Almost every school near me has it built into their budget for at least one officer to be there during school hours.
maybe will make to school the same security as airports?
I have NO PROBLEM with that.
Police officer, or military, it doesnt make a difference to me.

Most of the schools near me that have a SRO are ones in which danger is expected primarily because of the location of the school or known dangers perpetrated by the students. These are usually high schools with known drug traffickers and gang members. Do we really want to live in a world where we have to implement extreme measures to protect our children? Perhaps a better discussion to have is one that begins to address the root causes of all these problems. We are not living in an environment that is the best for developing empathetic people. We are raising narcissistic children that lack any empathy for others. Are we getting something out of this all-encompassing trip?
Seems my preconceptions are what should have been burned...

i would have a MAJOR problem with my children being in an environment where there were firearms. i mean shit... i have a MAJOR FUCKIN' problem with me being in an environment where there are firearms. but for me at least this whole issue is moot cause my citizenry is not armed. it is a right we do not have and for that i am thankful. the mindset has to change where MORE firearms is the solution to a problem that is more cultural than it is about actually being armed and having that as a god given right.hear my name

But I wonder what your district is protecting students from? What was the reason for implementing this plan of action?
In my district its to prevent violence FROM the students and other teenage thugs(wanna be gangsters)._____________________________________SIGNATURE________________________________________________

If it needs to be police presense, then so be it.
Is there a better answer?
I truly dont know at this point.
But those school children, FIRST and FOREMOST, need to be safe.Take me piece by piece.....

heres the thing tho speedy... my children are safe when they go to school. my biggest concern is that they dont jig or that i dont get a call from the vice principal informing me of some minor infraction one of my kids has done. i never have to worry about my kids being shot at or having to huddle in the corner of their classroom. why is that you think? is it cause there is an armed police presence at my childrens school?hear my name

That is a fact.
I am missing something here. Please explain why YOUR children are that much safer? If it is because there are no guns where you live, then YES they are safe. Problem is, here in America, there are 200 million guns out there. We cant change that fact. All the gun laws in the world, wont change the fact that there are 200 million guns here.Take me piece by piece.....

oh that is bullshit speedy. just pure bullshit. yes i know your children are not safe. and it makes me weep. but there is something you can do to change that. its not a greater physical gun presence... its tougher gun laws... not the banning of all guns... but tougher laws. im talking little steps here... little but significant steps. its a change in the mentality of your entire population that the way you all are living is not right... it cant be when massacres take place like this. these children were your future... and they are gone. so YOU tell ME what youre willing to do about it? what is it going to take before the united states of america practices what she preaches? what are you willing to give up to ensure that future generations live in peace in their own school... that your child doesnt one day come to you and say, daddy im scared to go to school.... cause the reason isnt a bully taking her lunch money but the very presence of those guns that you seem to think will keep your child safe. what are you going to tell your child when she comes to you and asks how america got this way? why so many guns daddy? why so much violence?hear my name

Unfortunately, slowly but surely, we in this country are moving more and more towards a police state.
Something that was appropriate and justified when the Constitution was enacted,
and not at all what our founding fathers could have ever forseen happening in the 'modern world.'
Or maybe it is inevitable given the vicious, animalistic behavior that seems to be thriving.
Do we arm everyone, everywhere? And to what end?
What a world
What a worldNice shirt.0 -
one of the things in this problem is for sure the easy access to guns..
things must change to this
when someone have any issues, any madness, what ever that is,NEEDS to know that the solution isnt violence and solve it with guns..
even one day you woke up and want to go out there and start shooting to people, making you to think that you cant find easily a gun, maybe will make rethink it and dont do it.."...Dimitri...He talks to me...'.."The Ghost of Greece..".

You can make it life in prison, for ANYONE to own a gun.
You can stop the import of guns.
You can close down all the gun makers here in the States.
You can make it IMPOSSIBLE for 99% of the population to legally purchase a gun.
Anyone caught with a gun gets LIFE in prison..PERIOD! No questions asked!
But you cant take away the 80-200 million guns that are already out there. Or can you?Take me piece by piece.....
