I'm curious about this myself. I would think the band would be named for full disclosure. If I was approving this I would want to know who was playing. Is it Pearl Jam or Paul Simon? Metallica or Madonna? The band and the type of music they play I think would need to be known for the permits to be approved. Especially in stodgy, puritanical Boston.
Or not. Who knows?
So, are you saying that it's possible PJ could have been the band but will get rejected by puritanical Boston and get replaced by a Madonna concert? Now, wouldn't that be the ultimate kick in the pants. :?
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.
while i am slightly disappointed i spent two paychecks on alpine valley i still would try to go to one fenway show, hope it happens!
my wife and i agreed to try for kids before the end of the year, so this could be the final chance to follow my favorite band!!
I hear you and understand completely. I would feel the same way if I was going to Alpine.
I do think that if there is anything to this -- and that is a big IF, but IF there is -- then this Fenway stuff all came together very recently. I don't think PJ, 10C, or band management meant to pull the wool over anyone's eyes with Alpine. I think the plan originally was for PJ20 to be the only US shows but something changed. Most likely something having to do with the Toronto film festival. If that fell through it freed up some dates, dates Fenway just happened to be available and looking for a band.
Still, something does feel a little different this time...
It's the preciseness of the 4 day gap in eastern Canada dates overlapping the 3 days that Fenway is looking for a permit.
It's the fact that they did indeed pull the script that stated PJ20 was the only US appearance this year.
I still lean towards it being pure coincidence and this won't happen ... but yeah, the circumstantial evidence is there, far more than it ever has been for these Fenway rumors.
It's fun to have some hope ... as long as you're sensible about it.

Just checked... Paul Revere and the Raiders' tour schedule has a break over these supposed Fenway dates.
We seem to be on the verge of setting up a thread and a relayer here. We take things seriously in Boston.
Screw it, lets all call in sick and have a Wishlist fundraiser before the hearing.

It is painfully obvious. You have become a nuisance in each thread and Kat has locked them to end the bickering. Believe me, that is obvious.[/quote]
