I know all the fucking stats, Mr. Poncier. I still don’t feel like I’m seeing “greatness.” efficiency, yes. consistency, yes. QB IQ, yes. greatness, no.

you and halifax should set up a circle jerk over old SB DVDs.
I guess I touched a nerve when I pointed out how pedestrian the Ache Man really was.
For those who like to say Belichick is responsible for Brady, well then certainly Jimmy Johnson is responsible for BoyTroy. And Troy had the NFL's all time rushing leader to lean on. Talk about your system QB. Ryan Leaf could have won Super Bowls with that team.
Hard to take someone seriously who actually believes that.

By the way, it was The Great Wall Of Dallas that made the offence function the way it did.

So you agree Aikman wasn't that vital to the team's success.

That's a bit of exaggeration to prove a point, Clearly Leaf would have lost to Young annually in the NFC title game.

You can not compare QB's from the early '90s to today's wussified QB's ...
Should we only compare Troy to his peers for Wobbie then?
Behind guys like Chris Chandler, Rich Gannon, and Mark Brunell (won't even get into how far behind the likes of Kelly, Elway, Young and others he is). =)

Look at his stats from age 35 on. How old were Troy acheman and Tony Blowmo when they retired? How do they compare from age 35 on?
    This is just fucking sad.

For thread integrity, whats just fucking sad is the Kapernick situation and the whole kneeling before the anthem controversy, never mind the concussion protocol and the way the NFL treats the players.

I'm talking about your creative juices coming up with "Troy Acheman" and "Tony Blowmo." Yikes.

Getting back to football, as for Kaepernick, I don't think he's "blackballed" due to his kneeling thing. He's not in the league for the same reason Tim Tebow isn't in the league: the circus that comes with him just isn't worth the trouble. If Kaepernick was as good a player as Aaron Rodgers or Tom Brady, forget kneeling, he could piss on the flag and his team's owner wouldn't give a shit about it. But he's not that good. It's a shame too because if there are about 90 QBs in the league, Tebow and Kaepernick are better than more than half of them.
