EDDIE VEDDER POSTPONES US SOLO TOUR DATES (OLD)

I feel bad for those with travel plans that are screwed, but you have to give it to him, at least he didn’t postpone indefinitely. They made the effort to reschedule all the dates prior to cancelling the original dates. There’s something to be said for that.
Nerve damage is no joke. I've had it and it sucks.Don't come closer or I'll have to go0 -

It must be nice to be able to sit there behind a computer and judge a person and a situation without knowing any specifics whatsoever about it. That takes skill!
I, however, seem to be lacking that skill. I know nothing about nothing, except that -- given the history of this guy and this band -- I'm confident Ed did everything humanly possible to make these shows work. They just didn't. Shit happens.
That's something this (my?) generation needs to learn: Sometimes shit happens. Sometimes shit happens to good people. Sometimes shit happens that is nobody's fault.
It's like I tell my 3-year-old daughter, whenever she wants a new toy we don't want to buy her or she wants to go to Chuck E Cheese when we've made other plans: You have to learn to be disappointed.
Life is full of disappointments, many of them much bigger than a postponed rock concert. Maybe if some of our parents had spent more time telling us "no" as children, we would be better equipped to handle the disappointment of a postponed Ed show. I don't know.
I feel for people who are out travel money (although what kind of hotel reservation is non-refundable anyway? Plus, usually airlines will allow you to apply at least a portion of the airfare to a future ticket if you have to cancel, right?).
But ... shit happens. Life is disappointing. Grown-ups suck it up and move on.everybody wants the most they can possibly get
for the least they could possibly do0 -

Hi Ed, I was in a similar situation as you. I had a deteriating disk that was pintching a bit on my Ulnar nerve, and it used to affect my strength in my right hand, and sometimes i would get alittle numb/tingly in my forth and fith digit finger.
I tried going to a regular specialist and pain doctor. All they did was shoot me up into the affected vertabrae , and it would immediatly take away all the inflamation causing all the issues. I found it was a temporary fix.
I ended getting some advice for a chinese woman in my office. She gave me the name of one of the best accupuctist in Tampa, FL. She was the real deal, and was one of the best natural medicine doctors in Beiing, China.
Long story short... between her accupucture treatments and diet changes ( which are very important, cause bad food feeds inflamation) she has gotten me whole again. I can lift weights, play guitar, and anything else.
Do i have days when it bothers me alittle? once in awhile. But it sure beats having a spinal fusion, that never works out too well in the long run.
Anyway...I hope you find what works best for you... just dont get down over it...its treatable.
feel better Ed, and see in December/ Tampa, FL0 -
what needs to be recognized is you can see a lot of work and time has been put in to reschedule etc. kudos and much appreciation to all of those who made this happen. the easy way out was not taken since we still have a tour!!0

I just read that Ed has nerve damage in his right arm, and among other things (being a dad looking after kids, surfing, throwing axes at things) he plays guitar - I just want him to heal and be the best Ed he can be for his family first and then for his fanswe're all sentient snowflakes0

you have every right to be livid.........should not have scheduled a tour...the timeline suggests that
Like myself you know nothing about the injury or when it occurred. Quit criticising the band & Ed at any given opportunity. If they piss you off so much, stop being a fan and support another band.2000: Manchester

Didn't read the whole thread but just wondering.......they couldnt just get somebody else to play Uke / Guitar? Guitar Tech? McCready? Stone? Somebody?
Might not be the show as originally planned, but at least it would go on.
They possibly could have thought of this as a backup plan earlier?0 -
I'm very sad this has happened, but there's not much anyone can do. I have absolutely no doubt that if the shows could go on, they would. Here's to a speedy recovery. Some of the reactions on here are almost embarrassing. See you in November EV.0

Sending good thoughts and wishes to Eddie for a full recovery
.... and to all the PJ fans who had tickets that it all works out in the end.

As much as I yearn for any kind of tour to my area, I would rather wait it out & Ed make sure he is completely healthy & ready to give it his all, just like he always does. Here's to hoping he's fully recovered & takes Europe by storm!!
very nicely put.
anyways, get well soon, mr. vedder.
(i can recommend some seriously good healers. for that matter.)All is well in all of creation, therefore, let’s have a celebration!

Not sure if this has been pointed out yet or not, but recovery time is not the same for everyone. It is very possible that Eddie's injury didn't respond well to the first round of rehab and his recovery time was extended, thus necessitating the postponement of the tour.___________________________________________
