to PM me as your plans are made/changed and if you want to be added to a list. Also, feel free to let me know if you'd rather not be listed.

Also, if you would like me to add information about any scheduled gatherings at a hotel, let me know!

Just booked a room at the Hilton Garden Inn Chicago Downtown just in case. I will already be up there through Thursday for a conference anyway so hoping to stay a few days extra to see PJ (just need to win that lottery).

I am in the hotel busines in Chicago. Do not book at the Tokyo hotel. It is a shit box. Also stay away from the Ohio House. Hilton Garden is good, there are two Hamptons that are solid (one river North one in the loop bot by the train), also look at the Fairfield Marriott on Ontario. The WIT is a expensive but swanky hotel (right by the train). If your looking for cheap book out at O'Hare and take the blue line train to the red line to wrigley (about 45 minutes).

Hi shadowcast, I just asked this question on another thread....

What do you think of the Days Inn on the corner of Diversey/Clark/Broadway? Will be a bro-trip.

    Sorry for the double-post.

For Chicago 2009, a bunch of people got rooms at the Hyatt through the name your own price. I believe we got it super cheap for like 56 dollars a night. If someone gets a good deal on there maybe we can all jump on it.

I got my room booked at my cousin's house! Now come on ticket gods.
  • I booked Hotel Lincoln at 10 AM and the lady laughed and said you must be coming for Pearl Jam. She said they are filling up fast.

Stayed there a month ago. Very good location. Only 5 doubles left and 25 Kings/Queens. It is going to be one of the nicer (boutique) closest to Wrigley.

Days Inn is not bad but it's no Marriott or Hilton. Somebody mentioned the Palmer House. Oldest hotel in the city and it's nice but they have soooo many room types that you might get stuck in a closet. Check out the Hampton Majestic which is down the street from the Palmer House. Both are Hilton products.

Is Skokie a logical place to stay? Do the trains (els) run out there?

Once they do the lottery, perhaps a few people (I'd be game to do it) can buy rooms on Priceline and share the parameters with everyone so we can all get a good deal on our rooms.

the skokie swift (yellow L line) runs out there, but hte hours are limited. i would suggest staying in the city. stay in rosemont if you are looking to save on hotel costs.

I just booked a junior suite (2 dbls plus a pull out coach) at the Best Western Plus - Hawthorne Terrance for five of us. Pricey at 269/night but split among us should not be so bad. I liked that it is .7 miles from Wrigley so we can walk it.

Anyone have any thoughts or experience with this one?
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of
arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to
slide in sideways, BBQ sandwich in one hand, cold beer in the other,
body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "Woo Hoo what a
    ride"!
