Well it was my first ever PJ show so it was pretty amazing!!! I enjoyed everything about it except....the stupid crowd who thought it would be fun to mosh!! My girlfriend isn't very tall so when all these assholes started pushing everyone around I had to try and stop them from crushing her! Luckily there were some really nice people who helped me get her off to the side of the stage. Then my only problem was this woman who kept jumping on my foot! But I didn't care too much as long as my girlfriend was okay!!

All in all though, it was an incredible experience. Though next time I don't think i'll get fan club tickets!

Oh yeah, I think 10c should think about sending out their tickets instead of making everyone wait in the pouring rain to pick them up...just a thought!!

no harm to you, but if you stand in the mosh pit - expect to get moshed.

After last nights show Ive seen 3 shows. All at wembley and in 96, 2000 and last night.

Ive loved every last minute of each show. Last night the same. Sort of fell out of love with the live experience over the last couple of years, because I aint the sort of bloke who would travel to see the band, so you forget the "live magic".

However, after last night, I am now really tempted to travel.

What Im basically trying to say is, Man, I fucking LOVE this band!

My favourite song was either SOLAT or that solo acoustic thing Ed did. Is that on a soundtrack somewhere? If anyone can help out with names, that would be cool.

In a closing note. About half twelveish I was queing up for tickets yesterday, and I saw a tout walking up and down the line. This angered me. Maybe Im being a bit idolistic, but I figures this greedy scumbag is making money off other peoples misfortune ie, lack of tickets.

I really wanted to say something. But I didnt have the guts. Minutes later I saw a group of 3 or 4 girls all wearing "not in my name" t-shirts giving him a bit of verbal.

Well done. You are the people I wish I could be

What an amazing night, This was my wifes first PJ show and she couldnt believe what she had just experienced. I just wished they kept going all night.

I hope a return to these shores for an arena show isnt another 7 years away!

Great show, last night I have to admit I was a bit dissapointed in the setlist but looking back it was actually nice to hear some different songs, especially Inside Job. Sound was pretty good for Wembley but the merchandise stalls..................what a fucking joke. I queued for 45 mins to be told they didn't have any womens t-shirts left but luckily managed to sweet talk the guy into letting me have the ones off the wall after the show!

Only downside for me was the idiots waving their Portugal flags infront of me so that was the only view I got for a lot of the show. If any of you are reading this.............it was me who stole 2 of your flags and 20 people shook my hand for it. Next time leave them at home!

Well done for taking them! I am usually a very peaceful PJ fan, but having had my view blocked by the drunken mass of Portuguese fans and their blasted flags for half the show I too could not hold back. Polite requests were ignored so I ended up having an argument with them to little avail. So good on you gal! Were you the petite blonde lass next to my Mum? I must say they really did put a little of a downer on the gig for me, it is so horrible when you get folk who careless about others in the crowd, so, so rude. And given I had been looking forward to the concert for yonks it was a shame, still doesn't distract from the fantastic evening.

Oh and a hello too to the Scottish lad and his girlfriend from Croydon, also the tall dark haired guy beside me who was taking lots of pictures :D

well if i could think of any wonderful superlatives to say, I would, but I've really overused all of them since the band started playing last night and now they seem to be a little hollow and don't actually mean what I want them to mean.

Fucking fantastic night... long road :o save you :o parachutes :o

it was almost getting to the point where I will never need to see pj again cos they've played all the songs I NEEDED to hear. Long road was fucking AMAZING.

It was such a pleasure to q with everyone who was there and the crowd around me at the gig were great... special shout out to elodie... hope you show up here soon and say hi.

anyway, at the airport now and have time for a quick pint and have to run around making sure the band aren't here somewhere :o (well we did see the entire Irish rugby team on the way over so it's worth a shot :D ) so chat yas all later and I'll try and come up with something (even if I have to make up words) to describe how I'm feeling at some stage... it's doubtful tho.

we were all moaning about them in the q to start... feckin pain in the arse they were. We were there at about 9.20am and there was maybe 20 people in front of us (maybe 4 portugese) ... so... front row! Suddenly there was about fuckin 50 of them and we knew our front row chances were gone. Also there were two of them right in front of me at the barrier and when I tried to rest my hand on the barrier between them, she (girl in yellow tshirt) looking around at me giving me a dirty look... so it made me a wee bit happier that I'd managed to piss HER off :) . They pissed a LOT of people off!

