Even sweeter if you get to the Sound Garden for their daytime set with the autograph session... I'm not making that, but I will be at the Rams Head show.

I saw that, so sweet. The wife and I, at the advice of The Sound Garden, are planning on showing up at the store around 6 (they'll be opening at 9). Never camped out for anything, hope it's not as lame as I always imagined it would be, but damn I bet that experience will be sweet.
Rock on, man!

Nice! Report back if you wouldn't mind... Looking forward to the show! I'm sure the crowd will keep it lively and fun.
Bumping some Clutch love. Going to see them for the 51st time this Saturday in Grand Rapids. Cannot get the new album to stop spinning....this week it's been D.C. Sound Attack and Book, Saddle and Go.
The Edmonton show wasn't as good as the Calgary show, I'm sad to say....mostly cause I'm from Edmonton and have to hate Calgary
It still rocked... but the Calgary venue was way better, and there wasnt as much crowd energy to feed from by comparison....a sunday show can't compete with a friday. Plus, the Calgary/Saskatoon/Edmonton leg, in 3 days, would be pretty gruelling by bus. I'm sure the band was beat....
Sets were pretty similar, aside from the new stuff...they repeated Earth Rocker, Crucial Velocity, and DC Sound Attack, but I got the other songs I really wanted....between the two shows, the only Earth Rocker song I didn't hear was Mr.Freedom....which, if I'd picked one to miss, probably would have been the one.
I was standing kind of behind/side stage - had a good view of the crowd, and I have to say....watching the crowd sing the "bloooohahahahah" part of Earth Rocker was hilarious
Was hoping for a ton of songs I never got, so the repeats were a little disappointing....but with a catalogue as immense as theirs, I could probably listen to these guys play for four hours and still want more....
I got Tim's setlist
Not to derail the thread and I'm sure most of you are aware of these guys, but if you get a chance to see Fu Manchu on their current tour, DO IT! Clutch fans will be fully on board with it. They are doing "The Action Is Go" in it's entirity and good god does it jam!!! Great sold out show in CBus Friday night.

saw them in syracuse last night. AWESOME SHOW! the new songs sound great and fit in perfectly with the rest of the set. got to see dragonfly too which was great.
Beavis: All my friends are brown and red? What does that mean?
Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
Butthead: Huh huh.

So I saw them Saturday in Grand Rapids. Sold-out venue. And damn did they bring the rock. A pretty diverse set, with songs from 7 different albums spanning 20 years.
New stuff sounded great, got to hear Earth Rocker, Crucial Velocity, Book Saddle and Go, Cyborg Bette and Wolfman. Other highlight for me was Open Up the Border; love that jam and hadn't heard it in a long time.
Do not miss this band live; seriously the hardest-working band in rock 'n' roll today.
Is Clutch enforcing the No Camera policy this tour? They were very strict during last year's tour and I don't want to have to get out of line to take my phone back to my car.
Sound Garden performance was nice! Decent crowd, got there a bit later than we planned, but good time nonetheless. Played acoustic Motherless Child, and then Gone Cold. Went through the signature line, didn't know what to say. The wife said we were excited about the show tonight, Neil said "cool" or something, and I just thanked them all. Gonna be a good time!

saw the show in Toronto Thursday night at the Sound Academy
very entertaining as always, was probably my 12th time seeing them. Very happy with the new material, except for Oh, Isabella, which was disappointing since I really like that tune. It just sounded a little bit off the lead guitar part and the symbols was too much high pitch I think
Speaking of which, how awesome is JP on drums, it's so much fun watching him, he really used his cymbals so well.
Its kinda surreal seeing them in a place with 3000-4000 other people. I remember the days of 200-500 people at a show, glad they actually have a solid fan base now, no one deserves it more than these guys

I went and saw Clutch at Rams Head Live in Baltimore on Saturday. First off, I'd much rather drive to Baltimore for a show than Philly any day. Even with O's in town I didn't hit traffic getting into town, there was a big plus right there.
We were able to get into the venue at doors so we got a great spot in the 2nd level, the floor is a game for the young, and I'm not into getting pushed around anymore. The openers were very interesting to say the least. Scorpion Child reminded me of a 80's metal band and the lead singer needed a bigger stage. He was trying to pull off his choreographed jumps and mic tosses, but was just tight on space. They were okay, the most entertaining part was the cheesy moves by the lead singer, music was okay. The best opener was Lionize, these guys were tight. We even got Tim Sult to come out and play on a bunch of songs with the band. The most interesting part of this band was the bassist and drummer, the drummer laid the rhythm of the songs while the bassist essentially played like he was on lead guitar. Really set up some interesting arrangements. I would probably check these guys out if they tour on their own. The 3rd opener was Orange Goblin, these guys were fun, and you could tell they were having fun on stage too. The lead singer reminded me of WWE wrestler, the guy had to be close to 7' tall. The best was watching him getting the crowd riled up and playing air guitar when there was a solo, cracked me up. They played a good set, even got the rest of the openers out for a song. Not sure if I would see them if they headlined a show but they were great opening for Clutch.
Once Clutch hit the stage the crowd was ready. The pits had already started during Orange Goblin so they were riled up and ready to go. They started us off with 3 songs off the new album, and for me that was a good thing as I really dig the new album Earth Rocker. After that they really got the crowd rolling with The Mob Goes Wild. A few songs later some idiot thought it would be fun to toss a cup of ice on the stage from the balcony, needless to say Neil did not take kindly to this gesture. The idiot then throws another cup of ice to the stage before security escorted him out. The timing couldn't have been better as the band broke into The Wolfman Kindly Requests... Neil directed some of the lyrics to the area of the tosser...
There´s a buzzkiller in the room
In the room - can you dig it?
Party´s over you all gotta go
The wolfman is coming out
Party´s over you all gotta go
The sooner the better
The wolfman is coming out
The set list was killer, there were some new songs I was hoping to hear, but hopefully I will get them at the Philly show. I was suprised that the pits didn't get too rowdy, only one time did security need to jump in the middle and escort someone out. I thought it was cool that the group next to me brought their kids, Father said his kids really dig the band and wanted to see them, they were in an age range of 12-15 I would say. You could see the Dad was really proud that his kids enjoyed some of the music he did, and yes they did have earplugs in. Overall great show, left wanting more, and couldn't ask for a better group of people in our area, all were cool and respectful of each other. After the show I was able to get a New Belgium Clutch Sour Ale at the Leinenkugels Bar in the Power Plant... great way to end the night.

Agreed, show was awesome and would be difficult for any band to match. What did the dude from Orange Goblin say at the beginning: "We're Orange Goblin, we're from London, England, and we want to play some heavy metal for you"?
Would love to check out the next leg to see Lionize again, and I've heard of the Sword but haven't checked them out yet.

The Sword is good, one of the reasons I'm going to the Philly show. They have a Black Sabbath w/Ozzy sound to them. Plus a Philly band called Kingsnake is the local opener and worth checking out too. I saw them when they opened the Lancaster show last year and they killed it... Very heavy Clutch influence in their sound, but with a Lemmy style vocals.
Glad to hear you got to see the RSD short set. Figured they would play Gone Cold or Regulator... Motherless Child would have been cool to see.
