I want to see Shannon Sharpe back on the NFL Today.

Why? I can only assume for comedy, but it's not nice to laugh at those with speech impediments.
    I love Shannon!

But Jay Pharoah(sp?) on SNL does a hilarious impersonation of him.

I am intrigued about Tyrod Taylor.

    why?
Mind you "intrigued" is different than "excited"

He had a chance to quietly learn under the Ravens/Flacco. He is perhaps hand-chosen by Roman who I believe is a good OC and maybe he sees some things in Taylor that can fit into his offense. I will be interested to see how is used and how he does in training camp... and if he rises up past #3 over EJ Manuel.

Roman is actually a good fit here -- he likes to run and blows dick at calling passing plays. This will work with a questionable QB.

ESPN is reporting that the NFL and the Patriots are in back channel negotiations to quietly resolve the issue and not have a public airing via grievance and appeal. What does that tell you? Maybe there's no there there?

    http://espn.go.com/boston/nfl/story/_/id/12913741/robert-kraft-says-new-england-patriots-appeal-deflategate-punishment

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft said the reigning Super Bowl champions will accept their punishment from the NFL in the Deflategate investigation.

The Patriots were fined $1 million and docked two draft picks, a first-rounder in 2016 and a fourth-rounder in 2017.

Kraft, speaking Tuesday at the owners meetings in San Francisco, said the Patriots will not appeal the penalties, stating that they will "accept reluctantly what [commissioner Roger Goodell] has given us."

20 yards. They kicked from the 3 before.

    A. Hernandez is hilarious. Appeals his conviction as he is innocent but gets a new tattoo declaring he is in jail for life. Kill the appeal now just based on that.

Moved the extra point to the 15. Making it a 33 yard extra points. And defenses can return a block for 2 points.

Holding penalties can be assessed on the KO, but isn't that up to the opposing coach?

Texans have been selected for Hard Knocks ... This has the potential to be even more boring then the Atlanta series. JJ Watt can only jump on so many tables before they have to find more interesting things to air.

It's almost certain that HBO is flying their camera men down to Houston right now so they can tape the flood destruction ... that should eat up an episode.

Another episode of JJ jumping on tables and him walking around town and seeing how cool he is. Then what? Footage of Ryan Mallett and Brian Hoyer sailing balls over their intended target?

At best we can hope that Clowney has a mental breakdown and punches one of the assistant coaches.

I think that it doesnt pop off the page with the announcement as being exciting...agree with you there.
At best I can imagine lots of great things./
JJ Watt, as mentioned, is good for some interesting moments every week.
Arian Foster is a hell of an interesting guy actually....and he is likely to be featured during at least one episode and can be interesting.
Clowney is a Clown and I like your idea of him attacking asst coaches
Brian Cushing is a whacko, who knows what could come of that
Vince Wilfork, the guy who saves people
draft pick Jaelen Strong could be a steal and is an interesting cat

Bill O'Brien is another interesting guy...

I can look forward to this more than many other teams. (Can we get one about Michigan? lol)

I think the rule is that it can either be assessed on the extra point or assessed on the kickoff. But unless it was a two-point conversion situation, a coach would always choose the kickoff. But now that an extra point is essentially a 32-yard field goal, they'd probably make them kick the point after from 42-yards out.

But frankly, there's not too many penalties called on extra point attempts. Where this will make an impact is on post-touchdown personal fouls (excessive celebration mainly) on the offense. That would lead to a 47-yard extra point attempt!

I thought those penalties were always enforced on the kickoffs. It was my understanding that the penalties that happened during point after attempts like holding, delay of game, false start...etc, are the ones that effect PAT attempts. Basically any penalty during the PAT. And any other penalties that you described are enforced on the KO. Of course, I could be wrong and probably am.

In related news, newly appointed Coach Caveman had this to say about the state of the team
    "Duuuh. Duuuh. Daaahhhh. Duuuh. Yabadabadoo!"

I hope they let Kap run around and be exciting so there will be something for the fans to watch. The retirement party just totally fucking gassed this team.

Really, Colts? An AFC Finalist banner?? That seems kinda desperate. And it shouldn't be for an organization like them that has had a lot of success the past 15 years. Division champion, Conference Champion, and Super Bowl banners should be it.
