Like some of you, I don't know a lot about guns but I have to think that a 200-yard kill shot to the neck is pretty elite. Like my co-worker that hunts several types of live game could not do that and nor could a vast majority of actual police, military veterans, and gun enthusiasts. I could be totally wrong because I'm totally ignorant on guns but that seems like the four-minute-mile of shooting.1995 Milwaukee 1998 Alpine, Alpine 2003 Albany, Boston, Boston, Boston 2004 Boston, Boston 2006 Hartford, St. Paul (Petty), St. Paul (Petty) 2011 Alpine, Alpine

At least one Republican politician gets it.
Utah Gov. Spencer Cox got emotional Wednesday as he delivered a message mentioning recent attacks on both Democrats and Republicans.
"Our nation is broken," Cox said. "We've had political assassinations recently in Minnesota. We had an attempted assassination on the governor of Pennsylvania. And we had an attempted assassination on a presidential candidate and former president of the United States -- and now current president of the United States. Nothing I say can unite us as a country. Nothing I can say right now can fix what is broken. Nothing I can say can bring back Charlie Kirk. Our hearts are broken."

Even not knowing much about guns/hunting, that’s a pro.
I do a lot of plinking with a .22. I feel pretty confident hitting a bowling pin with my .22 30-40 yards out with just the iron sites. I've only shot a scoped sniper/hunting rifle a couple times and was able to hit small fruit and a matchbox car at that range, maybe al little farther (took a few shots to hit the car).
I wouldn't imagine anyone aiming for the neck, so the shooter was probably a foot off target. At 200 yards, being a foot off target, if he had a good scope and low wind, and good position, I would think an average hunter or average hobbyist with a little experience could make it. But it's not someone who went out and bought his first gun last week.0 -

I'm long enough in the tooth also to know that many things are said in a certain context, and when removed from the bigger picture and analysed as stand alone comments they take on a whole new life of their own.
That really wasn't the point of my post anyway but I guess you decided to focus on just that to disregard the rest. Whatever, but as I say the point being made wasn't about what Charlie did or didnt say - that wasnt relevant to what I was commenting on which is this guy died because someone didnt like what he said. Also. Not caring if he's gone is not the same as celebrating a murder.
I also, don't see why a de facto nazi-dad would give a better net outcome on young kids than not having a dad. So the best thing, would be a Charlie Kirk who's alive but without his piece of shit racist belief system, or a really good stepdad coming in who doesn't have a piece of shit racist belief system and the kids feeling that "dad is such a whacko. We researched the contexts of what he believed, and yikes".
I don't think nazi dads are a good thing for kids to be around. Maybe you do. To each his own.
For context."Mostly I think that people react sensitively because they know you’ve got a point"0
