    The intensity was amazing.

It was a mix of 2008 maturity/skill and 1998 setlist and energy

    Wow.

These boys are athletes. It was freakin hot and muggy and they blasted shit.

i have never seen this band have a better "take no prisoners" performance than last nights show...

and I have been going to every show since 1994..

Eddie's voice is even better than 2006 & 2003 tours..

He is having fun and smiling, acting out all the lyrics with his hands..

first time I ever saw him run along the edge of the stage and shake hands with fans mid-song (during porch!)

this man is re-newed I tell you..

and watch out becuase Master McCready is ON FIRE!

see you guys tonight at Boston #1

If there is anyone to blame for not getting in on time, it's yourselves! I know that it is much easier to place blame on others for your mis-fortune, but what did you expect when you went to get your tickets at 9pm?

I always pick up my tickets early and have never had any problems. Granted I always go in for the opening band, cause I want to see if Ed does a pre-set (Don't think he has this tour though). But still I'm there from the opening note, until they kick me out. So instead of blaming the venue or the 10c, just except the fact that you messed up, take responsibility for yourselves!

Emily, yes the "Frat Boy" that show up just because it's a concert do piss me off too!

I'm sick of the bitching, but everyone is entitled to bitch and moan like my grandmother.

Ed did not "sing" certain parts of the harder rock songs from the 90's, he fuckin ripped them apart and tore them down in the most amazing screams and yells that I have heard since 1992. It was so hot and so muggy, he seemed to be wiped out at times, but still managed to blast parts of songs that only 25 years olds should be able to sing.

I wish I could describe this better....maybe during DEEP or GARDEN...where in recent years he has scaled back certain screams in favor of singing the parts...well last night nothing was scaled back or tempered down...wow

I wonder if that Katie girl that was brought out on stage was the representative the Dodge Center sent out to inform the band that they had played past curfew?

I hope the band has that same kind of energy for the Boston shows! I think they will since it is the last shows of the tour..

I mean... It's sad that after one of the songs I feel a hand in my shoulder and a nice 45 year old lady asks me "Excuse me, are u sober?" I said yeah (I had 3 beers 2 hours before...) and she said "Well, congratulations. You were living and enjoying the concert like it was your first! You were very entertaining!"

Now, what are u gonna say to this nice lady? Am I a clown? lol

I saw you jamming out the whole time. (Ronaldo shirt?) Where do you find the energy? I found it beautiful to watch someone so taken by the music. I have to agree with you, our section was a little blah....

Hey all those people who had to wait in that long line for the 10C tickets have nobody to blame but themselves! Get your tickets before you decide to party in the parking lot! I mean why wait till 9 or so to get your damn tickets>> That's just stupid if you ask me. And then when all these people show up all at once they expect the people at the ticket windows not to be overwhelmed?

Wow. I swear I will never miss another quad-state area show again. As a finishing grad school (today!) gift to myself, I made the trek from NY after my first ever show at Camden2 last week. It could not have been a better night. Freakin' awesome setlist and energy. I was totally pumped by the middle of Breakerfall and ecstatic by NFY. Also, I didn't think I could get excited about Alive anymore, but they absolutely wailed during the jam. My credit card just took another hit for the bootleg.
And somehow it sounds like I got incredibly lucky and caught the perfect storm in the free parking - got in and out quickly/easy and didn't pop a tire on the fratboy shrapnel. Sorry so many others had a bad experience outside the show itself.

Big thanks to Vince, who replied to my post, sold me his extra ticket and made the night possible.

Now I can rest. Everyone enjoy Mansfield!

People didn't just wait until 9. Why don't you read some more posts before yelling at people who did nothing wrong? Honestly the traffic is what fucked most people up. And you can't say they should have left earlier because most were at work.

Great show last night - I was a bit soured after MSG I because of some assholes sitting behind me but this show made up for it. I did wait on line for the 10C tickets but it only took about 20 minutes or so - though it was a disaster overall. I guess it got worse as the show got closer - I was on line around 7:15.

The setlist was great - didn't know what to expect with a tweener show between NY and Boston, but they pulled out a lot of great stuff - Last Exit, Garden (original version), Immortality...I am a little burned out with Daughter (even though I love the ABITW tag) and was hoping for a different closer than Alive and Yellow Ledbetter. But overall it was great - one of the more memorable shows I have been to in a while.

