I think we can all agree the past was great and the present is awful. So many dissatisfied and disillusioned true fans. My hope is the big shows don't sell out. But it won't change a thing
We don't all agree, not in the context of Pearl Jam, and not in the context of the world. A lot of these "true" fans have shown that their fandom is an inch deep, not because they're balking at the ticket prices, which is a totally fair response, but because they've leaped to the conclusion because of those prices that Pearl Jam are greedy a-holes who don't care about their fans, despite thirty-plus years of demonstrating that they do. And a lot of these same "true" fans have next to no interest in any of band's creative output since 1998 which, again, is their prerogative as taste is subjective, but it doesn't suggest a deep reservoir of faith in the band.
Is there nothing you won’t defend this band for? Where there’s smoke there’s usually fire. Things have changed with the fan club tickets and we know you don’t think it is worse than before, but it seems like you’re in the minority.
I am lost, I'm no guide, but I'm by your side

Looking at seats on TM today, basically every single seat is like $800. Why? Even some terrible seats at the back are that price. Who is doing this? What's going on? Why are there no regularly priced seats available and why can those people sell "premium" seats for whatever price but people wanting to sell TC seats must sell at face value?
Sometime last night they restricted the sales visible to the general public to premium only, and have literally hidden any face values from view, because they are desperately trying to sell the premium tickets. Who makes such decisions, I do not know. What would that job title be?
While I wouldn't put it past them, are we sure the standard tickets didn't just sell out?

I've said plenty of times that the fan club's communication with its members leaves a lot to be desired. I have also been critical of Eddie's move away from fame avoidance to starfucking. I was also very vocal about the poor job by the band and the fan club with respect to the last two annual singles. The funny thing is, at that time, a lot of people chalked me up as one of those people who complains about everything. Now I've got people saying I think the band can do no wrong. Here's the actual deal: I'm an objective person who has been a fan of this band for over 30 years and seen them treat their fans very well throughout that period, and who has benefited from the band's generous treatment of its fans repeatedly. I'm not going to throw them under the bus because a portion of their tickets are priced at a premium when they still managed to get tens of thousands of tickets into the hands of fan club members at face value, something which most artists don't do. Again, everyone posting here is in Pearl Jam's fan club. It's amazing how many people in the band's fan club do not give the band the benefit of the doubt.
And, of course, I'm as critical as anyone else when it comes to the incontrovertible fact that everything that's wrong with the world is Stone's fault.
Now I'm in a lottery with a couple million other people maybe,
More like a half-million, maybe. Member numbers go up to about 800000, but many of those will have lapsed (and some will have died over 33 years). And not every member is in the lottery. A lot of them live in places that are nowhere near the few cities hosting shows and don't have the money or flexibility to travel to shows.
It’s basic maths, but I’ve never realised that the 10c community contributes around $20 million every year, whether pj tour or not. I’m sure these funds have allowed PJ to keep prices reasonable in the past but not anymore it seems.

I see. Minorities should not be heard. Interesting perspective. Anyway, I don't think I'm in the minority. If the majority of the Ten Club thinks Pearl Jam are greedy a-holes who don't care about their fans, we've really jumped the shark. My point was clear. You're welcome to disagree with it, but don't go declaring that we all agree. We don't all agree.
I didn't use any words like greedy a holes at all. Stop putting words that were not there. Foolish. I said it was great before and awful now. Full stop.

I am rather new on this forum, I consider myself a Pearl Jam fan for 5 years now. As a 30-years Bruce Springsteen fan I have experienced the exact same conversation about ticket prices, fan club allocation, Ticketbastard-Premium pricing last year, when Bruce announced the first post-pandemic tour dates. I was not amused. I was shocked. I was disappointed. But, let‘s face it - there is inflation, prices went up, not only thanks to the pandemic, but also because nobody spends a dollar anymore on buying a CD, a record… streaming music has become virtually free… as a consequence, artists (and in particular their management) need to charge a lot more for their live events. This is the new reality now. My first Bruce show in 1993 cost me $ 67.50 (GA). Now, the same category costs an outrageous $ 400.- (plus TM charges, which results in $480.-) face value!!? For MSG, the „TM-Premium“ prices went up to $5000.-. I am disappointed that artists, that have a history of caring about their loyal fan base, don’t seem to care about this dynamic pricing, a business strategy of the promoter which feels like a slap in the face to many longtime fans..

Black is neutral, goes with anything, looks good on everybody, is flattering if you've gained a few pounds, doesn't show the tour food you've spilled on it... Black is pretty perfect. Other colors are good too, (one of my very favorite PJ tees is red Portland 2006 with Mike on the back), but black is always a good choice.

10C, floor seats are not desirable behind maybe row 6. Can you please stop ranking them higher than seats off the floor?? I literally got the second to last row of the floor for a show, while someone else whose member number is over 200K higher than mine got a way better seat. I don't understand how you think the very back of the floor is better than a seat off the floor.
agreed. I trusted a buddy once with getting our Hip tickets. He said "score! we're on the floor". Row fucking 28. hands down, worst seats I've ever had for a show.

Umm...so is this shipping accurate? I was just in the shop and got the vinyl slip cover thing, the dark matter vinyl single and like 4 stickers. The total was $27. So I go to check out and the shipping is $21. Seriously? I had to back out. I need to think about that, jesus. Paying $50 for $27 worth of stuff.
I've ordered lots of stuff from the shop and don't ever remember being shocked by the shipping. It always seemed reasonable until now.
Everyone who commented that it's not worth $35 a year to be in a club with a minimal chance for tickets (and not much else), I couldn't agree more. To be a member for over 25 years, always waiting longer for tours to happen, and get shut out of all the shows I put in for ... just sucks. Had to rant, sorry.
Think how many millions a year 10c make from 40 dollar membership . Must be 500k paying members. And what's left. A forum that's broken. Come on man you are killing a fan base
