A woman wanted me to come back and see her to discuss the price of a job. She said

"Let's touch base and discuss cost drivers"

I didn't know whether to laugh, be sick, punch her or ask what the fuck she was talking about?

I think she may have been coming on to you.

I hate "I can't speak to that." Since when do you speak to an issue? They aren't physical beings. You speak about issues, not to them.

Okay this made an audible, uncomfortable laugh out loud at my work desk this morning. I can think of a few that deserve a crowbar to the dome. Made my day though...

I hate that, people use that expresion because they are about to say something offensive, otherwise, no need for an apology, and they also use as if it were a discourse marker, and apply a special intonation, come on!!! and if you are about to say something with an apology, don't say nothing at all!!!

why would I want to look at a horse's mouth? :?

I think it's because you can check the health of a horse by the mouth, but I agree with you, shitty presents should be throw at back to the person who gives them...
i work with this homely mess of a woman

I absolutely HATE IT when people who don't really know what they're talking about use buzz words or big language just to make themselves look important and knowledgeable.

I've worked in more than one place that has used "Fail to prepare, Prepare to fail" as a 'motivational' phrase. It's as if they don't have any faith in their staff and are really saying, "You will fuck this up!"

Also, someone I work with uses "to die for" way too often, and nearly always about food. As in, "that cake was to die for." Really?!?
