What ever the fuck it takes to make those children safe.
If it needs to be police presense, then so be it.

    Is there a better answer?
I truly dont know at this point.
But those school children, FIRST and FOREMOST, need to be safe.

heres the thing tho speedy... my children are safe when they go to school. my biggest concern is that they dont jig or that i dont get a call from the vice principal informing me of some minor infraction one of my kids has done. i never have to worry about my kids being shot at or having to huddle in the corner of their classroom. why is that you think? is it cause there is an armed police presence at my childrens school?
Our children, here in America are not safe.
    That is a fact.

I am missing something here. Please explain why YOUR children are that much safer? If it is because there are no guns where you live, then YES they are safe. Problem is, here in America, there are 200 million guns out there. We cant change that fact. All the gun laws in the world, wont change the fact that there are 200 million guns here.
we need to ban ammunition!!! THAT is not garaunteed in the constituion.

I have read over the last few days numbers ranging from 80 million to 200 million. So again, we can change all the gun laws. We cant take away all of the guns already out there.

oh that is bullshit speedy. just pure bullshit. yes i know your children are not safe. and it makes me weep. but there is something you can do to change that. its not a greater physical gun presence... its tougher gun laws... not the banning of all guns... but tougher laws. im talking little steps here... little but significant steps. its a change in the mentality of your entire population that the way you all are living is not right... it cant be when massacres take place like this. these children were your future... and they are gone. so YOU tell ME what youre willing to do about it? what is it going to take before the united states of america practices what she preaches? what are you willing to give up to ensure that future generations live in peace in their own school... that your child doesnt one day come to you and say, daddy im scared to go to school.... cause the reason isnt a bully taking her lunch money but the very presence of those guns that you seem to think will keep your child safe. what are you going to tell your child when she comes to you and asks how america got this way? why so many guns daddy? why so much violence?

Unfortunately, slowly but surely, we in this country are moving more and more towards a police state.

Something that was appropriate and justified when the Constitution was enacted,
and not at all what our founding fathers could have ever forseen happening in the 'modern world.'

Or maybe it is inevitable given the vicious, animalistic behavior that seems to be thriving.

Do we arm everyone, everywhere? And to what end?

    What a world
    What a world
    Nice shirt.
  • one of the things in this problem is for sure the easy access to guns..
    things must change to this
when someone have any issues, any madness, what ever that is,NEEDS to know that the solution isnt violence and solve it with guns..
even one day you woke up and want to go out there and start shooting to people, making you to think that you cant find easily a gun, maybe will make rethink it and dont do it..

  • You can make it life in prison, for ANYONE to own a gun.
You can stop the import of guns.
You can close down all the gun makers here in the States.
You can make it IMPOSSIBLE for 99% of the population to legally purchase a gun.
Anyone caught with a gun gets LIFE in prison..PERIOD! No questions asked!
But you cant take away the 80-200 million guns that are already out there. Or can you?

back in the 90s in the aftermath of a massacre here in australia, the govt asked for the handing in of firearms. whilst not ALL the people handed in their weapons(and i personally know some that didnt) the vast majority did. did it stop all gun crime? nope. but we havent has a massacre since. progress?? you tell me. possible to implement in the US? honestly i dont know but isnt it worth a try? isnt the future of your country worth trying to change mindset so ingrained that people get apoplectic even at the thought of discussing alternatives to the so called right to bear arms?

    It's heartbreaking.

When the lunatics begin to run the asylum, we have no choice but to fear our own shadows.
I was always taught to stand up to bullies, to confront the adversaries in life head on.

But when the adversaries have assault rifles with thousands of rounds of ammunition, it's truly terrifying.

It is sad. But I think there are people in other parts of this country, and other parts of the world that don't really understand what Chicago is like. Everyone thinks of a city skyline and shopping, underneath it lies the scum of the earth. To blame a gun is not only irresponsible but it completely avoids the issue of why.

It is sad, but it is better than the alternative of this past week.

Nope. Are gangs as prevalent there? Are almost 40% of HS students in a gang?

Anyway I'm getting a little off topic. I believe the underlying issue is one of two things, a terrible upbringing with poor parentage, and/or medicating these kids into zombies so they don't understand how to deal with reality.

it is better to arm a teacher than to seek an everlasting alternative? i weep for a society that sees the answer to the question of the safety of their children is increased arms.

  • Hey dimitri?
Where are we getting the guns?

All told, European Union members shipped just under a million handguns to the United States in 2010. Their domestic markets may be limited by gun control, but Europe’s small-arms makers can still get rich, and create jobs, thanks to the Second Amendment. Who knew?

the law that says hand in your weapons or youre going to prison*. you put restrictions in place and if those restrictions are broken then you bring down the full force of the law. this really isnt rocket science speedy but you keep throwing up these obstacles cause you see the situation as hopeless. hows about little steps to a big end result.
