Ahh...SH is made to be uptempo. Weird if they slowed it down.

BTW...is your name in reference to Breaking Bad? If so, cool. 8-)

They only slowed it down by about a half step and I dont think it was really intentional, but it was noticable.

And yes...it is. Hence my Walter White Meth Lab avatar ;)

    Bummer

Clutch fans... the show tonight in joilet has been cancelled due to medical issues with Neil's voice. Hellyeah, Monstro and Kyng will still perform. If you do not want to attend the show as is... please return to place of ticket purchase for a refund. If you do attend the show, you waive your right to any refund. Clutch will not be rescheduling this show.

The May 12th show in Detroit, and the May 13th show in Flint... this weekend, will be rescheduled and all tickets purchased will be honored for new date. We will have details on rescheduled Detroit and Flint date later this week. Stay tuned to pro-rock and our facebook page for the upcoming reschedule announcement.

To get off topic for a second.....You know you're on Facebook to much when you look for a "like" button on each post. Anyways, I've seen Clutch 5 times (should be 6 if Neil didn't kill his vocals). The first time was a Bakerton Group only show (it was the record release show for El Rojo). I've meet Neil and JP twice. Both are stand up guys. Awesome to talk to, especially if you talk to them about music in general (not just theirs).

Yes, The Company Band kicks major ass. It's got Neil on vocals. Overall it doesn't have the same feel and flair as Clutch but still awesome. It's kinda like listening to Eddie Vedder solo or sing in non Pearl Jam songs. Not the same, different feel but equally as cool.

15 times, met everyone (although Dan said nothing so that doesn't really count). Hope this deal with Neil's voice isn't serious. The new stuff is sounding outstanding. From the sound of it, they are finally getting back to good ol' hard rock as opposed to this blues/rock fusion thing (although "Pigtown Blues" doensn't illustrate that at all).

I'm willing to bet that there's still a lot of the blues thing in there. I don't mind it honesty but some good old fashioned hard rock (ala Clutch or Pure Rock Fury) would be nice.

The bluesy sound seems to be a growing trend with a lot of the stoner rock bands. I don't know if it's Clutch leading the pack or they're just all drinking the same water. I like the current wave of those bands.

How is that stuff? I wasn't aware of it until recently - saw the videos at the brewery on youtube.

Glad to hear Clutch is rockin again (I've been avoiding the youtube clips of new songs....unless someone can direct me to some with hq sound ;) )....Strange Cousins was a bit sub-par by their usual standard of excellence...tho Beale st is one of my fav albums of theirs.

Ya, headline tour! Bumrush the borderguard and book some Canadian dates!

The ale is different but good.

Someone posted this earlier. Not sure of your definition of "hq", but I think its pretty good. The song fucking jams!

hmmm....I like the song...and the quality would be good enough if I'd heard the studio version already....but I really prefer to get to know a song as a studio version before delving into the live stuff. I can't really make out Neil's lyrics, and with the instruments getting a bit muddied, it's tough to get a really good feel for the song. You guys heard any speculation about an approx release date?

We all know that PJ is nearly a spiritual experience live.....but I don't know if there is a more FUN band to see than Clutch. Always a small-ish venue....for a not-so-famous band, their fans are super hardcore - they know the words to the most obscure stuff....long, varied sets....there is always a decent pit - enough to get you rocking and involved, but not viscious and dangerous (too old for that shit these days)....and Clutch has written some of the best drinking singalong tunes ever. Most shows I go to, I try to really limit the drinking and focus on the music....but at Clutch shows, I'm in full-on party mode.

They aren't even done recording it. Neil spoke about it in Dayton. He said "we are working on a new album" (loud applause), and then said something about "hold on...we are SLOWLY working on a new album."

Thing is they used to come over here twice a year until Dec 2009. Since then we've only had a couple of shows which were either co-headlines or supports. I miss 'em!

Same here....I don't think they've toured that extensively as headliners since then, tho....lots of opening tours and festivals, from what I've noticed. Def ready for a full headline tour. We got headline shows in 01, 04, 05, and 09 (with a second 01 show in support of COC...and I may be missing one between 05 and 09)...but since 09, we've only had the two opening shows. Clutch is just warming up after 45 minutes, it's not right! Doing multiple shows next headline tour, fer sure.
  • strummersstrummers Posts: 2,611
Just checked and they were over here for headline shows in '09 twice, '08 once, '07 twice, '06 once, '05 twice...

I just hope they don't decide to come back in Oct - Dec this year as we've had our leave restricted due to a large project.
