Well there are already roadblocks and your calls and emails are monitored. Anything else?
yeah, I think once a week people should have to go to jail and if they cannot prove they haven't done anything wrong that week they should be placed into custody until they can prove their innocence for the week...enough with innocent until proven guilty...fuck that...we should all have to prove our innocence at all times.
I realize you are very happy that there are road blocks...congratulations...DS1119 wrote:
Good one guys. Forgot about that. Some people really have a distortion in this country about their freedoms and what they'll "fight" for. I won't answer your question sir about my citizenship but here let me answer my cell phone...send some texts....send some emails...walk past all of these public cameras....do some banking at the ATM...use my credit card at the grocery store....walk past some more secutiry cameras...etc.
you don't really care about them...
Keep up the good fight. I may suggest however keeping away from the borders so you don't have your rights infringed on. For now I'll just answer the question and be on my merry way. Keep up the good fight.0 -

Personally I also think that red light cameras or speed cameras (used by some cities) should be eliminated. Sure, I'm aware that people CAN track me when I use my cards, etc. What does that have to do with stopping me and "making me" answer some questions?
Yes I get it. People want to bitch just for the sake of bitching. These roadblocks happen in high drug and illegal immigrant corridors. They are there for a reason. Not to take away people's rights. You don't want to go through them, then avoid them. Holy fuck. SOme Americans are just so pricky with little shit like this it's frustrating. Sometimes a concession needs to be made by a few for the benefit of the country. I don't think answering a fucking question is so hard.

ok,
where do you draw the line in terms of police contact with your life without probable cause?
For one, I stay away from the borders.0 -

Again, if it's just answering a question than what service does it provide at all??????
I've looked a bit but only found the 2 extremes on this issue as to cost and benefits. Anyone have a decent link to show the cost/benefit of these types of activities?hippiemom = goodness0 -

It's called a deterrent. Keep the illegals of the major highways coming north...flush them into the desert where we have the proper technolgy coupled with the brutal conditions to flush them out. Try watching Border Wars on NatGeo sometime. You'd be blown away.0 -
Drowned Out wrote:where do you draw the line in terms of police contact with your life without probable cause?
This one always cracks me up. Probable cause??I guess showing proof of your citizenship in high crime corridors by illegals isn't probable cause.
"Sir, you are driving in an area where alot of illegal drugs, guns, and immigrants travel...what is your citizenship"?
"US"
"thank you and have a good day".
That's so hard and such an infringemnt. :fp:  Guess they should wait until that van transporting 7 illegals, 30 guns, and a pound of coke to have a turn siganl burn out before they have probable cause.0 -

As for whether it is cost beneficial ... well, it's a government agency, so I'm going to have to say hell no. Especially since it isn't random.Be Excellent To Each OtherParty On, Dudes!0 -

(sorry for quoting this rag, but I'm in a hurry)
So illegal immigration is slowing....but if you put enough resources into this, you might get lucky and see the number of deaths in the desert rise.0 -

Fuck it, lets set up firing squads at those checkpoints. :corn:0 -

I'm all for the firing squads. Set land mines along the border as well. That would certainly put a huge dent into the problem.
Hint to to illegal immigrants, drug and gun traffickers trying sneak into this country. You may die trying to cross the desert illegally. Stay in your own fucking country or try coming here legally. Pretty cut and dried in my opinion.0 -

I don't believe you, it's easy to talk tough on the internet, but if you were one of those border patrol agents, you couldn't enforce anything like what your proposing. Sorry ain't buy it.0 -
I hope you're not one of the people surprised by nazi Germany references, if you support 'papers, please' checkstops, stop and frisk, firing squads, and mined borders.....but ya....I'm leaning more towards hot air, or epic troll job.0

Doesn't take a lot of balls to set land mines or sit on top of a wall with a rifle.
Shit, prison guards do the rifle thing everyday and they are trained to shoot first and ask questions later.I'm sure we would have no problem shifting all of the prison guards that will be out of jobs guarding illegal aliens and traffickers in our prisons to stand post on the walls defending the country. You touch the wall...you get shot. Pretty good deterrent in my opinion.

Now this is funny. I make no bones about my opinions. If you don' belong here...get the fuck out. The borders are too soft at this point and these checkpoints make 100% sense. If you don't like them...write a congressman...protest...or stay away from them. But for now they are proving to at least work for now in slowing down the problem. I would love to hear your solution for strengthening the borders. What's your solution. :corn:0 -

And yet it makes sense. You don't come near the wall no one is shot or blown up. No one dies crossing the desert. I say this is actually much more humane on our part. I'll call it preserving the illegals lives.0 -
Wow, just wow. Murdering people with no education that are looking for a better life. Just wow.0

There are channels for them to pursue citizenship here legally. I'm not against immigration. I truly believe this is a great country. Immigration only brings diversity which is great for everyone here. More ideas, different cultures, etc. But it needs to be done legally and controlled however. Both sets of my grandparents did it. And actually, both my grandfathers moved here to work for years before they each could afford to bring my grandmothers over. One from Italy, and one from Poland. But to believe this is just an issue of people with no education looking for a better life is a little "ostrich with their head in the sand" of an outlook.0 -

And that is perfectly reasonable. But your solution is the opposite0