Everyone around me was very cool, too. I saw the fence get knocked down but I guess I missed the pepper spray when I went over. Stopped at Sweet Jane's afterwords for a bit - cool place, they played all old school clips of old videos and a bunch of Unplugged clips from Pearl Jam and Stone Temple Pilots.

    Good stuff.

easier said than done when they make you park a mile away

its not unreasonable to show up at 8 for a show that starts at 9:15
Yes those that showed up at the last minute paid for it
    Did you see that line?

Crazy, crazy line and no reason for it in this day and age.

I was really impressed with last night's show. I knew it was going to be great, but from reading what other's say about Hartford (it was my first time there) I didn't expect the greatest of them.

I really wanted to hear Sad, Brain of J. and Immortality, so hearing those alone made my night. But Blood and Fucking Up had to be the highlights, incredible! I forget which song it was on, but did anyone catch where the band skipped a couple beats in one song? And it was the whole band that skipped it, like it was planned. I'll have to ask hubby which song it was.

I didn't see any of the chaos that I've been reading on here regarding the cops, I just had a great time, it was a great show, and I'm downloading it for sure. Thanks PJ!! :)

yeah, except 75% of the people I was near, including myself, had either no booze whatsoever, or just a beer or 2. Now if you substituted the word partying for working, or waiting for your kids other parent to get home from work, you just might sound like you actually had the slightest clue about what you're talking about.

to all the people who had to work or do other worth while things, thats obviously not your fault, but I was standing by the line from 6:40 until around 8, and there were floods of tailgaters coming in waves, and thats what made the line huge.
So, in conclusion, if the people there tailgating had picked up their tix and then went back to tailgating, that would have made it much smoother for EVERYBODY.

10C ticket disaster had me very close to tears, I missed several songs, but once in the venue and was escorted down to my ROW 9 SEATS.....ALL WAS FORGOTTEN!!! Best show EVER for me! I had a complete blast! The energy and the set list were awesome...and to think I almost blew off going to Hartford after the bad time I had there 2 years ago. First time I ever won anything....10 C ticket upgrade rocks!

After reading all the negative posts leading up to last night's Hartford show, I must admit I had serious reservations ... not to mention that it was following two UNbelievable MSG shows, and, for me, winning the lottery at Camden #1 and sitting dead center row 1 ... how could it not be a let down after that?

First of all, I now understand why there was so much negativity over the venue .. it sucked, and the attitude of a lot of those working there did too.

Many in the crowd sucked big time, too ... much has been said about the "drunken frat boy" types, which might just not be fair to some frat boys, but if that's the term we want to use I'll go with it...those people can ruin a good show if you let them ... DON'T!

The ticket debacle made me sad for any real fan that had to miss any of this show ... no doubt there were many who tailgated a little too long when they should have taken care of business first, but you shouldn't be punished by missing the first half dozen songs just because you didn't have the luxury of arriving hours before show time, as I and many others did, and got our tickets first... who fucked up this time?

I met some very nice police on the way in and out, but I saw a few dicks, too, which isn't surprising, but I also saw people tearing the chain link fence down instead of walking another hundred feet or so, and although I refused to walk over the torn down fence, I did not see any pepper spray being dispersed as some have reported, but I don't doubt it happened, but again, what asshole tears down a fence to get out of a concert? Fucks like that give us all bad names...

