56% of the state of North Carolina voted to add marriage discrimination to their constitution. Does that pass either threshold?
I mean, I understand that this is a horrible thing. Nobody is trying to make light of it. But do you really think that pulling foreign aid is going to help? (Foreign Aid that helps the war orphans, helps keep hospitals open to help the injured civilians and provides schools so things like this are LESS likely to happen?) Because I don't.
You are talking about a very small group of extremists who feel that the United States has exploited them, harmed them or stolen from them. I'm not going to side with them. But pulling the foreign aid away from those places will create MORE desperation and extremism. Not less. We don't give that aid as a reward for being good and behaving. We do it because it's in our best interest to do so.0 -

Bob Ward of the Huffington Post has wrote this article that says that an Al-Qaeda offspring could be responisble for the attack of the U.S. Embassy in Libya. One thing that has been cleared to me is that Al-Qaeda and its supporters only want one thing and that is the destruction of Western society. The only way to prevent this in my opinion is by having Muslims that do not agree with Al-Qaeda to stand up. I beleive that the majority of Muslims are peace loving individuals who most likely want to be left alone to pursue their own lives but Al-Qaeda and extermists have taken over and given a bad name to the Muslim relegion.

I'm not sure what you mean by "the schools are teaching the children to hate us." I'm also not sure what you mean about the money not going where it's supposed to go.
If you mean that schools in the middle east teach the children to hate us... that's a bit of a broad statement. You'd be surprised that a very large number of the people in the middle east don't hate us at all. It's the extremists who foster that hatred. Pulling money out isn't going to help that.
As far as money not going where it's supposed to go... you're right that there IS a lot of corruption in third-world countries. Not unlike here, sadly. But maybe instead of buying bombs we could save a bit and pay for oversight and aid.
(and btw.. we also teach our children to hate them. It's a vicious circle. I mean, I grew up and went to a school in the 80s where I was taught that what we were calling "AIDS" was God's revenge on me and that I deserved to die. So.. it's not just the Islamic people who are guilty of that.)0 -
