I look forward to watching the Patriots win Super Bowl 50, with or without Tom Brady.
Lol. I got $100 that says if Brady is suspended for any length of time, the patriots won't win the super bowl.
Pats winning the Super Bowl again would require making it to a FIFTH consecutive AFC Championship game. I think that would be unprecedented. So history is not on their side.
The 49ers made it 6 times in 7 seasons so it could happen. Of course they had the actual greatest QB in Montana back then. And unless Missed something no one has been in 5 straight. Dallas (twice) Philly and NE are the only other ones with 4 straight.

Didn't McNabb take Philly to 4 straight NFC championship games?

Man. I couldn't even imagine my team losing 4 super bowls in a row. I still haven't recovered from the Bears losing to the Colts in 06.

You can't imagine and I can't describe it. The first one was the worst.

Yep. There are no words for something like that. I really hope Buffalo gets one soon.

Yea, to be 3 foot right of winning one was the worst. Made the Washington loss hurt that much more. And the blowouts from Dallas that just made me bitter and hate the Cowboys for the rest of my life. If we could have just won one. That team of the 90's would have been considered one of the best of all time. Buffalo would have been the team of the 90's instead of dallas. So frustrating.
According to Letterman, Brady is in big, big trouble. He's going to have to share a cell with Aaron Hernandez. (Big boos from the audience). Or, he's going to have to play for the Jets. Bahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

We might have to talk.
I'll take the field if Brady is suspended. Let me know.
If Brady is suspended, watch for a ground attack that averages 113 ypg for the games Brady doesn't play. And if not a W, they'll be quality losses that contribute to the playoffs.

Sorry, but there are. See pats at home vs. Indy. Or any other game the pats got beat when they went along and won a SB. Or made the AFC championship game. If you don't believe in "quality losses," I give you the Green Bay game of last year. If you don't believe in quality losses, you must be a Bills, Dolphins or Eagles fan, at heart.

It was rough, but actually became kind of routine by the 3rd and 4th ones. The 1st one was the worst because, well it was the 1st... the team seemed unstoppable and probably should have won that game. And it was the closest, obviously. I think of the players on that team, Kelly, Thurman, Reed, Smith, Talley, Bennett, Wright, Hull, Tasker etc.... and I feel bad for them they never got to win it.
The sick part of me though enjoys the chase of the first and what "what will happen if...". Like I don't understand how it can be enjoyable to be a Yankees fan, and Im sure the Red Sox 07 and 13 WS were nowhere near as enjoyable as their first (in modern era). I was 12-16 at the time too, so I couldnt really fully enjoy it if they did win the Superbowl. If it happened now, I told my family I would likely disappear for a few weeks and dont look for me.
24% of respondents to this ESPN (ESPNChicago maybe) poll believe that Tom Brady should be BANNED FOR LIFE FROM THE NFL. That is how ridiculous this story has gotten.

its easy after a championship season to look back and claim that everything along the way went perfect...
But Im pretty sure, Bill Belichick himself would be the first to tell you there is no such thing as a "quality loss".
I think there are tough losses, particularly on the road and in hostile conditions, that may help you prep for the playoffs. I wouldn't go so far as to call them quality losses though.
I also love the fact that Tom Brady is too busy to meet the president and to read this report that claims to incriminate him and tarnish his legacy... but he can wine and dine at the Kentucky Derby.
Moral victories or quality losses, whatever you want to call them are bull shit. Ask any coach, they'd rather see a cheap one win than a "quality loss." Becauuse guess what? Those losses aren't helping you get into the playoffs. Every one hurts you.
It doesn't matter which team I pull for because anyone, including the coaches, would rather see a cheap win.
I also love the fact that Tom Brady is too busy to meet the president and to read this report that claims to incriminate him and tarnish his legacy... but he can wine and dine at the Kentucky Derby.
this whole thing is fucking ridiculous. deflating footballs? who cares? there were studies done during the nonsense leading up to the super bowl that it actually does more harm than good due to a decrease in velocity. aaron rogers overinflates his. the vikings were were caught keeping their balls too close to heaters last year. ooooooh! if the nfl really thought this was a big issue, they wouldn't allow teams to handle their own balls in the first place. plus if they were tipped off before the championship game and did nothing...then.....what the fuck? why let it happen? haha. whole thing is nonsense.
you just get the impression that this has always been one of those wink and nod rules for decades. always been a non issue until now. it was a convenient story to keep the nfl in the news in the first week leading up the super bowl and now the report conveniently comes out during the only other dead nfl time of the year.
they'll lose a draft pick and pay a fine (like the falcons had to as a result of their investigation, which nobody cares about--and what they did had a much bigger effect on games imo) and the nfl will change their ball handling policy, thus infuriating quarterbacks all over the league.

Enough with the White House nonsense. The players only had a few day's notice of when the trip would occur, so Brady was unable to make it. He says "family commitment"...who knows and who cares why. He had plenty of notice as to when the Kentucky Derby was happening, its an annual trip for him. And gee, he hadn't read the entire 243 page Wells report in the 30 hours since its release when he made his appearance last night....how dare he not drop everything in his life and hunker down and read that immediately.
And he wasn't the only Patriot player not there that day, but nobody is squawking about Vince Wilfork not being there or any of the other players who missed it. Nobody cared when Marshawn Lynch didn't go last year. Nobody cared when Michael Jordan skipped a White House visit.
The Brady hatred is getting quite pathetic at this point..

fucking. stupid.
while I agree that actual deflated footballs isn't a big issue but you can't tell me that the marquee team in the league having a complete and utter lack of integrity isn't a big issue. those fuckers constantly bend and break the rules and don't give two fucks about it. they are cheating scumbags and fucking bald face liers. kraft, bellicheck and brady need to be suspended. enough of their bullshit.

As a lifelong fan of the San Fran Giants who didn't think he would ever see a WS win that first one you will remember forever. It makes winning it all the more special. Then you get spoiled after the second one.