Oh, yeah, then there was the show ... this band never ceases to amaze me, and the four shows I saw just completely reaffirmed my love and faith in them, even though I never lost it to begin with ... Pearl Jam is easily the best band in the world right now ... tonight they just smoked, from the first note of Can't Keep, right into a powerful Breakerfall, and to someone here earlier who said it was "awful" to put two Binaural songs in the first five, it amazes me what some people will choose to bitch about ... they were so strong and seasoned and mature and fucking hard when they then pounded out the classics, Last Exit, God's Dice, and the incredible addition of All Night...then, of course you're gonna hear Small Town, I mean can you give Eddie a break, not to mention the rest of the band, and a few fans who don't see 5 or 6 shows a year like a lot of us do? Please don't whine that you just heard this song last night, just shut up and SING ... take a deep breath, and before you know it they are slamming into Sad, Brain Of J, Big Wave, then a beautiful In Hiding, before cranking out a strong Not For You ... Daughter with the Another Brick In The Wall tag was another cool transition piece on a sweltering evening where you just wonder what's really in Ed's wine, and how he finds the energy to keep it going at this pace for this long, because before you know it, they turn it on again with a blast of Why Go, and Jeremy, with Ed giving it his complete all on a song he has sung a billion times ... as most of us have, but sometimes it just feels good to sing it again, and tonight was one of those hot evenings where it felt good to throw up your arms in a V and help Ed out, he almost demands that you try to give it as much as he is giving it!! I love the song Gone, always have since the first night it was performed at Borgatta in 2005, when gas did not feel as much like money in the bank as it does today ... then we were treated to a beautiful, soulful, yet scorching Immortality, Mike just wailing away, making his guitar squeal and cry, and adding a beautiful extended finish to the song, with the whole band standing together squeezing out the last notes, before launching us into a white hot Porch, just when you thought the humidity would drown us all, but Ed didn't let up on us a bit, and Mike and Stone just burned, and Jeff kept walking up to the front of the stage to just hammer out these explosive bass riffs...man I collapsed after that, had to drink some much needed water and catch a breath before whatever they had in store for us next...
The crowd went nuts when they heard the first strains of Garden, and after another beautiful, if somewhat abbreviated Better Man (they did without the usual long audience singing of the intro), they gave us another brilliant Even Flow, before going into a punishing version of Comatose, then floored it into Leash ... one song I was really hoping to hear came next, to everyone's delight, and shut the fuck up to anyone who dares question the strength of Ed's voice ... Blood (with the way cool Atomic Dog rap tag...) was just perfect, and again, I just had to collapse for a few minutes, which I hope Ed did too, because this band that never stops going was quickly back on stage again, ready to give us even more, another encore, and we knew it was going to make us all smile when we saw Jeff pick up the Fender strat, and Stone grab a bass... Another tour first, Smile, and everyone had one even as they slid into the opening riff of Do The Evolution, then let's see who's still standing, who still has the strength to yell and pump their fist in the air for Alive ... Matt's drum intro gave away the next song, and it was a slamming version of Neil's Fuckin' Up, with Stone just going OFF on the extended solo, then a sweet version of Yellow Ledbetter/Little Wing to put a cherry on top of it all ... although I felt a little bad when Ed commented on all the people rushing for the exits as soon as this song started ... not many of them were TenClubbers I'm just guessing...
Sorry to go on for so long, but it was a night to remember in many ways, including, for me anyway, hitchhiking back to New Jersey after the show...I was the guy walking down the street with the sign that said NYC ... someone picked me up right away and took me all the way to the train station 10 miles from my house in New Jersey!
All in all I must say, TenClub fan members, Pearl Jam fans in general are very cool people, and I always enjoy being around them. They make me proud to fly the colors and to be a part of it all.
Thanks to them, to the Ten Club, and to the band for another great tour and some more unforgettable memories. Until we meet again. Peace.
I was alone and far away when I heard the band start playing!

...I was always a DeadHead, but when I first heard Winston Rodney, aka the Burning Spear, sing, I became a SpearHead too!

Peace.

great review. the energy that the band had in the four shows i've seen this year was incredible. they've even better and tighter than the last tour.

Thank you Sevrdhand!! All of these people putting blame on us!

I didn't do anything wrong and I would admit it if I was. In fact I wouldn't even be commenting about such things. Just sharing my experience to relate to others who experienced the same. I wasn't partying in the parking lot at all and I didn't wait until 9 PM to get in. I left NY at 4:30..didn't get there until 7:45 because of traffic and went directly to the box office and still waited online forever! I was expecting to go in early to hear TLatP, have some drinks and hang out in my seat. The truth is...that venue couldn't handle the crowd. Every other show I've been to for Pearl Jam this tour...you wait in line for 1-2 people in front of you...even if its 10 minutes before they go on (like I did at the MSG shows) and you go right in..no problem at all.

    Boycott Dodge Music Center!!

Damn the 3 week wait for this boot is gonna kill me. I probably would have listened to it twice today just like I did for my last show. I keep looking at the setlist and wondering how that hell that happened in Hartford.

I know from the experience of living in CT for a few years and going to some shows in the Dodge Center or whatever the hell its called. It is not the fans' fault, and not the 10C's fault.
Traffic in CT on 95, 91, 84, and even 15 is excessively bad... to a higher degree on Fridays, an even higher degree during the summer months.
It was a Friday. Many folks had to work. Working and getting through traffic is tough.
And I know how that venue is set up and run and the dont give a shit about the fans. Everything is run backwards, inconvenient (from parking onward), and staff is course. From what I remember there is only 1 way out of the venue, so if you dont want to leave early, it is gridlock walking out of there.

None of this surprises me at all, and despite the great show Pearl Jam put on, I still will never set foot in that venue again.
