Yes! you and your girlfreind yeah? my mate was showing you his pics?? sorry i wasnt so sociable i was shattered! great night though! hope you got home ok? we only had to get another train for 1/2 hour back to basingstoke.

Have to say it was a tremendous night, after reading the reviews in this thread im (in a weird way) glad i lost my space at front, cause from where i was standing the sound was fantastic i could breath and still see perfectly from where i was. my mate took most of those pics he got a few good ones of mikey's solo. And best of all he got me Mike's pick! ha!

Im hoping for more UK dates next year!

Yeah i got one from mike.
Was dead straight in front of him all night and he was staring at me for about 20 seconds at one stage in particular as i was killing some song,,poor people around me.
i eventually got my hands up which were wedged in front of me for about 30 mins and threw my flag up to him.
He hung it up and came back looked at me and threw me a pick...

I remeber you throwing your flag up to Mike. He hung it on an amp. There were two Irish flags on stage by the end of the night. I should have brought a St George flag along aswell - the French would have loved that! :D

Byrnzie and Renster, thanx a lot for the pics. I wanna see them again! Stupid job that doesn't allow me to go to Vienna...

Tell me about it. I wanna go to Pistoia on Wednesday but I don't think I can get the time off work. I could get a return with Ryanair for £80, and it's a 30 min - 45min train ride from Bologna via Prato. Damn!

EXCELLENT CHOICE!! That would have been great with it being Sep 11 as well...

I LOVED YELLOW LEDBETTER with Little Wing. I heard the soundcheck for Little Wing and they played the song with full band... Don't know if it was PJ or the Crew but it was really cool...

that's right, I am surprised that PJ did not play Bushleaguer at all on that day..?
  • Hi Conor & Louise!!

Conor thank you for your concerns, & I will be brushing up on my history *ahem* ;)

Hey Conor and Laura, lovely to spend time with you all on Monday- I was a bit worried going along to Paris on my own but had a really lovely afternoon sitting in the park (and cocktails with Laura on Sunday) and chatting with you all. Come down to London soon Laura and we'll sit and watch unplugged all day!!!

I got seats at Paris as I knew I wouldn't be able to cope standing- but I think its a real shame that people who just want to enjoy the band hand have a bit of a dance and jump about etc feel like they have to get seats because of a minority who are just going to push and cause people to be dragged out. I would have loved to have got standing tickets as I was sooo jealous of where you guys were standing but I didn't want to get kicked in the face!!!

Loved hearing all the Riot Act and Avocado songs- and I especially enjoyed Save you, Marker in the Sand and RVM...

Conor will somehow have to get hold of the pictures you took! Have a good week,

    Louise x

Didn't anyone of you had the impression Ed was in a bad mood in Paris?
I was standing on Stone's side and had a good view on the doors where the band came through before going to the stage.
It's just a feeling, but I normally have a good 'sixth' sense ...

Maybe they didn't want the concert to be too political.. especially as it was 9/11??

  • i don't know if he was in a bad mood at the beginning, but at the end he was in very very good mood!!! During mike's solo of yellowLedbetter, ed ran out of the stage and leave the area, i could see him, the door was open, he looked like he was looking for someone- i've seen him from where i was- hunger strike was on the set list (could someone confirm?) and chris cornell was in Paris...maybe he didn't find the road to bercy...maybe that's why eddy looks in a bad mood at the beginning, we'll never know

  • Had a great time in Paris. Went for the weekend with my wife and the Gig really was the icing on the cake of a fabulous weekend. After getting our wristbands we wnt across the road to Peanuts Bar where they were playing Pearl Jam on a big screen (think it was Live at the Garden - but couldnt really see the screen for bright sunshine).

Got back in to the queue about 30 mins before the doors opened. Thanks to the fella with the mohican who gave me a can of beer - it went down a treat.
Finally got in the venue and got a good position on Mikes side about ten or so back. Enjoyed MMJ - I'd never heard much of them before.

When PJ came on the place went absolutely mental and I had to drop back quite a bit as I am only short and I couldnt cope with all the shoving. There were quite a lot of prats about who didnt seem to give a toss about anyone else.

Once we got ourselves to a safe position we really enjoyed the rest of the night. Thumbing my Way and You've got to hide your love away were brilliant surprises and Save You was excellent. When they started playing RITFW I was a bit dissapointed cos I thought they were going to finish with that again like they did at Leeds - I really didn't want it to end. But they then played Yellow Ledbetter so I was ecstatic!

Had a good laugh at Eddies Zidane style headbut on Jeff at the end.

I only saw one girl of the right age aside of the stage and she didn't look like a lingerie model to me, so I guess she wasn't there... hence the 'bad' mood ;-)
