what needs to be recognized is you can see a lot of work and time has been put in to reschedule etc. kudos and much appreciation to all of those who made this happen. the easy way out was not taken since we still have a tour!!

Didn't read the whole thread but just wondering.......they couldnt just get somebody else to play Uke / Guitar? Guitar Tech? McCready? Stone? Somebody?

Might not be the show as originally planned, but at least it would go on.

They possibly could have thought of this as a backup plan earlier?

I'm very sad this has happened, but there's not much anyone can do. I have absolutely no doubt that if the shows could go on, they would. Here's to a speedy recovery. Some of the reactions on here are almost embarrassing. See you in November EV.

Sending good thoughts and wishes to Eddie for a full recovery
.... and to all the PJ fans who had tickets that it all works out in the end.

    Cheers.

How awful for Ed to have to cancel. He must feel terrible on top of the worry for his own well-being.
As much as I yearn for any kind of tour to my area, I would rather wait it out & Ed make sure he is completely healthy & ready to give it his all, just like he always does. Here's to hoping he's fully recovered & takes Europe by storm!!

    very nicely put.

anyways, get well soon, mr. vedder.

(i can recommend some seriously good healers. for that matter.)
All is well in all of creation, therefore, let’s have a celebration!

Not sure if this has been pointed out yet or not, but recovery time is not the same for everyone. It is very possible that Eddie's injury didn't respond well to the first round of rehab and his recovery time was extended, thus necessitating the postponement of the tour.

as always i agree with American Dimitris...
when a doctor lets say to 2 different person time of recovery is one month,is never the same exact time for both..

I totally get being disappointed and upset about losing out on non-refundable $, but no one can plan around injuries. It sucks, but if he didn't care he wouldn't have bothered to reschedule.

Shit happens! I do feel bad for those who had travel plans. That would really suck. I don't like disappointment. Sk too bad for all of you. But I care a lot more about Eddie's well-being; I'm sure he is WAY more disappointed than any fan right now btw! He must be quite disabled if he can't even play or perform. Imagine all the other things he can't do. And he knows how much this affects some fans, and I'm sure regrets that very much. I know the financial hit is a real blow for some, but poor Ed is going through worse, so try to keep it in perspective I guess. And to anyone suggesting they should have known earlier or whatever... they obviously did the very best they could with a bad situation. These kinds of injuries can offer up real surprises at time goes by - I've had nerve damage in my arm from a neck injury, and this kind of thing is terribly unpredictable and really can seem to be getting better and then suddenly get much worse way down the road.

PS - I actually don't feel bad about anyone who didn't get refundable tickets for flights. That is just stupid. Any concert can get cancelled. All it takes is the performer being sick or hurt. Basing a whole trip on a concert and not ensuring the flight is refundable and that there is a decent cancellation policy on the hotel is really really stupid!![/quote]

WOW, PJ Soul, that was a little harsh.....Just saying that I was very disappointed...flying discount air and giving 5 days notice does not allow much for a refund....but...that"s why we picked Vegas, because there is always lots to do. People are allowed to vent on this site and I never said anything bad about Ed. Some people do not have as much of a disposable income as others so I am upset that I felt like I was the luckiest person for getting 10 club tix for my first time and now I know i can't make it work at all.

I agree with Autolycis, some of us have spent thousands and taken time off of work for this, so we do have a right to vent, we are not blaming Eddie for being injured and I for one would NOT want to see him try to come up with a plan to sing while someone else plays, I'd rather tusk up this disappointment and cross my fingers that I can shell out the money a second time in 6 months. However, as someone else pointed out, they have put a lot of effort into getting the dates rescheduled - and this says to me that we could have been given more than 5 days notice and that 5 days would have made a big difference to those who booked late (which is not my case as I booked everything way early including tix to other events, so I'm going to try to enjoy the week off and make the best of it.
But it would be absofuckinlutely awesome if, as someone else suggested, TenClubbers got a copy of the poster for the show(s) they were supposed to attend, since the posters are already printed and all. It would be a shame to waste all those trees.

There is always the chance that this is a total sham and that Eddie didn't actually get HURT at fantasy camp but rather signed a Minor League deal with the Cubs. I haven't heard any denials of that, and heck -- have you SEEN that pitching staff? Eddie throwing LEFT-handed would be an improvement. Someone get Tim Kurkjian on the line so we can get to the bottom of this.

Plus, the rescheduled dates begin in October. Coincidence? We all know the Cubs won't be playing in October...

It's simple to me. Do you prefer Eddie in top shape or no Eddie at all? The tour was postponed, not cancelled. It means there's hope for a great outcome. And that's what really matters. Besides, health issues always comes first.
I know people will get upset, lose some money, but we can't afford losing Eddie's wonderful skills.
He needs a break to get healed, that's all. I'm sure he's beyond frustrated with this situation and was fighting untill the last minute to get better and deliver us what we expect from him, not less. Let's give him our support and best wishes for a speedy recovery. In times like these, our understanding and support will make a big difference to him.

We're faithfull, Eddie. Be safe, be well and take you time. I'll pray for a full recovery.

    Peace! :)

Great ! Now in the Cubs clubhouse players will drink Corona, eat fried chicken, and smoke white widow .Invite Doc Ellis with some purple haze and maybe the Cubs would win for a change.

I don't think that many people would want to see a show like that, with a gimpy Ed and some other person doing half the work, with no practice between the two of them. Plus, you may be underestimating Eddie's effectiveness as a musician!! Not just anyone can play the uke or anything else to make Eddie's solo stuff what it is. Eddie can't do his solo show. You can't just find someone else to do half a solo show... that's not what people bought tix for.