4th pearl jam show, thought it was about time i joined the forum!!
fantastic show last night, they looked like they were having so much fun again!!
contrary to other people, i don't think the sound was that bad, maybe depends where u were stood/sat? i was about 20 metres back, dead centre, sounded brilliant, thought my heart was gonna explode when the bass and drums kicked into long road!!!
gutted they didn't play nothingman, my personal fave, but i loved the fact they didn't play the big-hitters, and yet were still head and shoulders above every other band out there doing the rounds at the mo!!!

I went to see RATM at Coachella, and that was insane...Wembley was better.

And believe me, I am a HUGE RATM fan and its a special night that tops that.

Us too!! With those FUCKING FLAGS!! Eventually (after about an hour of shifting from side to side to avoid this fuckers flag),I asked him politley to put it down.To which he acted fuckin thick and tried to say there was plenty of room on either side of him to get a decent view. There was'nt,just more fuckin portugese!!!!And they seemed more interested in posing for photos than watching the band! Brisbane night 1 last year was the best form I've seen PJ in. Also the best setlist.

Before you rag on me, I'll let you know that I appreciated the 'list tonight, too - very much. Especially Present Tense.

    But Brisbane was better.

I'll buy the Wembley bootleg if it's made available. In the meantime, I'd be happy to trade a Wembley audience recording for something I've got (PM me).

First week in the UK after moving from Australia. Pretty good start, I reckon.

    Thanks PJ.
why was it better? i just cant imagine better than that, please explain better, never seen a audience and band bond like that, not been funny, you must have your reasons, but i just cannot imagine better than that EVER,

    Wow.

Pearl jam came into my life 10 years ago at a time when I'd fallen out of love with music. A friend lent Ten and vs and I was enthralled.

Whether I'm a 'casual fan' or not I don't care. These were the one band I had to see. To give you an idea of how much this meant to me, the last time I was at a gig was in 1992.
    :o

Apparently, the sound was crappy. I noticed but didn't care.
Apparently, this was a gig for the hardcore and the 'casual fan' wouldn't have enjoyed it. I noticed that, too. but didn't care.

From the opening bars to the walk off stage I was beaten by the force of their performance and by the third or fourth song I was breathless. Halfway through I was emotional to the point where I felt that if they played one more song I loved then my heart would burst from happiness.

As it was my first PJ gig I did want to hear RVM and I hoped to hear I Am Mine, but to complain would be churlish.

My only experience of PJ live was when Id caught snippets of them at festivals and I thought they appeared knida subdued and I my biggest fear was they would be like that last night and I couldn't have been more wrong. They put their heart and soul into last night's performance and I think you could really 'feel the love'.

I know I'm wittering on but I've only found this forum today. Thank you all for sharing your own experiences and photo's.

I'll see you all again sometime. maybe at Lollapalooza if anyone wants to buy my soul.
    18/06/07 A day I will never forget.

Well, next time if I see a Portuguese flag in a PJ audience I will run to the otherside of the arena. They really did spoil a darn amazing night for a PJ fan of 14 years. Also, I brought my Mum who did actually tell most of them off, which really made me giggle. Most of them were very drunk and they say us Brits are bad abroad. *ahem*

I am not a xenophobe and I talked to loads of others from all over the place last night -- US, Aussies and so on, but please if you are going to go to a gig anywhere please respect others in the crowd and look after one another. Something I feel most of us do.

I am still on a post gig high, just hate feeling animosity where there needn't have been any at all :P

It's fair enough that the set isn't for beginners, but quite frankly that's the reason PJ are so great. When bands get to the size where they know they can sell out an arena, no matter what they play, it can go 2 ways.
They can play all the hits every night to please the first timers but annoy anyone who's been to more than 2 or 3 shows (like Foo Fighters do, for example). Or, occasionally the band can play an amazing set with little or no hits (knowing they don't need to rely on the same few songs to please the audience). The latter may not please first timers, but that setlist will set the show apart for fans who've seen the band before.

For a band that constantly change the setlist there's bound to be a few nights that don't please everyone.

As I said in my review: This was my first and I couldn't be happier with the setlist I got after years of waiting.

And I'm fairly sure they'll play lots of hits at Werchter so I'll get the very best of both worlds.

Faithfull. Present Tense. Immortality. Long Road. Porch. I Got Shit. Inside Job. State. Low Light - such an awesome selection of songs!
Amazing energy from both the band and the crowd, making friends with my neighbours as we sang ourselves hoarse to songs we couldn't believe they were playing. Going with a great group of friends both new and old and being nearly speechless afterwards.
It couldn't have been any better - and I didn't notice much wrong with the sound either, except for the extreme volume!!
