Have not. I know there are some responsible gun dealers and some that are not. I believe it varies from state to state as well. That is another problem. There needs to be uniform Federal laws.

I don't have a gun. Why? Because I spend money on more important necessities (bills, food, school, etc.)
I am not afraid. I would love to own a gun. Is it at the top of my priority list? Hell no. Our founding fathers and ancestors fought for us to be free; to live in a country where we shouldn't have to arm ourselves if we choose not to. We have the right to own a gun if we choose to.
There are cops and other means to protect our families (watch dogs, strong door locks, security system, etc). Guns are just another option. Would it be great to have a gun? Sure. Is it necessary? Nope.
Don't get the impression I hate guns. I plan to buy one sometime soon. But it shouldn't be forced upon people, nor should it define people.

In my area the threat is real enough to own a gun. It is a matter of self reliance,
taking care of oneself. When you see neighbors who weren't able to protect themselves
suffer, you decide I better be prepared. Good luck relying on your police who arrive after the fact.

Do I need a gun? Not really. Would it be nice? Hell yeah. Its always nice to have any type of protection. I plan to buy a Mosin-Nagant sometime soon. (Only like $90 and comes with cleaning stuff and a few other things! My bro bought one a year and a half ago. He moved, so sadly I wasn't able to go shoot his. :( )

Have you bought from a gun show? I have. There was the same background check at the gun show then I got in the gun shop. It's the wheeling and dealing in the parking lot that doesn't have background checks, and that will not stop.
My friend bought a pistol from a gun show. No questions asked.
I know many do background checks, like the one you went to, but not all of them do.

Have not. I know there are some responsible gun dealers and some that are not. I believe it varies from state to state as well. That is another problem. There needs to be uniform Federal laws.
