I called the people in the video sheeple. Don't over simplify things for dramatic effects.

Coming from someone who has mostly been sitting back and observing, no, they didn't. The pro-gunners largely came off like paranoid delusionals in this thread, and very often massive hypocrites, which made any argument made otherwise suspect at best.

Ok hotshots, tell me how you'd disarm the public. That's assuming the liberals in Congress get their way.

There is no overnight fix here. This is a deep-rooted problem. It's not so much about disarming as it is damage control at this point.

Off the top of my head... I'd think it would be fair to 'grandfather' all the weapons that people already own provided they are registered- including handguns and assault rifles. Make people accountable for the guns they wish to have. There must be a level of responsibility that goes with owning a gun.

Stop future sales of assault rifles and restrict the sales of handguns. Make handguns accessible, but only after the most rigid background checks. With on-going maintenance and the tweaking of policies when necessary... in 20 years, the country should have a much different and safer climate.

Well I do have an argument. It was already expressed long ago.

    It's actually spelled a r g u m e n t.

And the argument in opposition to your opinion has been a royal thundering. You have had it handed to you so many times you don't even realize it  . But, then again... look at the spelling error my 8 year old wouldn't even make. It explains quite a bit. Are you 7 and on your mom's account?

Well, you've probably stated more than anyone else in this thread that nobody wants to take our guns. Whats your argument on the videos that unsung and I posted.

( Hope I spelled everything right....i'd hate to get "owned" on spelling grammar again).

Really? This is what this thread has come to?

I had prepared a cheeky response, but here I am again getting sucked into a discussion that is pointless considering the lack of mutual respect.

Did you note my response to Unsung regarding possible steps to take to 'disarm' the citizens? Pretty fair if one was to think objectively. Problem is that gun nuts jump to the extremes once facing any challenge that might seem an imposition to them. Any form of moderation or compromise is seen as a threat and a loss. Bullheaded, they threaten as much as a revolution when a middle way is needed and sought by the majority of their country they democratically participate in.

I just posted a video where a politician stated on camera that she wanted essentially a complete disarmament. How exactly am I jumping to extremes when it is straight from the horse's mouth? Don't tell me that they don't want to ban everything, she is flat out saying that it is the ultimate goal.

I've stated this ad nauseum. When I say "nobody wants to take your guns", obviously I'm not fucking speaking for the entire planet. I'm speaking about the other posters in this thread.

I checked out unsung's video of that ONE woman who states that her agenda is to take away all guns. That will never happen, and I don't personally think that's the answer. Your second amendment won't allow that to happen, and I don't think I even agree with that happening. The public needs to be allowed to protect themselves in their own home, but my main thing is the background checks and mandatory training be part of it. And ACCOUNTABILITY.

I never made any comments about your grammar or anyone else's.

HER goal. posting one person's opinion on any topic as proof of a larger agenda is a massive reach and you know it.

C'mon you can't believe that she is the only one. Don't be so naive. She gets her marching orders from someone. Geez do we really have to go through every bit of legislation? I actually read bills before they vote on them.

Oh wait, sorry, I'm being delusional/paranoid/showing my complete distrust of the general (federal) government. I'll take off my tin foil hat now.

Do you really think that even if half of our politicians wanted to ban every gun they could accomplish such a feat? The gun culture here in the the US is far too embedded to ban guns in its entirety in this country.....
    IT'LL NEVER HAPPEN!

Post a link as to which politician this was if you don't mind.

Thank you for the link....so if a gun ban in its entirety might not happen in this country why bring it up? You know very well with our gun culture that even if a majority of politicians wants this ban GUNS STILL won't ever be banned in its entirety.

Why not focus your opposition on what can possibly be accomplished like a national registration or national background checks. Just trying to be a bit more realistic here.

Because I don't believe in registering my rights. I am not a sex offender.

Even the Manchin (sp, I'm on my phone) Tooney Amendment would punish a federal official with a 15 year prison sentence for maintaining a database. IF there were no loopholes that might be something I'd support. Of course I'd have to read it first.

Even though it appears to be not be the same scenario, however you do have a right with to drive a car right. At the same time you do have register that car with the right to drive it right. Is there a problem or issue with that kind of registration?
