Glad to see another stellar setlist tonight. Would have gone apeSH#T over Of The Girl, Parting Ways or In Hiding making a debut on the tour, but I guess they have to save a few pearls for South America!
Nice to see World Wide Suicide getting into the rotation on the tour, and I dig the No Code love, playing Present Tense, Off He Goes and Hail, Hail quite a bit on this leg. Pilate, Mankind, Chloe Dancer/COT, Save You, Glorified G and Bee Girl were nice surprises, and I have to get this bootleg just for Little Wing!
Thanks for visiting our country PJ...you guys are the not only the best band in the world, but the best band for their fans!
I've said it at least a dozen times, and I'll say it again....PLEASE bring out a Canadian Tour 2011 Box Set...the past 10 shows have all been KILLER!
Truth be told, I wanna live my life with the volume full!

forgot to mention WAR PIGS tagged in Alive. I have been listening to the oceans single for YEEEARS with that version of Alive on it, and it was nice to get that.

So much has been said that I agree with, so I'll just get on with the photos. I captured some good moments...Stone on Mankind, Matt/Stone swapped, etc. My favorite is Ed w/ the guitar during Porch.
What an amazing end to an amazing week. We started out in Saskatoon and travelled the 3 western provinces and saw 4 mind blowing shows. The Vancouver set list left me speechless! No Code is my fave album so last nights 6 songs rocked my world! The instrument switching was an unexpected element. Even Ed looked surprised when Stone played drums during Yellow Ledbetter. We sat beside some good fans that rocked as hard as we did, what a difference that makes! Sad today that our mini tour is over< but at the same time...I am exhausted. Thanks PJ for a great week!
Did anyone ever figure out what went wrong with the sound? We were in the 16th row, on Mike's side, near the middle. We could hear drums and vocals really well but could hardly hear Stone's rhythms and most of what Mike was doing. During Mike's solos, it would come in louder a few seconds into the solo. I could tell that the crew was having a hard time figuring it out because they spent a lot of time on stage, rearranging. I also saw Eddie motion to them to turn up Stone's guitar. It was unfortunate because I could see that they were working really hard and putting on a great show but something was mis-firing. The slower songs sounded great! Once Mike's solos came through, he sounded awesome too. Amazing set list! Present Tense was incredible. I absolutely love seeing that song live! Glorified G blew my mind! Smile!! The crowd was kind of blah so I understand why Eddie was upset but I think part of the problem was that the crowd wasn't getting the full effect. Stone on drums for Yellow Ledbetter was really wonderful.
The security was out of control - we had an aisle in front of us and there were about 4-5 securities guards who kept coming and loitering in front of us. They were being unnecessarily aggressive. I understand wanting to keep people out of the front but they just kept standing right in front of us. It was so distracting! Especially considering how amazing Ten Club fans are - we respect each other!
Happy Birthday, George! Thanks for the memories, Vancouver!
It's pretty much all been said so I'll just say a big thank you to PJ, Wishlist, our friends, and pj fans in general. It was bittersweet as it was the last show, but got a great one! Enjoyed ourselves immensely and so glad we got to hook up with lots we missed at AV. Loved the setlist and it seems even better looking back at it which has never happened before. Can't wait for all the boots of this tour! The three we attended were just awesome!
"I'd rather be with an animal." "Those that can be trusted can change their mind." "The in between is mine." "If I don't lose control, explore and not explode, a preternatural other plane with the power to maintain." "Yeh this is living." "Life is what you make it."
Third and final show of the Canada run, each show had a different reason to love it.
Tonight's reasons, the rarities ... Crown of Thorns was magnificent (actually got to hear it twice as we walked up just as they were soundchecking it). Got my first Hail Hail of this run which, I could hear every night, always a good night what that starts things off. Ole isn't really a song I'm a huge fan of, but seeing Ed go next-level mental made it damn cool. Got some other great ones like Garden, Smile, Off He Goes and SOLAT which really rounded this set of three shows off nicely.
What kind of bummed me out .... first, the crowd ... between Seattle in 2009 and this show, it really feels like the home town crowds don't bring it as much as you'd think they would. Edmonton really felt like a *much* more appreciative crowd.
But worse than that, the sound. I'm going to disagree with the earlier post ... man, it sounded like tonight's show was being filtered through mud. Maybe I stand alone in this criticism, but though Edmonton and Calgary had better sound (even after hearing Calgary is known for bad sound).
But those critiques don't outweigh the fact that I had a blast tonight and this was an incredible run ... I'm you're newest and biggest fan Canada, you're *all* so damn fantastic in my book. Will share beers, tunes and poutine with you anytime.
I have to agree with pretty much all of this. I saw them in Winnipeg and the crowd was much better. The band responded so much more. Eddie even talked alot more in Winnipeg.
But I was still so happy to be there and was going nuts. Can't belive those ppl in the first row!
PERSONALLY, not my favorite show, but i probably should SHUT the H UP. I got a GREAT----Animal, Lukin, SMILE, and Chloe/Crown of Thornes.......so NOT sure what im bitching about, but here I go.....
-venue, not great, no bars near venue. i normally DIG 10c pre partys, but that space was too clinical or off, felt like there was a "half priced books sale" so my only complaint there is where it was at, not the sweetness of OUR beloved 10c PEEPS!
-crowd, eh
- set list on paper seems better than it was in person. just felt OFF for some reason
-my seats KINDA SUCKED. those PRICKS in the front row, ID LOSE MY MIND FOR 3 hours if I was THAT CLOSE to GREATNESS, and im 38 and OLD, but id come PROPER! a holes
My last two shows were PJ20- Alpine, and I was 4th row night two, paid thru the nose, not 10c, but hey, what can I expect? nutin touching PJ20 weekend for awhile.......
I LOVE ALL you cra cra CRAZY, PJ peeps, guess it depends on who your arond as well..........
Glad to read this one, too. I was beginning to think it was just me. On paper a great set but it seemed a bit off. Someone earlier said Eddie was 100%.. maybe not feeling well? He didn't introduce the band, either which kinda surprised me. Great concert for sure and i'm so thankful for the spot we had.. even row 25 was great... everyone was going nuts around us!
Thanks, those are great. I was going to take some shots, but I figured I was too far back to get any decent ones, and I'd be blocking people's views from holding my camera up. I knew that folk like you would provide!

Luckily my girl has a steady hand. Had to take advantage of the opportunity being that close!

Awesome show!
Security was the biggest JOKE!ABUSIVE Clowns! :x
Saw 5 guys haul out one kid for dancing and having fun. BRAVO!!!!
Honestly stick to Rogers arena at least they now how to treat paying fans.
Remember were not in high school anymore even if you guys make a high school wages!
COT and Mankind definate highlights for me.

Sony Cybershot HX9V. My wife's actually...just picked it up for her. Does a great job reducing camera shake. I did take 200 photos to get these, though.

wow, first post ever, and you call Eddie a "fucking prick?"
And his taste in music is kinda shitty too (well, I guess at least he likes SOME Pearl Jam). Umemployable is awesome. :P
Didn't realize fans needed to build up a porfolio of fawning posts prior to calling things as they see it. Shitting on anyone who has given time and money to come to your show, with the exception of brawlers or the generally obnoxious, is just spoiled-ass bullshit. If he had not said a thing after the song it would have just passed as a great inspired performance....it was awesome! You could see the whole band really giving it on that one, trying hard to get the crowd as excited about it as they are, let alone EV crouched off the front of stage belting those last lines right into their faces. Yes, they deserved that, but not the call-out.... reminds me of some evangelical preacher pointing out the "non-believers" at his gathering. Having said that, if the duds were on Mike's side they probably would have called in the paramedics because only the clinically dead can be immune to that much positive energy!
To continue the "crowd sucked" discussion (wince) someone should compile crowd reaction "data" and compare it to day of the week. Not only are crowds ready to rock, I think bands are tuned into it as well. '09 in Vancouver was a great setlist, great connection, and it was on a Friday with a crowd that was off the scale. Edmonton on the Friday this time and a much more energetic setlist with a really responsive crowd.

a HUGE, HUGE thing for me, in terms of crowd is selling out behind the stage too. because in Vancouver 09, it was not only sold out, but the people behind the stage ROCKED the hell out all night. and its inspiring to others to see not just a backdrop hiding empty seats, but people with shit sits, packed into the building and loving it. it motivates you in your good seat to really feed off that energy.
combine those empty seats, in a smaller venue on a sunday night and what you get is the crowd we got on sunday.
Here's Ole - it starts mid-song but luckily in has the ending "freak out", and the best part is Ed's look over his shoulder at these guys as he's walking away. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6n0ClcfxgY

My friend swears that Uncle Neil was at the Vancouver show and played during "Rockin in the Free World" All the media states is that Fairweather and DeJulio were on the stage with PJ at that time. Who is Tim DeJulio? I would think that if Uncle Neil was there that Eddie would have mentioned something and the crowd would have gone nuts....

Neil wasn't there as far as I saw. Yes it was Bruce Fairweather and Tim DiJulio - Tim is a local Seattle musician (and obvious frind of Mike's) who's been in bands like Luv Co, Lazy Susan, played at the recent Hootenany shows and is also part of Flight To Mars. I'm sure there's more to his resume, but that's what I recall at the moment.
I was blown away last night. After 18 pJ shows, I get worried that I will be a little dissapointed if the set/band isn't great. Not the best 'tude...but, I have to be honest. That said, the band still has it, never lost it, and I get my ass kicked for thinking such things...haha. It was a night to remember. Top 5 for me!
- Didn't love the Elderly opener, but it was the first time I got that as an opener. Plus, my lady loved it and therefore, it did make me happy.
- Hail Hail, Save, You, Animal, Got Some. At that point, I knew we were in for a good one! Plus the yelp from Ed at the end of Got Some? Or was it Save You? Either way, I knew he was amped.
- Pilate - Nothing needed to say. 20th time they played it? Could of left at that point! haha
- (proper) Garden. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
